So I installed the new windows 7 service pack, and updated my driver for my video card (I had the 2nd newest driver, so it wasn't a 'huge' upgrade. I then re-ran the beta computer test available from blizzard and my video card memory went from 1GB to 2.74GB.
I'm not complaining, but what happened ??
Edit: It's an ASUS EAH6850. Also reworded title a bit.
Also I'm aware that 2.74 isn't double 1.00 lol.. I wasn't going to make the title 'Video Card Memory increased by a ratio of 2.74!'
So it seems to be correct. I actually just checked my system. Apparently one of the updates allowed my video card to utilize my system memory.
It says:
Total Available Graphics Memory: 2814MB
Dedicated Video Memory: 1024MB
System Video Memory: 0MB
Shared System Memory: 1790MB
Looks like my system can take 1790MB from (my ram ?) and let the video card borrow it. Does that even make sense?
I have an asus as well, my ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5800 Serie card with 1024MB of memory. This shows both on the card, and beta profile, however, as you, once I updated a 2 year old driver pretty much, it now has 3.7gigs.
