the movie 300 displayed some messages and emotions that cannot be described by a book, nor a comic. neither tone, nor emotion or expression can be delivered in those forms of media. I definately got a few messages from the movie. i have a mate who has studied these historical events and yes he agreed that the story was not very close to the actual events, but he pointed out that the same messages are portrayed and the same lessons are learned, in a much more detailed way. you cant say there are no messages in the film. you could say there are no NEW messages or lessons, morals, but even so they were put foward well and shown in a way not possible by book nor comic.
Are you people on drugs, the entire movie is based on the a couple great messages, yes, the official plan message is that well trained, free man can defeat and army with superior numbers. The message that is often related to this historic happening is fighting against all odds. Bravery and so on.
Also, it shows that the Spartans were total badasses. The movie is completely kick ass. Saw it twice. This is the only movie I watched more than once in theaters.

i forgot to mention it, but that was also my case. ive never seen a movie twice in theaters except for the LOTR movies, and if anyone knows i love those movies ALOT. 300 has fallen in that category.
The King was loyal to his people and Desafiate all that was necesary for the freedom of the Spartan People.
The movie have messages and a lot of them. But i think you prefer a Love story or some consumist 100% movie ^^
For me... 10/10.
And the king was revolutionary. He must to being a message movie. But some people think that if some guy loves the life and freedom of his people he doesn't have message. Remember Che Guevara, remember Ernesto.
it was a powerful message that most people dont get. we are free, and they are slaves. iran was enraged when the movie came out, why? because they themselves are slaves to what they are told is their religion. islam is peaceful, but the radicals over there display themselves as the god they pray to, else they wouldnt kill and terrorize their own people. we are free, they are slaves, its a powerful message that not many get.
i usually dont like to get political in threads that dont have politics in their name, but its a point i thought worthy of mentioning.
other messages are the dedication of one to his country, leaving to war when some dont approve of it, defending your right as a country to exist. its more of a manly movie, we love the blood, gore, and hundred lines that Lyonidas yelled out at the top of his lungs. just like girls, (and im just generalizing) love the cheesy romance movies where a girl falls in love with a prince and they get married at the end.
OMG amazing movie! 10/10 loved the fight seens, and was amazed by the story! learned about this historic event before the movie, so it made probably more sense to me then to some others! =P

Out of all the movies i have seen in this life time...I would give 300 to be my 3rd favorite movie. 300 was probably the best looking movie of all, not to mention the awesomeous (haha cool word) battle scenes and tactics that definitely represent SLAYERS. HOOORAAA Carloseus.

The Battle of Thermopolis is a battle that I hold dear to me in my studies of war. I believe that i am a very knowledgeable person when it comes to present and past warfare. The movie 300 is a very awesome and impactful movie...though some of the facts and storyline did not meet up with most scholars. The Spartan warriors did not hold up the Persian Army at the North Gates as 300 depicted. The Battle of Thermopolis believed to be that the Spartans held up the Persian army outside their city gates. They held up the Persian force so well that after days of battles grew the Persians weak and disgusted of war. After the 6th day of the battle...the Persians withdrew their force and set sail back to their empire. There was no battle after the 300 Spartans engaged the Persian army. 300 showed that their was a secondary battle towards the end of the film with 23,000 Spartans/Greeks.
Though i guess no one will excatly know what happened. Since this happened a few 1000 generations ago...no one will excatly know. Just some food for thought though. Great movie and it remains as one of my top 3 along with the other great movies.

When I watched that movie.. I was laughing my ass off.
The fights in that movie were the best. I was laughing at how easily they owned the Persians.
I give it a 9.5/10
It would be 10 but in truth. It didnt follow the actual historical event too much. But it was still probably the 2nd best movie Ive ever seen.. or 3rd.
