Well i just joined the forums so hi all.
And yes angels exist, but they dont look at all like the picture you have posted elfen.
My mother had a vision a long long time ago, when i was about 4, she thought God no longer loved her, so God sent my mother an Angel, the Angel was sitting in a chair and he was as white as could be, in fact he was so white it might blind you, when he talked his mouth did not move.
The Angel said God still loves you, and he has faith in you. And after that the Angel put my mom back to bed and left.
This is a true story whether you believe it or not. And yes angels are real, they protect us daily. Maybe there are terrible things that may happen from time to time, but they only happen because they were supposed to happen.
It is a complicated explanation, but this is the truth. I wont force anyone to believe me, and for the matter you dont have to, but it is the truth my friends. Angels are real.
One more thing, if it was not god that created us, who did.
Ya like you can answer that. lol.

God is science, he basicly created it, enough of this debate, everybody believe what you want, i dont really care as long as we're all friendly.

Its a very lovely story about your mother but it is exactly that, a story. Little Nemo, is a story of a fish who can talk. Is it real? Of course not. Is the story that your mother told you real? Well that would be determined on how much crack she smoked before seeing this angel.
On the real you present this story as truth yet there is no validaty to your mothers story. No second hand confirmation. Just a story past on from mother to child. My mother once told me that Santa Clause climbs down the chimney and delivers presents underneathe our christmas tree. Lovely story that was. If I behaved myself I was to get great presents. That last year of faith I was very well behaved. I did not get grounded or restricted the entire year. You see, Santa Clause brought me Dr Mario instead of Ninja Gaiden III like I had wanted.

Well perhaps you listened to your mother telling you of santa clause, that story infact is not a story, but a reality, it is a truth.
There was a man they called Saint Nicholas, he lived in the early 1600's delivering presents to children, and yes he did climb down a chimney, people have proven that, so maybe my mothers story is also a reality, if fat men climb down chimneys delivering presents, then Angels definitely exist.
And just because you got Dr. Mario doesnt mean santa forgot about you, it means he didnt give you what he thought was right for you.
And santas are not fat old child molestors, there are no santas left anymore, at least not the real santa is here. Hes long dead.

What a non sequitur conclusion to reach. You sir, are either a master of sarcasm, or a disconnector of fine points.
Because we can only explain the Big bang theory as gas and matter. Gas and Matter does not have the ability to create from nothing, only the unexplained can create from nothing, or as some people call it "God."
Once again, matter and energy cannot be created from nothing due to our laws of physics. However if we assume that no such restrictions existed prior to the Big Bang, which is what the theory actually does, then the need for an explanation of who created everything suddenly becomes less vital, because there may not be a need for a creator.
I'm not saying nothing did create the Universe, only that it isn't necessary to explain everything with a creator.

I believe in energy. Energy is the only thing that inhabits all life on Earth and in Space. Energy is defind as the current that moves from atom to atom. Whoever, Whatever, created energy and atoms, is god.
The current that moves from atom to atom? Are you saying then that light has nothing to do with energy, since it isn't made out of atoms?

But it is only a story, and cannot be verified in any way. You mother could, though I highly doubt it, be lying you straight in the face, and there would be no way for you to prove her wrong.
Ever heard that the mind sees what it wants to see? I've ever seen an angel in my life, and if God is everloving, wouldn't he realise tat it would be beneficial for me if I did believe, and thus send an angel to talk to me?

I though I should just point out to you that your reasoning is flawed. The story of Santa Claus told today involves him living on the North Pole, operating a flying sled, and traelling around the whole world in one night. Did the original do that too did you say?

What's strange is it sounded like he's saying that since there really was a Santa Claus, then that in fact makes Santa non-fiction (even though the myth of Santa today is largely seperated from who Santa really was at one point), and that therefore the same holds true for angels. Only he did not relate the story of when the first angel or angels existed. But like I said, hopefully we just being sarcastic.

No everything probably doesn't need start with a creator. But to suggest that just prior to the "Big Bang" that the laws of physics did not apply and Gas and Matter could materialize from nothing is idiotic and moronic. Never in the history of evolution or creation has something materialized from nothing. When that does happen, call me. To suggest that it can bend the laws would to admit that there is a force that altered its state. Which I believe is a supreme being or power, "God."
The current that moves from atom to atom? Are you saying then that light has nothing to do with energy, since it isn't made out of atoms?
Light is electromagnatic radiation that only becomes visible when it comes into contact with mass. Mass is generally defined as an atom. So that would read exactly how I intended it to, "energy that travels from atom to atom."
Just because man can define it does not mean we know its full and true nature or its creator.

Of course it hasn't happened in the history of the world, it cannot, the laws of physics are already established and (probably) prevent anything like that from happening.
What I am saying is that, before the Big Bang, there was no matter, not energy, no reason and no laws of physics. God, whatever he is, could possibly have created everything, but I see it just as possible that nothing did.
Or, our Universe is just one bubble amongst an infinite amount of others. This is what I personally believe; that every individual Universe has a beginning, but all Universes together don't. New ones are created all the time, some die, some remain indefinately, and pretty much anything else we can dream up.
In fact, everything our mind can envision does exist somewhere in this model.

There are many things in life that are not explained. But believing in the fact that something doesn't spawn from nothing, makes me believe in a higher power from which I or you cannot understand. Or God as some people call it.
For someone who dislikes bricks so much, you sure try and stack them up in your replies.
"Energy is the only common denominator in all religions." - Me
I do beleive the only thing that spwaned from nothing was the beginning of the universe.
In my point of view, religion is a brain-wash, a loophole, or idknow how to say, its something that was invented.
Now, beleiving that something, as you said like a higher power, created things is OK, cuz I am a beleiver as much as you are, I beleive in the theory of the big-bang.
Beleiving in something spiritual is ok, but "ordered" religions such as christianism (its not the worst but its the first in wich I though) are for me something that shouldnt be.
Religion is your personal opinion about how life was created, or works, or anything unexplained. But forcing people to beleive is a crime, forcing people to think like someone did 2007 years ago is something stupid.
Now whats even worse is how people use religion, didnt Jesus (Jesus Rocks) say "Love each other", or from what I remeber "Aimez vous les uns les autres". How come all this shit happened(I wont name the shit).
But were getting a bit far from our subject.
Maybe God exists... who cares, if he does I'm bout sure there arent any angels watching for you guys, or girls.

I got a little story to tell(please read the whole thing before commenting).
I have this really wierd friend I met over the internet in Day of Defeat(similar to Counter-Strike but WW2). I started my own clan, I got him to join, he was really damn good. I met him over 4 years ago and I stil talk to him over AIM.
Anyway, we always got in wierd conversations, I must say he was not very down-to-earth. One conversation we got into was about Catholicism/God being real.
He gave me so many reasonings reguarding how God is not real. I told him I went to Catholic school my entire life, he said he did too(hes like 27 years old). I was really confused about why he had abandoned his faith.
Some of the shit he told me was out of this world, literally.
He said so much shit about God not being real, I actually would stay up late night and think about what he had told me. For a period of time, he depleted my faith completely with the shit he told me, it was very convincing and intrigued the hell out of me(I'm not even going into detail with what he had told me). I was very open-minded about this at the time.
Then one day he said his dad was getting his kidney replaced. He loved his dad very much and he was worried, there was a good chance he could die. He told me "now I have to pray to a God that I believe is non-existant". Whichpissed me off because he was giving me all this shit about God not being real, YET he chose to pray to Him?
After he told me that, I wanted to get back in touch with my faith in God, so I did things like reading recorded documents of miracles and exorcisms(people with broken ribs, etc. because of the demon inside them), talked to people about their faith, etc. and my faith was eventually restored over time. I also prayed every night and I am a very lucky kid, I notice when I don't pray things don't go as well.
Anyway I have concluded from this encounter that the people that "don't believe in God" either really do believe in God(but they just like to start arguments and proove points to see peoples reactions) or they are too lazy to take the time to pray/learn about God.
I mean, if you don't think God is real, you could at least pray every now and then so if he is real and you die you don't go straight to hell. It's just the logical thing to do, I mean it doesn't even take time to pray.
Yea I know this topic is about angels but God and angels go hand in hand.
I could say the proof of God's existance is the 300+ exorcisms that happen in Europe alone every year, but of course you can choose to ignore and say they are fake and you don't believe it unless you see it etc..
The moral of the story is, even the guy who has every reason in the world that God isn't real(just like some of you), stil ends up praying to Him because he knows deep inside theres a possibility, just like every single one of you, aka, you cannot disprove God's existance.. So why the fuck would you take the risk of choosing to disbelieve in him and go to hell?(btw, mormons, jahobas, muslims, christians, jews, etc. pray to the same God, so it doesn't matter which religion you are because its the same God, just slightly different views)
Argue all you people want, but you will never disaproove/aproove God's existence. Like I said before, this thread is stupid/pointless because no one will win the argument. Ever.
good point conquistador! i thank you for that, but, i would like to ask you if you really believe that if you only pray to god, that just praying will prevent you from going to hell? im a christian, and i believe that the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ, you must be saved! you must accept him as your lord and savior, and admit that he died on the cross for you! also, you should live for God, doing the things that god would do!

Thanks, and yes I am Catholic and I believe praying alone will probaly not get you straight into heaven(perhaps purgatory for a while).
I was just saying that for the people that grew up with no religion at all(its not their fault), since they never learned about that kind of stuff it would probaly save them. Its a circumstance/occasion I'm sure God would understand(at least they're trying). I mean they wouldn't go straight to heaven but it would probaly save them.
idk, your a cool guy, but im not going to continue this conversation to save a possible friendship in the future! (only because your catholic and im christian, and i really dnt believe in purgatory) plz dont be offended by my beliefs, im not calling them wrong, i just personally dont believe all that catholics do, im sorry! =(

No I may not prove or disprove god, but I sure can prove that people, when pushed into intense emotional situations, revert back to basic knowledge and rudimentary skills.
A person that just lost their family member climbs on their bed tucking their body into a fetile position holding there legs to comfort themselves.
Studies have shown that children that grow up without a religion do not result into turning toward faith to comfort themselves in time of crisis.

"Pking in Softcore, is like two deaf kids yelling at each other."
“Let's imagine that you visit your doctor one day, and he tells you that you have cancer. Your doctor is optimistic, and he schedules surgery and chemotherapy to treat your disease. Meanwhile, you are terrified. You don't want to die, so you pray to God day and night for a cure. The surgery is successful, and when your doctor examines you again six months later the cancer is gone. You praise God for answering your prayers. You totally believe with all your heart that God has worked a miracle in your life.
The obvious question to ask is: What cured you? Was it the surgery/chemotherapy, or was it God? Is there any way to know whether God is playing a role or not when we pray?
Unless you take the time to intelligently analyze this situation, it looks ambiguous. God might have miraculously cured your disease, as many Christians believe. But God might also be imaginary, and the chemotherapy drugs and surgery are the things that cured you. Or your body's immune system might have cured the cancer itself.
When your tumor disappeared, in other words, it might simply have been a complete coincidence that you happened to pray. Your prayer may have had zero effect.
How can we determine whether it is God or coincidence that worked the cure? One way is to eliminate the ambiguity. In a non-ambiguous situation, there is no potential for coincidence. Because there is no ambiguity, we can actually know whether God is answering the prayer or not.
That is what we are doing when we look at amputees.
Think about it this way. The Bible clearly promises that God answers prayers. For example, in Mark 11:24 Jesus says, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." And billions of Christians believe these promises. You can find thousands of books, magazine articles and Web sites talking about the power of prayer. According to believers, God is answering millions of their prayers every day.
So what should happen if we pray to God to restore amputated limbs? Clearly, if God is real, limbs should regenerate through prayer. In reality, they do not.
Why not? Because God is imaginary. Notice that there is zero ambiguity in this situation. There is only one way for a limb to regenerate through prayer: God must exist and God must answer prayers. What we find is that whenever we create a unambiguous situation like this and look at the results of prayer, prayer never works. God never "answers prayers" if there is no possibility of coincidence.”
Now for your example, it is very common for people who do not believe in a god to turn to prayer in their hour of need, but that is certainly not a proof for any god.
When a person has been brainwashed all of his life to believe in something then expecting him to go back to that belief when he is in need is obvious, its like cult members going through rehabilitation.
Also, you can't diminish the behavioral effect of family members and friends and society general on a persons mind when it is quite disoriented.
And finally, there is also a lot of missionary activities in hospitals, people enforcing their beliefs on the sick and the hopeless, thats low, thats not proof of any god.
As far as I know, there are a lot of tribes in Africa who practice exorcism when needed but that doesn't offer proof for your god to exist because they don't believe in your god and their exorcisms do have a recorded history of working.
Now as for exorcisms done in Europe and other places, some cases involve people who are really into getting a lot of attention, there are others who suffer from severe psychological trauma induced by religion, this is something that we now can explain very well the phenomenon of stigmata, and there are of course the mentally ill who's close family might not be so willing to face the situation and would much like to believe that the person has a demon or an evil spirit stuck in his skull.
The part about not taking a chance and praying to not get burned in hell for all eternity, thats called Pascal's wages.
Pascal stated that praying, it has nothing to be gained from at best, at least has nothing to be lost from at worst.
Thats argument is wrong, its wrong because your putting all of your money on one religion, most likely a religion which very clearly states that is you don't follow its teachings, you will be damned for all eternity.
Well the thing is, your religion did not invent the wheel on that one, almost every non existing deity based religion has this rule or a different version of it, so while your believing in one religion for the sake of not going to hell, you are going to hell by the teachings of many others.
This is true even between religions who seemingly follow the same god, like jehovah for Mormons, Muslims, Christians, Jews and more and the many sects of each.
This is very true between religions who don't believe in jehovah like Hinduism, Paganism, Chinese religion and countless others.
If someone told you things that made you open your eyes and the the world for what it is, and that same person later turned back on the same principals he opened you to in a moment of great weakness, that doesn't mean what he told you wasn't true.
A god “becomes” not true once you stop believing in it, evidence on the other hand, objective analytics of the world around you don't behave that way.

Have Fun,
Live your life,
I have this really wierd friend I met over the internet in Day of Defeat(similar to Counter-Strike but WW2).
Which pissed me off because he was giving me all this shit about God not being real, YET he chose to pray to Him?
Ever.

You can about this topic in greater detail on http://www.whydoesgodhateamputees.com/
A god “becomes” not true once you stop believing in it, evidence on the other hand, objective analytics of the world around you don't behave that way.

yup, plus being really shocked gets you really upside down and often makes you imagine things, I once imagined tousands of scenarios about my mother dying cuz I was 6 old and my mom wouldnt come back.
Fear makes you "crazy", or nervous depending on how big it is.
