Is anyone planning on seeing this movie? I read the book ( Eragon & sequel Eldest) which is very captivating, but when i saw the trailer, i was way more than shocked...The characters are so much different than what i imagined in my head ( like how am i suppose to know that Eragon was blonde >.>) ><; Well, if anyone is planning to see it, drop me a line if its good/bad.
OMFG hell yes!!! i read that book and fell in love with it. then i was first in line to get Eldest out of about 200 people!! i was so excited and people were giving me angry eyes but i was overwhelmed by getting it before anyone in the area. so yes im gonna go see it definately. only flaw was that Saphira has feathered wings >< ><>><>< i didnt like that too much.
Angus the peasant saw the necromancer raising the rotting remains and ran away. Since then he told the tale of how he narrowly escaped the necromancer he called "juicy bones".

im gonna watch it the day it opens, and i hope that it lives to the standards of the book. peter jackson did a godly job at bringing lord of the rings to film, lets hope that a similar job is done with eragon.
Paolini's books were da bomb!
And i am looking forward to seeing the movie however...
Its always the same with this kinda thing. The book is beyond awsome,
then the movie comes out and can in no way even attempt to justify
the book. Then i'm always so dissapointed.
And of course i'm sure the game is crap like they usually are.
From the reviews i read anyway.
i heard the movie was going to be bad, i hoped it wouldnt be too bad, but i watched on as one of my favorite stories was torn apart before me, some kind of cruel joke.
i give points for graphics and the cool flying effects. the battle with durza was also kinda cool, but over all, it was like narnia. in this movie saphira the dragon was tied with brom for best actor.
overall, i BOMBED. i didnt know you could destroy a story that much, and i am disappointed that they chose that story to show me otherwise. dont watch it if you like the story,
Warning, intense spoilers!!!!
dont read if you still intend to see the movie!!!!
I just saw this movie last night, and if you read the books and really like the movie, you will be VERY disappointed. they slaughtered the entire story, they skipped important people. saphira has feathers, remember broms friend the sailor? (forgot his name) well, he never shows up. neither does the cat. brom's secret as a dragon rider is discovered early on, instead of on the eve of his death. murtagh likes his bow more than his sword. sloan is killed at the start of the movie, as are the razac. brom is killed by a spear that durza throws at eragon. arya doesnt stay in her sleeping state, she helps out until they bury brom, then she feels weak and starts to suffer. eragon never gets his back cut by durza. durza has a dark magic flying thing. there is no mention of the giant dwarve stone, or the dwarves that were in the book.
there are probably tons more, but these are the most memorable to me.
To elaborate on Carloseus comment, there are more spoilers here.
The twins fail to appear at all, most people seem to live in huts, Alia wakes up when she is rescued, Galbatorix is the archetype of cliche-badguys. Now something that really bothered me, but which I don't know if it was right or not, was that the Urgal's were fat men with beards. I however always though of them as monsterish. I may remember wrong, but if I don't, that is certainly the worst part of the movie.
And, it wasn't even two hours. It could have been so much better had they used three hours.
