I remember seeing this some time ago but I just came across it once again and thought some of you who might be interested.
This game will be pure ecstacy... Diablo 3 better top it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HulGLXco6g
The game company was just recently bought out by Intel. So now they'll probably have tons of ressources available to make this game live up to its teaser videos.
Let's all hope that diablo3 uses a top notch game engine. Technology is advancing at an incredible pace. We can now purchase a computer that can run wow for less than 300$. Nvidia 8800 gtx graphics cards now sell for about 200$. And a new line of graphics cards are right around the corner. Now with so many MMO in the works the only way diablo3 will compete and attract people in its direction is if the graphics are tremendously alluring.
We know what happened with Starcraft Ghost; blizzard had to drop the project because it ran on an outdated engine. Let's hope they don't repeat the same mistake.
By the time diablo 3 is released your general computer will easily be able to run Crysis; the latest Direct 10 FPS game. So graphically, if Diablo3 is going to make a significant imprint on the gaming community it has to be as good or better than crysis. Note that by the time D3 is released the game will most likely be at least two years older than crysis.
Wow that is cool. I would love a Diablo game like that. Except, I like being able to look at my character all the time, cause I'm just vein like that.
The only thing that looks slightly bad is the guy's cloak. Games have yet to make a nice flowing cloak that sits perfectly and realistically on characters. I think they just need to make them a bit heavier, the cloaks/capes look like there isn't much gravity. (From the first video, atleast)
Edit: It reminds me of Oblivion. Except, Oblivion's graphics aren't as good. They glow too much, and the faces are still too round and chubby.
And there's no way my computer would be able to play it lol. It can't even maximise the full potential of Diablo II LoD.
Rakion? Yeh I don't know, use to be able to play it then I couldn't yet none of my hardware changed. It's probably because of the huge server attack on Softnyx some dude did.
