Sorry if this should be in the wow section just thought I might get more responces here!!
Got nothing to do with 99% of my time....D2 isnt all that fun anymore regardless of how much I love the damm game Theres NOTHING I have left to accomplish in it at this point. Dota is fun as fuck but I aint the best at it.....So what do you guys think?
Just like I tell all the WoW fans I know; go study mathematics, sciences, meet girls, or do something creative with your time. WoW isn't a creative way to waste your time (neither is Diablo, btw).

Lol good advice....but ive done all that for years in school....I just need something to waste my time with right now....wow is so damm tempting now to....argh...but it costs moneys and takes up ALL my time...im so conflicted XD
Anyone over the age of 16 who plays WoW you'll find is generally depressed and trying to escape the real world. I've known on a fairly good basis in real life and online about 20 people who play the game a lot, and they all go through the same pattern with it. It's a good escape from reality. Firstly, it's just a game. Secondly, it's complete fantasy. Third, it's easy to get into. Forth, it has practically limitless possiblities.
I wouldn't call it a social disease, because I think if people weren't play WoW, they'd still be wasting their time in some other way, like watching tons of DVDs or just posting on message boards online () and in all fairness, it IS social. It's an MMORPG. Millions of real people play it, and they interact with their clans and on skype and shit. It's just the fact it's social in a not so great way.
WoW won't end the world or anything, it just keeps the more depressed and wirthdrawn members of society occupied. The problem is just that they get too comfortable in their unrealistic fantasy life and won't want to leave it.
Hence why I tell you to "waste your time" with something that is equally fun, but isn't as addictive or fucked up. Go out with your friends or something..a lot of places are plenty of fun and require little to no cash at all.

Everything in small doses is good. WoW is VERY different than Diablo. Even when I was "addicted" to Diablo, I never spent more than what..an average of 2-3 hours a day? If the game is completely new and I can't wait to play it, sure I'd play 5-6 hours the first few days. Too much of anything is harmful, which is why gamers who get easily addicted are generally loopy and wear glasses. I only play Heroes and Diablo really, and I play quite moderatly. When I was younger, I played considerably more, mainly because social life back then is very limited. Now I have a girlfriend, quite a lot of friends, and with that comes a big social life..leaving little time for video games and internet most of the time. You get what I mean, don't you ?
not bad advice...but most of my friends r gone married or moved away.....nothin to do anymore really......really im just looking for a time sink i guess and im sick of most games

Well don't you think thats up to him to decide? You don't know his character so you are unable to judge how he would play wow.
I've played wow sometimes for 8 hours at a time but im not a super antisocial kid either, nor do i wear glasses.
I have 20/20, i bench 270 and run an 11.3 in the 100 meter(not bragging cuz tht would be silly, simply trying to show you someone can play 8 hour wow periods and still be normal contrary to your belief), I think the populous of wow varies....

I'm talking in general, I'm not saying "every single goddamn WoW player fits this stereotype" so don't get me wrong, please. I know gorwn ass men, pretty normal too, that upon CONTACT with WoW, turn into the stereotypical nerd.
if you got time to spend on raids - count 3-4 hours on that - then go ahead. If not it might be fun to level your main and alts, do some casual dungeons and heroics, some PvP too, but you miss out on the good stuff.
Warhammer Online is better for casual gamers just for the "leveling while doing pvp" part of the game.

I did all raids in vanilla and pre BC...only made it to the 4 horsemen in vanilla tho nvr got full t3 :(....so I know all about how raids work
The leveling wont bother me ive done it a million times
The only worry I have is that now with the expac out for a bit and all my buddies have long cleared all 10 and 25 man raids once i hit 80 there aint gonna be a raid spot for me on any server cept for shit guilds at this point lol....if it wasnt for this worry id jump right in and be 80 in a matter of days :P...im really used to being on top of all the current raids so that would suck balls
I've taken a day or so to consider the original poster's question, and have decided that, no, you shouldn't.
I have also decided that no I should not :P.....I happened to do all the raids on my friends main tank in his guild......wow.....they were very easy....I did naxx at 60 so that helped....but that and the 2 other t7 raids should not be this easy lmfao
Most of these comments are silly, the game style changes a lot with quests and such. And they have yet to release the real lvl 80 content. Its really fun and Blizz did a good job with the expansion.
Yes the raids are easy right now but do you really think this is the main content? The game will get hard as the real raid content comes out.
Are you really that naive that you think this is it? Its like saying Diablo 3 is gonna be a rainbow pink pony fest based on the demo when they clearly stated it was going to be very dark...Idono, maybe it will be easy cake but somehow I doubt the WOW staff is going to make the real content easy.

having only played WOW once, (i didnt even make it through the 10 day free trail)
I would have to say no , because by the time you have attained anything substantial, you are not going to want to stop playing when D3 SC2 and all the other epic games come to be.

They actually said nothing on the level of SWP will be made again....I mean hell man all the T4 content while overtuned at release could still present SOMEWHAT of a challenge to people even when some nerfs were done......but I went into the T7 content without barely a clue of new abilities even and I was MT LOl......barely anyhting went wrong it was a joke....Im sure t8 and t9 is gonna be harder but I cant see it ever again being challenging like it used to be

since you are experienced in raiding you shouldnt have that much of a hard time getting to a decent raiding guild. Gearing up with epics from heroics (badges and drops) is pretty simple these days, there's even quite a few Naxxramas pugs these days that finish the dungeon (mostly the 10 man, but its good to give you good chances for the bigger guilds).
Anyway, in my guild its always skill over gear and attitude over skill, so its worth a shot to try it.
Well im back on...not getting on my old pally tho....I cant stand the idea of seeing all my old friends in new T7/8 or w/.e gear is the best now....so im rerolling on a new server with friends....if anyone wishes to join simply gimmie a PM......going to be hitting 80 ASAP and raiding ASAP
