Okay, so, I'm working on a RDBMS right now and I've just wrapped up registration, login/logout, and sessions scripts, so now I'm on to the part that really matters- adding chunks of content. Software like phpBB and vBulletin use BB Code to validate and format user input from the server side, using PHP to transform those BB Code tags in to HTML markup.
In the past, I tried to simulate something similar to BB Code in my highschool independent study project (here - go ahead, hack it, I know all the security holes, I just never got to fixing them- I'll just delete the whole thing eventually (you'll have to register to get to the page about what I named "MagiCode")). It worked to an extent- things like italics, bolding, text-centering, links, and such were easy. There are some things, though, that just wouldn't work out. So I'm looking for a guide to get BB Code and implement it in to a basic CMS. Is this possible? I looked on their site and didn't find any useful information off the bat, though I may have missed it.
