World of Warcraft is a great game, however the reason I think you should stay away from it (and why I'm mad at Blizzard ) is because it is addicting. This video is an actual broadcast from BBC explaining my argument.
What is normal? Normal is a concept that everyone or a majority of people are the same or similar. However, we know that everyone is unique. If everyone is unique, then everyone is different. If everyone is different, then everyone is weird. If everyone is weird, then everyone is normal.
Ok, so it's addicting. Well, we shouldn't eat suger then either, because sugar also generates an addicting effect. Ban Coke and candy!
What BBC shows is far from the truth of the general public. It is one individual amongst many. This kid wouldn't be "normal" had he never played World of Warcraft, the reason he gets stuck so much is because something in his life isn't as satisfactory as for most other people. Perhaps his dad died when he was young, perhaps he hates his mother, perhaps he gets bullied, whatever. The reason anyone plays WoW excessively is because they feel it's rewarding, and anyone playing it too much cannot get that rewarding feeling outside of the game to the same extent as people who manage to keep their playing down. That's one reason I think, the other being that sometimes you start to feel an obligation to hepl your guild, even though it isn't very fun at all times. Which in essence "forces" you play in order not to get kicked from the guild.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

I think Phrozen is pretty correct about why people play WoW so much. Their lives are broken. It's quite understandable - people pressure you all day and make fun of you, why not play WoW where you can be what you want yourself to be? That's a very strong aspect that attracted people to such games. Considering how much crap life has to offer to some people...
It surprises me, tho, I don't consider myself a very involved person, but I don't get sucked into games... my schoolwork always comes first.

I think that's a pretty accurate description of me as well. I don't exactly like who I am... but in video games I can be someone of importance. I think it is important to note while that may not be a bad thing, schoolwork should ALWAYS come first.

Lol. Yes, your the sole hero who can save your faction(excluding the other 5 million other heros). Very epic if you ask me.
Life sucks, it always has, and it always will. And games are good to get away from it all, but in the end you still have to face the problem anyway. Things don't just go away.
Yeah, i played the trial for a day and then stopped. I knew someone that was addicted. After he would come from school he would play it from 3 - 10 PM. On the weekends, he would play from 10AM - 1PM, Eat, then whenever he finished eating till whenever he went to bed, usually around midnight.

Not true. Life doesn't suck, life IS. But some people have worser lives than others, by their own meter. It depends on how you look at life, rather than your situation itself.
No, i have no problem with giving it up for a day, week, month, 3 months. When i have things to do, i do them.
I have seen that video also, but its nothing as bad as that one chinese kid who killed himself, and his suicide note said that said he wanted to join the hero's of the game he loved (or something like that)

I am not a fan of Jazz music.
on a good day.... Optimistic and freedom-loving Jovial
and good-humored Honest and straightforward
Intellectual and philosophical
On a bad day.... Blindly optimistic and careless
Irresponsible and superficial Tactless and restless
been playing for 3 full years hardcore. By this i dont mean just leveling (3 characters at max level at first, now 4 with a 5th one coming), but also hardcore raiding (5-6 hours raid without counting the preparation in consumables). Now i only play casually as often as i want/can (which is less than 1 day/week).
If you want to reduce your time, you can. It does feel good to achieve things in WoW, but its nothing you cant quit if you have something better to do with your time.
Yeah, thats true. Once someone experiences something outside of video gaming thats really fun, they might find that there are more out there, its not hard to do, you just gotta have the will power to leave your computer (rather then just to get something to eat). I found that Fairly simple tho, seeing as after i got over my obsession with Diablo 2, i never really got obsessed with games anymore.

It's so annoying, if I am getting my ass kicked and I decide to retreat (yeh, not exactly the most heroic move, but whatever), and then they chase me ofr a while I don't mind that, but a melee character somehow hits me, and they are a mile (1.6 Kilometres) away, they are a goddamn melee character!!
Well that and the fact that after a point, the game because virtually impossible to solo. What if none of my friends are online and random people on the net are being jackasses and belittling me instead of helping me quest and level? You basically either have to sit on your ass and wait for your firends to come online, or solo, or not play the game.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
I liked your decription.
My ex (Who paid for it.) wasn't too happy either...
