Exactly. That's what I am saying. I just don't count what we have today as "cyborg" because it's not connected to the nerves and all. Maybe if we can connect it to the nerves so the brain can move it and all then I would consider it a cyborg, otherwise they are just handycapped.

Are you kidding me? Didn't I bring up that example of metal hands that people cam move? That's connected to the muscles, at least, not sure about the nerves.

Oh? I must have missed that. x.x Wouldn't of been the first time. Lol. Could you give me a link to where you saw/read about it? It sounds pretty interesting, and I'd certainly consider them to be cyborgs.
I read about it in an encyclopedia when I was about 10. Obviously, I don't have that encyclopedia anymore since it's in Ukraine... I am pretty sure if you google it you can find something...

Wikipedia ftw.
Today, the C-LEG system is used to replace human legs that were amputated because of injury or illness. The use of sensors in the artificial leg aids in walking significantly. These are the first real steps towards the next generation of cyborgs.[citation needed]
Additionally cochlear implants and magnetic implants which provide people with a sense that they would not otherwise have had can additionally be thought of as creating cyborgs.
In 2002,under the heading Project Cyborg, a British scientist, Kevin Warwick, had an array of 100 electrodes fired in to his nervous system in order to link his nervous system into the internet. With this in place he successfully carried out a series of experiments including extending his nervous system over the internet to control a robotic hand, a form of extended sensory input and the first direct electronic communication between the nervous systems of two humans[7].
Pretty interesting. I wasn't aware that we were that far.
One issue I have with a near future robot of such magnitude is that we know so little of the human brain, its perplexing that we could even begin working on a robot with similar mental abilities to a human untill we have uncovered a good bit more of the human brain.
I look at it the other way. I say we know very little of the human brain, and have little hope of completely understanding it anytime soon the way we're going.
So, an artificial mind could be an excellent object to study. It will provide a different approach and viewpoints to the same functions for study, and if it is capable of thinking, it can even help us understand ourselves if we're lucky.

Are we not mostly made up of water?
Yup, somewhere around 60% of our bodies are pure water. And yes, we're robots. We're just not called that, since the term robot specifically refers to non-natural constructs. Meaning non-biological at this point in time.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

I would have to dissagree with that. In order to make a artificial mind we would have to make a mind. In order to know what is in a mind we would have to uncover the secrets of our own mind.

Not necessarily. We have, up to this point, made computers that can do a wide variety of tasks. None of them encompass everything that we know or do, but they do get smarter and better as the technology improves.
The things is, what we've made so far doesn't utilize the structure that our brain does. And since we don't how the brain works, we wouldn't have had much use for the same structure even had we used it. But we manage to make improvements anyway.
Perhaps you're right though. Perhaps we'll hit a wall where we cannot go beyond unless we do map the brain completely first. But I doubt that will happen, for the Universe very seldomly only gives you one way of solving things. If the first way proves a dead end, science always tries to find the alternative ways.

a processor of that magnitude within the skull of robot would need some serious cooling, you may scold your hand by just touching it. a three dimensional processor of that proportion would need to be made out of a heat retardant material or else it would simply melt. I think it would be more practical to wear exomuscular nanosuits and and have brain mapping software coupled with some sort of head gear that for instace could record important things that the brain might otherwise forget. That would truly make life easy. AI and I both have upsides and downsides that when coupled properly could possibly result in the perfect bieng, as indestructible as a machine but with all the qualitys of the human race and then some.

I think it would be better to geneticaly and mechanically improve ourselves instead of relying on an outside source.
