So I was just preparing myself as Starcraft II is almost coming out and Diablo III will not-so-soon follow and took a look at Blizzard Store to see how they fare about selling digital copies of their games.
But, for my surprise, the few titles that had an option of a digital download sale were charged the same price as their retail versions.
Thy is that for? I mean, who would possibly want to pay the same for a download as the box, printed manual, CD/DVD pretty case AND ALSO the possibility of downloading it again anytime in the new Battle.net?
Also, the price charged for old titles is too high considering other means of buying them. Take Warcraft III for example, it is charged 19,99 for classic and another 19,99 for the expansion (both digital and retail), but you can see them around for like 9,99 in those "Best Game Collections" even in Brazil, where I live.
Why is that for? Digital sale is a lot cheaper for everyone, they don't have to print anything, deliver anything, pay any third-party services. I worry about this because I am planning on buying Starcraft II right when it comes out, and thougt that digital download would be cheaper because I live in another country which would probably charge a lot more for the game and probably would take some weeks to officially have it in the stores.
