So apart from waiting for D3, in my real life, i study (studied) Industrial Design. So for my graduate project, i designed a United Nations supplies transporter.
So if you are interested, please read on and then follow my link to my concept page!
Thanks in advance!!
BRIEF INTRODUCTION:
A.N.T. Aid Necessities Transporter
The A.N.T is designed to enhance humanitarian organizations such as the United Nations for transportation of food, water, medical supplies and housing units to disaster stricken areas. Having swift as well as all-terrain capabilities, the A.N.T incorporates a new efficient system of distribution running on two modes of transportation
Please continue onto my design page HERE for the whole project, infomation, pictures and animation.
I actually really like the concept of it, though I'm curious as to where the engine would be situated, there doesn't seem to be any room to house an engine that could pull a fucking mobile home.
edit: Hot damn, just got to the part with in-wheel motors, smart!
The A.N.T will be accessed differently depending in which mode it is in. Because of its unique suspension, when entering or exiting the vehicle in its transport mode, the vehicle will kneel down placing the driver closer to ground level. The glass canopy will then split in two whilst the driver seat will extend out further lowering the driver to ground level. In rapid mode, the vehicle simple lowers itself to ground level, while the glass canopy splits in two. From here, the driver simply climbs in and out using steps and handles built into the frame itself.

lol, yeah in-wheel motors is gonna be the future! And if people are wondering, man, inwheel motors cant power that thing, well.. its a future concept, technology will get better.. and i left enough room to speculate the power vs size of the wheel.
btw, thx a billion for the spelling error.. lol i can draw but cant spell. Thanks for liking the project
That is impressive to say the least. Now that you are done studying the subject, what are you doing with these impressive skills?
Thank you Mm.. well i have begun job hunting of coarse after a good long break. I am situated in Melbourne Australia and the only two automotive companies here are Holden and Ford.
Ive been to some interviews already so now im just waiting for call backs The automotive industry just started improving since the GFC so theres more of a chance now which is good.
But ultimately after automotive experience for a couple of years, i wanna get into entertainment design, so designing for movies and games like District 9.
So you're an industrial designer huh? What does that actually mean? Can you design the motors and other technical stuff too for it?
This is great, as it will take away yet another excuse to not to help others... that might be a little hypocritical of me to say as I once dreamt of becoming an engineer that designs guns
Thanks! Yeah, a lot of people actually never really heard of industrial design. They think people in that discipline designs like buildings and stuff. But what we do, simply speaking, every physical thing you see around you. We design vehicles, phones, beds, furniture, toys, tvs, shelters.. pretty much everything. We however dont really get into motors since those are more engineering, but we do study a bit into that. Ultimately in a design studio.. we will be the ones generating the initial design, then we will be going back and forth with engineers to make it work
Ah dood, ive always have the dream of designing guns.... which is why the only way i can prob do it, is to be an entertainment designer in the future.. guns for movies and games hehe.
I wanted to say something positive, but then I saw your sig, and my enthusiasm died... but it WAS there... that's all that matters.
lol. dont hate on skimpy clad asian girls
well anyways, there seems to be a lot of moving parts in this design, which is always a bad thing when u talk about endurance. was this just a prototype thing that was supposed to look cool? either way i can see it being something from a halflife game or something

aww.. theres nothing wrong with a sig like that. I see it more as art than provocative stuff. Check out this artist.. She does anime style photography and in moment shot.. really cool stuff! Thanks!! http://ana-lee.livejournal.com/122540.html

Umm.. well.. a prototype can also look cool! lol..
Well its a Industrial design automotive project. So its a concept for the future. Simply speaking, you identify a problem, and then you go through a huge design process to find a possible solution.
But, because its a uni grad project, of coarse i wanted to put some "cool" to it since you dont get much chance to spend this much time on a project.
In regards to moving parts, true, however like construction vehicle, they too have many moving parts. Even in a car itself. All the movement in this vehicle was necessary to achieve what it does. Thank you for your feedback!
