Torchlight II? I can't even get into Torchlight 1, I bought it hearing it was great and stopped playing once I got down to lava level, the game doesn't thrill me. I'd rather read the news.
the makers of diablo 1 and diablo 2 made torchlight
hence why the music is awesome yet similar
and why the skill system is like diablo 1 and 2 combined xD
they also made hellgate london when they worked for flagship =3
whereas diablo 3 only really has the company name? xD
i think torchlight is the only real competitor in this genre for diablo series lol
(due to all the clones sucking anyway)
The music from Diablo II and Torchlight were done by the same person, Matt Uelmen. His music makes happy!
As far as Torchlight is concerned; it was a great game to play in between Diablo 3 announcements. I got it for $5, and I really did enjoy playing it. I will probably play Torchlight 2 because it looks fun (with the online co-op), and I love isometric hack'n slash games... but it's no Diablo 3.

TL had like 100000 quests, and they were all "kill these dudes" or "kill this boss" or "kill these dudes and bring me their drops" or "kill this boss and bring me its drop". That was all. 4 different quests, or rather 2, multiplied by a billion by a simple randomization engine. Where is the fun in that? And to top that off, all levels and enemies are exactly the same. It is just a neverending repetitive grind fest with no reward.
I have to say.
I enjoy hack & slashing in D2 and just doing the major quests without thinking (its really just telling me "go here"), and I found it more fun than having some extremely stupid quests in Torchlight.
I remember all those quests I just didn't give a damn about. Side quests bored the hell out of me and I rapidly gave me caring about them.
A game is better off not giving you any quests if they're going to suck. Its also a thing I'm scared about in D3. Those random "go fetch me that" quests. Random quests are doomed to suck in my eyes.
As for Torchlight 2, its getting multiplayer, which is the only reason that'll make me more likely to buy it with a friend.
I enjoyed TL specially considering I got it for free and it plays like butter on my laptop at max settings, nice little time fuller for sure so it'll be interesting to see how they handle the sequel.

Interesting..
If D3 comes out around that time though....
They've had a lot more time to work on T2; I for once am fairly excited about this, the ambiguous release date of D3 being the caveat of course.

Yes, those are epic, and that is exactly how I enjoy questing to be.
