Umm if that was serious, i shall admit that i'm kind to mostly everyone and sometimes excessive kindness drips from my mouth.
But some people on here, while trying to make people respect them just make other people put them in their bad books.
All i'm saying is we're not here to care about who respects us. All we should do is do actions which are helpful or for the benefit of others. [if gaining respect is so necessary]
Its not like you come here and i hand you a list of points for which you should respect me. won't it make you rather disrespect me.

I think this is actually amazing. Most people here have never met, and have conversed mainly through forums and chatting. On lives outside of this, this forum has little to no direct impact. Yet the massive conflicts, discussions and interactions that sprawl here seem neverending. It's very interesting at times to think about.
I've actually sensed at time that the ones I've gotten in the most arguments with are the ones I'd probably get along with fine in real life. While the ones who often agree with me on the forums I may actually have little to nothing in common with in real life.
Oh, no, I'm not saying that... Well, maybe I was, but have since changed my mind. The ultimate point of these forums is to circulate news about a possible Diablo 3 and any other Diablo related news, as well as some other things (I.E. the clan here, and the respective forums for SC and WC/WoW), but also, people's words will not be listened to correctly or heeded if the person saying them has no respect from other people. Bias is a terrible thing, it can turn even the most logical sentences in to a deadly viper's bite.
Now that I think of it, I have an example. It's kind of like how someone tries to keep a thread on topic, but the offenders hold no respect for the person, and thus do not listen to her/him. They can be right, but with the proper dosage of "I hate you" pills, no one will hear the person, no matter how right he/she is. I think that might be a little clearer?

Personally i disagree with that.
If the statement the guy has made makes sense we would listen to the guy. whether he be or not be in my good books.
Leaving aside one or three people.

But not everyone here is as opened minded as you, Zubin. To assume everyone here, or even the majority, posses that gift would not be right. I would bring up an example here, but it would be too controversial, I feel, and I don't want to start something in this thread, when we're trying to welcome somebody to the forums

Meh, people should be given respect at the point of them being unidentified. The whole idea of "earning respect" is complete bullcrap. Some new member has to earn respect? From whom? What about THOSE people earn HIS respect, first?
Well, since the newcomers are coming to an already established community, it's up to him/her to show that they can exist together with the community. That doesn't mean newcomers should be discriminated against, only that they have to adapt to this forum, not the other way around.

Good. Naming people puplically is a bad habit on these forums.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

What if the majority of the community sucks and only a few people are normal?
You know, it's like high school. It's full of idiots but they all expect you to respect them for their idiocy, while only a few people are actually worth "adapting to".

If that's the case, there isn't much reason to be on the forum now is there? However, if you do decide to stay anyway, you can either adapt, or you can refuse and take whatever consequences that may bring about. Just as always.

(1.You guys are saying the same thing I said. Respect is earned, not just handed out.)
(2. And you haven't been here long enough to know what I've done. Then again, you don't care and neither do the rest).
(3. Perhaps I should be less abrasive and more neutral so that you all respect me more?)
1.) You said something about being here longer though.
2.) If I haven't been here long enough to know what you've done, I'd like to know. I don't care if it's for SICK, but if it's for me/a friend/the forum, I would care.
3.) That's not a reason why I don't respect you, for the record.

Can you pick one thread? Lol. You guys are arguing in 3 different threads. I mean, I'm all for dedication, but give it a rest, or just make a thread for the sake of the argument. And you should say, 'I argue with who I want to argue with.' I imagine you would have trouble getting in a political argue with a lamp. But whatever, have fun!:D

He's a kid that likes to go against elders because he feels more like a grownup when he does it. 13<18. But yea, he flip-flops too much, not very reliable as a buddy or a friend, and he can get extremely annoying. Therefore, out of sight, out of mind
I'm a kid that goes against whatever I dis-agree with, Carlo. I agree 18 > 13 normally, but like I said I'm different, believe it or not My age... seriously has nothing to do with this. Normally it would but it doesn't. Also, we never have really been friends, just talked a bit on Xfire and MSN but not really friends. So you wouldn't know. You only think I'm annoying because I dis-agree with you... A LOT
