I liked warcraft when you could build a base camp and then lauch attacks on your enemies. Too bad they stoped doing that after Warcraft 3. I forget the name of that kind of gameplay.
What do you guys think?

I like the life I lived, because I went from negative to positive.
You know very well who you are, don't let them hold you down, reach for the stars.
rts. If you liked that but got bored of wc3, pick up a starcraft battle chest. it is way better than warcraft in every single way. it even requires better strategy. (rts = real time strategy)
I liked warcraft3 but someoen keeps finding out my cd key and i stoped trying to play

I don't get it what are we talking about. Are we talking about who likes warcraft, What other RTS's are there or How it sucks that they stopped making RTS warcrafts after Warcraft 3?
all of the above rolled in every post lol.......yea i definatly like starcraft way better...not to take anything away from warcraft but starcraft is one of my fav games behind diablo of course
Well then to answer all those questions Warcraft is awesome so is Starcraft, but I prefer Warcraft and they should most definately make the next Warcraft an RTS.
Warcraft needs another RTS, and I'll break them down as they fall in my mind:
WC3: Custom Maps= reasonably good.
More people play
Heros
Micro
Starcraft: Not enough people play
No good custom maps
Races are far more differant
Oddly enough, the AI seems to be better, at least in Campaign mode
Sofa...I don't get it, you have more good things for Warcraft... and yet you say Starcraft is better... and plus you have an all capitals AMAZING in the warcraft area...

Heroes and Micro could have been meant as negatives, and diverse races can be positive. The fact that many or few people play a game doesn't really affect the quality of the game itself, only the experience of it.
If put in that perspective, the only clearly good thing about WC3 would be custom maps, and the only clearly bad thing about SC would be a lack of custom maps. Now if that's what Sofawall meant, I have no idea
As for myself, I enjoyed (and sometimes still do) Warcraft 3, however I never got anywhere in any RTS games. I seem to suck at them far too much.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Honestly when I think of online WC3, I think of DOTA. And when I get on, I see about 50 games of DOTA.
When I think of online SC, I think of clans, of people, of Defense maps, of RPG maps, of text style RPG maps, of assault maps, and of hundreds of more of different kinds of maps.
I really don't see how you say there are more custom maps for WC3 then there are for SC.
In my personal opinion, WC3 is for offline play while SC is for online play. No contest about it. I honestly don't get how DOTA has survived for so long as almost the only WC3 game played.
Whats even funnier is that they have SC style games on WC3. I played Starcraft Zone Control" on WC3. Kinda sad when a newer game is emulating a older game...
That's probably because you play custom maps. A lot of people play melee WC3.
And there are tons of more custom maps for WC3. The editor is the most powerful yet user-friendly construction tool I've ever encountered. Anyone can build a melee map, but it also offers millions of ways to customize it to your pleasure.
Now I don't know how Starcraft works on Battle.net, but the reason for more diverse maps is probably because a real emulation of DotA cannot be made in the Starcraft editor. Don't worry though, Blizzard is putting in triggers for the new StarEdit so DotA will be playable in SC2
And why would WC3 be for off-line play? Can you give any reason except for the fact that you like Starcraft more? Beyond the campaign, it's dull to platy against the computer in WC3. Battle.net is what makes it fun.
Either way, DotA is far from the only game played, only the most popular. You can always find several DotA games running, but also Vampirism, Rabbit vs Sheep, Green TD, Stronghold, Angel Arena, Tree Tag. And if you can't, host the damn map. It's not that hard.
And it's not the gamer emulating an older, it's a bored played who probably liked SC a lot better, but thinks it sucks today, and so has some fun in trying to create a Starcraft map. And the fact that it can be done is another point in favor of the diversity of the Warcraft custom maps.

And Winston, just because there are more points in WC doesn't mean those points are nessecarily big ones. I mean, the AI in WC is absolute SHIT.
