Metalcore, Screamo, Hardcore, and such are not acceptable amidst the Metal community, which is why all elitists hate them and their fans. Deathcore, Deathgrind, Coregrind, Death, Black, Thrash, Traditional, Progressive, Folk, some Power, Heavy and such are all considered to be perfectly fine and completely artistic and talent demanding. I repeat..to each his own.
I'll consider that. Being in 3 forums, staffed in 2, doesn't really help my case.
Yeah, check it out. I have a friend on that forum who is a metalhead but he looks nothing like a metalhead, the very little I know about metal is from him
Also, wtf is Sludge Metal (Saw it on wikipedia)
Do you like Dream Theater, Crossbreed, Anaal Nathrakh, Or Acid Bath?

I am not a fan of Jazz music.
on a good day.... Optimistic and freedom-loving Jovial

Intellectual and philosophical
On a bad day.... Blindly optimistic and careless
Irresponsible and superficial Tactless and restless
1. Black Sabbath
2. Iron Maiden
3. Led Zeppelin
4. The Beatles
5. Metallica
I would have included Vladimir Vysotsky (Russian Singer), but he's not really a ''band''
When I was a kid I used to really like power metal, but I can't listen to it anymore : the cheesiness is killing me. Some songs are still good tough because of the melody, the riffs and the solos.
That's when I started rediscovering the old metal bands ( Which partially explains the list above ).
Right now I'm randomly exploring some branches of metal as well as some punk. Have been listening to Kalmah, The Distillers, Queens of the Stone Age, Tvangeste, Billy Talent and Naiv (polish punk band) this month.
Vox, although it's a generally cheesy genre, some bands are actually good, though said bands have several Prog elements which make them appeal to me more. Try Symphony X, Blind Guardian, and Arxturus (they aren't Power, but they're great regardless).
Wait..when you're saying "music", are you refering to Metal? Because if you are, your argument can be totally destroyed.
If you're talking about SOME sub-genres of Metal, then my answer would be: to each his own I guess. Everybody likes what best expresses him and his thoughts, and serves as an outlet to his general mindset. This is why hear such comments as "True Metalheads are generally assholes who are always pissed off, and NSYNC fans are generally closet homosexuals who kiss each other when noone is looking". Y'know?
notice the bands i listed before?
and where did this come, it just sort of feels thrown in there....

I tried Symphony X once, didn't really like. Maybe I should try again. I do know Blind Guardian, it was one of the main power metal bands I listened to. Never heard of Arxturus.
It's weird how, besides the general reasons, everyone has his own very specific reasons for liking/disliking a band. The Prog elements probably won't override the fact that a band is cheesy for me. Or at least not for now.
Black Metal maybe some Death

Rise and rise again, until lambs become lions
My Favorite is Prog.
Screamo is just....no..
Many people like Progressive. Personally, it's pretty high up on my list. Arcturus, Opeth, and Wintersun are pretty good.
Screamo is LOL worthy. Seeing all the emotionally oppressed teens drool over it never gets old.

Do you like Job For a Cowboy? Queer Bait imo
