I mentioned in my intro post that I'm currently playing some Call of Duty 4 to take up some time until D3 comes out but I've still been itching for something Diablo-ish so I've been poking around some other games, such as:
Hellgate London: Not bad overall, but there are some minor things about the game that just don't mesh well with me. I can't put my finger on it, but the one thing I know I don't really care for are the player character models. UGLY.
Dungeon Siege 2: Where do I start? The first Dungeon Siege had it's charms but never really lived up to Diablo 2, or even it's own hype imo. Dungeon Siege 2 looked to correct many of the things people didn't like about the first, but for me, the game was over when I saw the absolute worst looking character models ever. I also wasn't a huge fan of the interface as I found it cumbersome to use, like I had to click in too many places to do the simplest of things. Maybe it was just me, but I never had that problem in D2/LOD.
Titan Quest: Really not too bad from what I played of it, which was only the demo because I can't find a copy of it anywhere. Also, not sure if it was because I have Vista, but the games FPS studdered every now and then which was annoying. For the record, I'm running a machine with an Intel core 2 duo @ 2.4 Ghz with 4 GB ram, and a ATI Radeon 2600 XT w/ 256 MB ram. Not a terrible machine, so, why the laggies?
Guild Wars: I get a free copy of every title they release through work and I still don't play it. Love the character models/faces and overall graphics, but the game sucks imo. Can't jump? Only 8 spells/abilities available at one time? Weird. I do love the idea about hiring NPC's to help make up your group, however.
So here I am, looking for something like Diablo to occupy my time. Are any of you still playing LOD? Should I load it back up and hope D3 is sooner rather than later?
If I play anything, I play either Diablo I or Diablo II (the LoD part is kind of assumed).
Though, I used to play Sword of the New World, but got bored just before I reached level 60 (the level I was aiming for, because at level 60 you can levitate!). lol, pretty ironic that I would get bored right before I reach my goal.
thats what I am starting to think might be my best course of action. I just wanted to hear what people are playing in case there is something out there I haven't heard of.
I'll have to load up D2 on my laptop (XP) though, I hear there are issues getting it to run on Vista (my desktop), and I don't have time to mess with it hehe.
I play Diablo 2: Eastern Sun, Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction, World of Warcraft: Private Servers, Warcraft 2, Warcraft 3, Caesar 3, Empire Earth, Maple Story (With my nephew), Starcraft: Broodwar, Starcraft: Project Revolution, trying to find Age of Empires two: Age of Kings to play, and wanting to get a mouse so I can play my FPS games.
I've yet to try Hellgate, but I soon will, along with Unreal Tournament 3. Up until now, I've played mainly Oblivion, WoW and recently (once again) Pharaoh, a brilliant city-builder from 1999 released by Sierra
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
Pharaoh is fun! I have the demo, I torrented the full game but it didn't work. Lol. It is really similar to Caesar 3, and if you like Pharaoh then I would strongly suggest you try Caesar 3.
LinkX, you play Maplestory! I used to play that, lol. I don't have it on my computer anymore though. I was a level 43 Cleric. I went by the name Atrumentis there too. I was in the basic server, forget the name, starts with 'B'.
Pharaoh, a brilliant city-builder from 1999 released by Sierra
Hey another Pharaoh fan - I have the Cleopatra expansion too. LinkX is correct - Ceaser 3 is fun to play as well.
LoD, LoD - Eastern Sun, Sacred, Sacred-Underworld, just recently started Baldurs Gate II

Smiling is infectious.
Give, expecting nothing thereof. ------------ BoD - Come have some fun! Folks will always come and go, so enjoy them while they're meant to be in your life.
Finally a person who has played Titan Quest. The same lags happened to me, and I just bought an upgrade. I just put some of the video options down to low, and it worked a little bit better. If you can not find one, just go to a local gamestop. Unless you do not have one, because that is where I got mine at.

Did you play Baldur' s Gate I?
The first of the series should really be played by everyone. If you say its too old you can just get the TUTU mod which enables you to play BG with BG II engine. I have also heard that theres a mod that combines all the games and their expansions into one big game (with BG II engine). Maybe i should replay the BG series sometime, with some mods so it doesnt get boring too soon this time  (the game is so long...)
No I haven't. Elfen got me started on BGII - we were supposed to get a few of us together and play but we had problems hosting games.
I finally made it out of dungeon - I'm in town now - lol.:D

DIABLO = DEVIL its not supposed to be a nice game autostats are rediclous lack of pots is not welcome if it aint broke dont fix it! (diablo2)
I've been playing Diablo II mostly, as I'm sure nearly everyone here has been. To be honest, it's gotten fairly boring lately, so I haven't been playing it much the past couple of weeks. Still, it's a good way to pass the time, though constantly getting junk on MF runs is really discouraging.
I've dabbled around with several free MMORPGs, like MapleStory and FlyFF, but none of them hold my interest for long. I also used to play Guild Wars, but my computer is starting to show it's age, and it slows down at the worst times, it seems.
Income taxes shall save me, though. Once a new computer is purchased, I'll be looking into getting an RTS or two, since I've never really tried one before. Based on my preferences, I'm looking at either Age of Empires II or Battle for Middle Earth II. We'll see, though.
Right now, I'm playing a cute little anime-styled MMORPG called Holic. It's not bad, since there are no stat points to worry about, and skills are automatic. You can also change your class at anytime, so it's a great game to just be able to have fun and play.
If you want a generic rts, go with Battle for whatever. If you want an RTS that is truely based off history and will hold your attention and that you will LOVE, get AoE2, and make sure to get the expansion too! Age of Kings is excelent! And you won't even realize you're learning as you play it! It's one of the best RTS's ever! (Sad that it had to be by Micro&Soft.
Oh yeah, thats right, I play Dragonfable lol. Its a web-based RPG, singeplayer, pretty good for jumping on for a minute then jumping off. and you can play it anywhere, without installing.
I don't think I'd mind a generic RTS to help me get into the genre. I've never really played one before, so I don't think I'd really be able to tell the difference anyway (though my BF has been trying to get me to play Company of Heroes, but it's too...modern for me, I guess. I like historical/fantasy stuff).
I didn't know that Age of Empires II had an expansion (shows how much research I've done, eh? ;)). I'll definitely keep that in mind, though, as I've heard some good reviews about that series.

AoE 2 is one of the best historical RTS's available. I'd suggest Empire Earth but it's a bit more complex. (It spans from the Stone Age where people fight with stones and logs to the far future with nuclear bombers and huge robots fight each other.)

Or did you want console games too?
Oh, and Mahjong Titans in Vista

Sometimes I'll still fire up some of my favorite classics like Lands of Lore, Privateer and Wing Commander 4.
