“We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about.” - Albert Einstein
I actually am quite shy to post this, cause I know my computer isn't nearly as nice as most people's here. Also, technically I don't have it yet. My parts won't arrive till Monday probably.
CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K
GPU: EVGA GTX 460 (Thanks Gulliver for the recommendation to stay away from the SE)
RAM: 4GB DDR3 RAM (easily upgradable, but is it worth it right now?)
MOBO: GIGABYTE P67A-D3-B3 (I know, it's no Asus)
PSU: XFX| PRO550W P1-550S-XXB9 RTL (Thanks Omega329 for the recommendation)
DRIVES: Seagate Momentus XT 500Gb (Not a pure ssd, but the hybrid will do for now...plus I get to say the word hybrid)
CASE: Thermaltake V3 BE Tower
MONITOR+RES: Acer S231HL 23'' 1080p 1920x1080
So that's it. That's what I'll be playing D3 with. You know, before I decided on my rig, I was patient for D3. Now that I'm so close to putting all together, I seriously do feel a bit irritable the game's not out already.

You will run it at max no problems yeah. The ram is not worth upgrading anytime really. Mayyybe for BF3, but Id wait to see how optimized it really is.
How's your MOBO working out for you? I keep reading mixed things about Gigabyte's as I'm trying to feel better about the one I got.
Gigabyte is a good brand for many things. I wouldnt worry if you are, about your purchase. My friend bought an MSI board and it wouldnt even post. Turns out all the 1 egg reviews on Newegg were because the board was 'dead' and wouldnt even boot, so bblablabbla.

MOBO: Whatever the hell the default is in the Sony Vaio VPCEB390X, I can't find this anywhere.
PSU: 19.5V Sony AC Adapter
DRIVES: Toshiba MK5056GSY (500GB)
CASE: Sony Vaio
MONITOR+RES: Asus VH232H, 1920x1080
Gets the job done, even at work where I do a fair amount of gaming. Can run SC2 at max settings (apart from Anti-Aliasing) so I imagine it will be adequate for Diablo 3. Really I'm just hoping for a new sound system by then, perhaps with a mini-equalizer + tube amp? And the Steelseries mouse! I'll be set for years of demon slaying.
Heh. You guys have a sad definition of dinosaurs. Let's take a look at the 2 PC in my house right now, and we still have no money to upgrade (I'm only upgrading because I got lucky and me and my friend won 2000$). I don't know the finer detail of those 2 computers, so forgive me.
CPU: 3.4 Ghz (1 core only)
GPU: GeForce 8500 GTX
RAM: 2 GB
MOBO: ???
PSU: 400 watt I think
DRIVES: DVD reader, with -no- burning.
CASE: Some useless junk thats really hard to toy with.
MONITOR+RES: 17 inch CRT screen with 1024x768 resolution (almost highest non-stretched resolution available). Low tech, old, but true gamers have CRTs.
Lets take a look at the real dinosaur that isn't going to play it, but is also going in the trash with some luck.
CPU: 1.8 Ghz (1 core only)
GPU: GeForce 7600
RAM: 2 GB
MOBO: ???
PSU: ???
DRIVES: 3 drives that are all broken
CASE: A better case but who the heck knows what it is, its 10+ years old
MONITOR+RES: some 20 inch flat screen that I despise.
There. These are true dinosaurs and what people with -actual- money issues are stuck with. Luckily, I'm upgrading mine to this, should be here in a few days:
CASE: Antec Three Hundred Versatile Mid Tower Gamer Case
MONITOR+RES: Same CRT screen.
I think what really bugs me is people saying a quad is old, or people saying they're actually ashamed of "having a 2500k as its not good enough or something". It just bugs me. More importantly, if you're not screaming in joy with an i5-2500k then something is wrong with you.
I still need to find as job but once i do this will be my build, if not christmas money always works too.
CPU - Intel Core i7 2600k 3.3 GHz or Ivy Bridge 3.0GHz+ when it hits stores.
Mobo Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z Z68 Chipset
GPU - Sapphire 6950 flashed to 6970 xfired with a Visiontek 6970.
Ram - G.Skill 16GB (4x4Gb) DDR3 1600MHz
HDD for video recording, 2x Samsung Spinpoint F3 1tb in Raid 0
HDD for storage - 2x WD Caviar Black 2TB Sata III drive in Raid 1
SSD for Boot/Games - Corsair Force 3 GT 120GB
Monitor, Dell u2711 @ 2560x1440 @ 60Hz, Not the u3011 simply because when playing games 16:9 aspect ratio is better than 16:10, 16:9 will give you a wider viewing than 16:10.
Case - Corsair Obsidian 800D, With all Fan slots Filled with Red LED fans Nice glow effect
PSU Corsair 1200AX
Drive - Lite-ON Bluray drive
I'm eventually going to liquid cool this but that'll put me at 4k and right now i'd rather get a new monitor, mines 4 years old and lacking right now.

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
Thats a nice setup mate, but issent the 800d abit to big for it :P? Atleast you wouldent have to wory about the airflow...
When I get Enough money i will be water cooling the system, so I'd like the space for the 360mm rad on the top and a 140mm rad on the back, and room to mount the res and pump on the case.
