ok, like the title says, which movie has the best battle cuts? which ones are most realistic, or just awesome? by the way, this only counts old war styles, not fights with guns. if you wish to nominate some, please do.
i voted for 300 (which i watched and found very decent). They made fighting with spears look very spectacular. You could also add Troy as the battles looked fine. Only the story was completely messed up.
if its part of your nations history you do care about it. messing it up usually pisses me off. Thank God 300 even though it had some fantasy features (was from a comic that was inspired by the real story even) was pretty close to what really happened. Troy on the other hand really fucked up history.
v for vendetta was a pretty stupid movie in my opinion, so i will disregard that comment since it doesnt even meet the thread discussion.
of course, i LOVE LOTR. the battles set a standard in graphicness and realism to it. braveheart i put in since it is a classic, and they did a pretty good job. 300 was the most masterful in utilizing what they had to use, most graphic of the whole battle, had reality to it but was able to make it also seem so much more epic, and very brutal.
of course, i chose 300, but if not 300 it would be LOTR all the way.
if im not mistaken the spartans often fought in the nude
That's because the fact that the Spartans' genitals dwarf that of any Asian's.
300 had a better battle scene than any other movie just because of the way they filmed it. One of my more favorite parts is when a Spartan dropkicks one of the immortals. Another was when Leonidas broke from the pack, slicing up all the dudes that charged at him.
we cant forget the battle in the PSP episode of south park, lol "this battle is 10 times more epic than the one at the end of Lord of the rings"
LOTR was good.
Havent seen 300 yet, but its looks awesome/epic.
Troy, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and Alexander were ok, not the best but they werent too bad.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
I didn't like the way Braveheart was done. It just didn't appeal to me. Also, the fact that Mel Gibson is a pretentious asshole gives me less reason to like his movies.
My Lord Elfen, i apologize that you were put through the torture of something so dispicable as Kingdom of Heaven. i thought it an atrocity as a film, since the message was so based on loving your enemies and happiness. after all, arabs didnt take jerusalem and then celebrate for the english leaving. the english werent treated as heroes for giving up. and nor should that ever be the case.
back to the conversation, 300 was great. my favorite part was the first battle, when the persians are running and the spartans hold the line and start to be pushed back. then they stop and you hear "PUSH!!" and persians start flying backward. when Leonydas breaks forward and plows through persians is also very great.
Xerces-"Let us share our cultures."
Leonydas-"I agree, we've been sharing ours with you all day"
300, i mean is there really any other choice? all 300 had was the fighting, no real story accept to fight for freedom... the action scenes were the best hands down.

Angus the peasant saw the necromancer raising the rotting remains and ran away. Since then he told the tale of how he narrowly escaped the necromancer he called "juicy bones".

haha, racial profiling now... not that I have any defense for asians
do you think the spartan's would have flashed their butt's turning their backs to their opponent's on purpose?
scotsmen, its to taught your opponent.
