honestly i dont blame god for this, that would be like just blaming him again for your problems. i blame the people damnit, the ones for use religion for personal game, or a way to make a arguement. It was used as a reason for 9/11 it was used as a reason for the crusades.
lol . no way the crusades have got nothin to do with religion man!
The Crusades were a series of military campaigns of a religious character waged by much of ChristianEurope against external and internal opponents. Crusades were fought mainly against Muslims, though campaigns were also directed against paganSlavs, Jews, Russian and Greek Orthodox Christians, Mongols, Cathars, Hussites, and political enemies of the popes.[1] Crusaders took vows and were granted an indulgence for past sins.[1] The Crusades originally had the goal of recapturing Jerusalem and the Holy Land from Muslim rule and were launched in response to a call from the Eastern OrthodoxByzantine Empire for help against the expansion of the Muslim Seljuk Turks into Anatolia. The term is also used to describe contemporaneous and subsequent campaigns conducted through to the 16th century in territories outside the Levant[2] usually against pagans, heretics, and peoples under the ban of excommunication[3] for a mixture of religious, economic, and political reasons.[4] Rivalries among both Christian and Muslim powers led also to alliances between religious factions against their opponents, such as the Christian alliance with the Sultanate of Rum during the Fifth Crusade.
I am not a christian, like my parents, for my own reasons. Many of those reasons include bigotry, betrayal and the overall darkness of the human race. I used to believe in what jesus/god meant (saviour, most holy, etc) but have deviated since because of what i have seen within mankind. The pure ability of being evil as if it were instinct sickens me.
Hipocracy, amongst other things led me to believe in science, and that man is an animal like any other, only with the ability to create and discuss. What i do believe is: something extremely clever created the universe/there was a jesus christ (although more of an example than a saviour to me)/there are things in this world i have seen and experienced that i cannot explain.
Furthermore, what happens when you die? i used to think you go either to heaven or hell, like most ppl do. Not so much anymore.
I also do not believe in the devil as much as i believe in the capability of being the devil is in everyone.
BOTTOM LINE: I believe something created all this, layed the first brick, cast the first stone. Lead your life as jesus did by example and you will be happy.
I only hope that one day i can meet whoever/whatever created all this, he's got a lotta answers to cover from a lotta ppl.
DISCLAIMER: the opinions of this post are my own, i have a non-stopping brain with the inability to relax, i do not cordone my beliefs on anyone! i uphold truthful respect to all religions and the teachings they contain. --**end of being serious for now**--
Well, as for Jesus, it is my oppinion that there was a Jesus, but not the same Jesus as is in the Bible. I personally believe that the Jesus of the Bible is akin to King Aurthur, many good men being compiled into one man.
i dont believe in god or any religion... if there is an event that shows me a white light its just a hallucination or dream i am studying the sciences i believe in the sciences and that there is no higher being jesus christ was a fictional character that some dude made up and put in a ficticious childrens book to give their lives meaning... but the catholic faith blew this childs tale way the fuck out of proportion... dont block me because im correct and u feel threatened by me and that im swaying ur beliefs... just accept that fact that you are like every other animal on this planet... u live breed and die.

Do you think im retarded? I know that, everyone who has ever been in 6th grade knows that, im just saying religion was used as a main reason to go to war, which is not a very good reason at all.
Because there can be no winner, one side isnt suddenly going to go "ohhhh we were wrong" that's with most wars but it's espically for religious ones.
God and the idea of jesus is completely fake and taken from egyptian pagan ideas. For info on this go to zeitgeistmovie.com and watch the beginning 20 minutes of the movie.

Yea, the current day Christianity is taken from many other religions. It's interesting to study the past...

where is that in the bible? i havent read all of it but i know the main stories.
There's a ton of fucked up shit in the Bible. Btw, the someone who said the quote you mentioned earlier is "Karl Marx".
And to whoever was talking about Atheism as a "fad." You are an idiot.
I'm personally an Atheist, and I have a good amount of evidence that has shaped my reasoning. Still, even if someone else' personal beliefs differ from my own, it's not right to tell someone, "You are wrong." You shouldn't present your beliefs in a manner that speaks as such, and I'm addressing members of both sides of the spectrum.
Atheism as has been around prominently since 33 A.D. Definition wise, it's be un-fadded.
I too am in the school of thought that anything is possible. I grew up Catholic-Christian myself, there are instances when I do acknowledge my indoctrination... But I'm not a fanatic Church-goer or anything of the sort.
As for the guy saying Christianity is stolen from Egyption 'paganism' (Polytheism), you're actually citing Zeitgeist? My god, you sir are a strange person for being so skeptical towards religion yet you firmly believe every load of un-established nonfactual 'fact' in that movie. Not saying that Zeitgeist is 100% nonfactual, but it'd be like quoting Wikipedia on a University paper. Don't do it.
Case in point: Anything in the present can be seen as derived from anything in the past.
Back to my school of though: Anything is possible. It's almost asinine to disprove many religious beliefs with logic, given that the 'rules' we create are often redone due to new findings or certain revelations. And at the very least we're still human, and know but the tinniest fraction of just about anything.
On atheism, I've seen no other piece of 'evidence' nor heard anything that can debunk this, in my opinion, amazing quote.
"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?" - Epicurus.
The only answer I've ever gotten out of this from a religious person was, "God has a plan!" or something like that. There are so many holes in Christianity and religion in general... Namely everything predating 7000 B.C. or maybe even sooner.
But hell, as long as no one is going into my house inquisizing my family, and the Government isn't preaching litanies from the Bible... Then I'm fine.

Religion forces countries to war, minipulates the masses, creates a structure which society is easily controlled and regulated.
Hope gives you nothing but disappointment.
Also, one thing that just irks me about religion is the constant "Thank ____!" I didn't see any divine intervention.
