Guitar hero seems to narrow peoples taste in music...
Not really, pretty much all I've heard of anything that can even be vaguely called metal comes from Guitar Hero. I mostly listen to oldies that my mom blasts on the stereo downstairs.
It's unfortunate that Metallica is just a sell out piece of garbage huh?
Unfortunately for you their millions of fans, millions of album sales, 27 year career in the music industry and countless awards (including grammies, cant go any higher can than that can ya?) disagrees with you. So what if they had a few bad albums? Go find for me a band who has as many albums as them and not one of them is a little off. You can say they are sell out pieces of garbage all you want but youll never be able to back it up. They are still kicking it, still giving some of the best live performances going around, and they even got a new album due for release soon. Sell outs? Maybe with the load/reload era, or St. Anger, but not overall. Pieces of garbage? Bullshit, look at what they have achieved. Next time you make a comment like that, no matter how WRONG it may be, at least attempt to provide some evidence to assist you.
metallica hasnt put out a bad record yet, just cuz a band changes its sound dosnt mean it isnt good music anymore. Did you expect them to go nearly 3 decades without changing it up a bit? and as for dragonforce, it sounds fast cause they are sweep picking which isnt that hard once you get the hang of it and you learn the appergio scale (or w/e). Dont talk about metal till you have heard this band Gojira (alblum seen below From Mars to Sirius)

Amen. I actually dont mind St.Anger, i was just speaking on behalf of a majority of the fans out there. They consider every album after the black album a step backwards. But they never "sold out". Just because they didnt go and write master of puppets 2 doesnt mean they sold out, they just changed their sound, all bands inevitably do if they have been around that long. another example? chili peppers. started the same year as metallica, and their sound has changed just as much. but they are still successful.
damn strait, the second band i liked was the peppers, the first was lynard skynard, and the third was rob zombie. dig through the ditches and burn through the witches and slam in the back of my DRACULA! (i think thats how it goes)
Once you sell out, you can never go back. Metallica sold out back when Napster was out. Showed how much they care about the money and not the music or the fans.
who dosnt care about money? fuck the so called "fans" if they were real fans they would pony up the cash to buy the damn cd. Ive never pirated any cd whos band I was a fan of. Oh btw theres a band called breath of the dying, that was gonna be my bands name

You're also a hentai watching loser. And a liar to boot.

Ok get your facts right mate. It wasnt metallica. It was Lars Ulrich all the way. None of the other members actively participated in the lawsuit against napster, it was Ulrich from start to finish. The band as a whole never sold out. Maybe lars showed he cared about money, but asif he doesnt care about the fans. He would have quit a LONG time ago. He turns up to concert after concert and plays ball breaking sets with the rest of the band. He has missed just 1 concert in their entire 27 year career. If your going to blame someone, blame lars. Dont blame the band. They are not sellouts. They never sold out. They made a few mistakes, thats all. If they really sold out, they wouldnt be here today. How come they still sellout every concert they have? How come the new album is so highly anticipated? How come they still have millions of fans all over the world? Because they never sold out.

I never have much liked Metallica, though "One" is okay
Good choice. One is a killer song, it was one of 2 metallica songs to make it onto the ultimate heavy metal boxset which was released recently.
You should listen to Kreator. You would love them.
i doubt he would, the vocals are probably to harsh. Ripping Corpse Attack!
kreator and sodom rule.
have you listend to any Death? there one of the best metal bands of all time, you should check Human out if you havent already. one thing that stands out in death is the incredible solo's, and they never released a bad album.
Metallica stopped being good many years ago. Deal with it.
I agree, Lars Ulrich sold out, the band IS tainted. But that doesnt mean the band sold out. It means one of the members was stupid enough to do something that had a negative effect.
People like me? You dont know me. And i was a fan AFTER all this had happened.
I agree, Metallica are nowhere near as good as they were years ago. Thats common knowledge. But you still havent answerd me. Why is it they still have their legions of fans, sold out concerts, and anticipated albums? Because they are Metallica, one of the biggest and best metal bands of all time. Deal with it.

No matter how shitty a band is, they will always have their adoring fans.
Discuss music, not whether someone is stupid for liking a band. I like Guns n' Roses, guess how many guitarists they went through. I like Buckethead, look at how many bands he's been in. I like Queen, but they look at what Freddy Mercury did to himself. Then again, also like Dragonforce, and to my knowledge they've done nothing extraordinarily crappy, they haven't gone through guitarists like beers, they aren't in the media for drugs. Sure, they do play drunk often enough, but they aren't like some other bands.

And please do not discuss anything that is not suitable for children. That includes hentai.
To Murderface - you do not need to reply me.

Lack of comprehension - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euHMldrw4fw
listen to the solo part 1:46 - 2:15 progressive thrashy bit after the solo = the epitome of metal.
