Races
[OMG an I really about to put Elves in Diablo? Yes i'm afraid I am. For those of you who wanted that, this is, without modding an actual game, the closest you are probably going to get.]
Within the various lands are a multitude of different races, and you may, or may not if you so choose, to be one. Though if you go something other than Human, don’t expect people from places that don’t have that race, to be a little freaked out by your appearance. The odd few might mistake your for a demon or monster. I cant imagine a Orc fairing very well in Westmarch, unless he has a few human companions to better explain his situation.

Deities and Religion
Throughout the worlds mentioned above, which for ease shall henceforth be referred to as lands or Kingdoms, depending on their size, its not uncommon to come across priests and monks of various faiths and deities. And you too might like to be a follower of a deity, you may however choose not to follow one, though if your in SICK it’s fairly obvious who your chosen Deity is, or perhaps your main one is, there is no rule against more than one, so long as you meet the requirements for said Deity.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Mages can be a pure class mage or they can be a specialist mage, the specialist classes are as follows;-Abjurer (specializes in protective magic, buffs/ defensive auras, etc)
-Conjurer (specializes in summoning magic, creatures or sentient objects, etc)
-Diviner (specializes in detection or divine magic, far sight, inner sight, true sight, find trap etc)-Enchanter (specializes in manipulating the minds of beings, charms, dominating spell, etc)-Invoker (specializes in offensive magic, high damage/area affect spells (that aren’t death related in someway) Fireball, chain lighting, nova/s, etc)
-Illusionist (specializes in Illusions, Invisibility, mirror images, and spells that cloud enemy’s vision, like Blur or Cloak of Shadows, etc) -Necromancer (specializes in death magic, bone spear, , etc)
-Transmuter (specializes in magic that alters physical reality, generally of the transformation or transmutation kind, turning one thing into another)
It is also worth noting that as this is partly DnD, multiclasses do exist here's a quik run down of what they are.
Fighter/Cleric
Fighter/Thief
Fighter/Mage
Fighter/Druid
Fighter/Mage/Cleric
Fighter/Mage/Druid (Half Elf only)
Fighter/Mage/Thief Mage/Cleric
Mage/Thief
Cleric/Ranger
Thief/Cleric
[The above multiclasses are only for 2nd Edition DnD Rules, i.e. what you would find in BGII or IWD, if you are more familiar with 3rd Edition Rules (IWDII), which basically allows almost any combination of multiclass, then by all means do that. Just don’t make yourself too powerful]
Spell IncantationsDue to the use of DnD, this means certain spells require incantations. Not that this is much of a hassle, and it will flesh out people posts in the story thread a bit too.If you play DnD you pretty much know which spell belongs to which school of magic. Ill try apply it to Diablo though. Illusion: "Veritas, Credo, Oculos" = "The truth, I believe, with my eyes"Decoy, Cloak of ShadowsAlteration: "Praeses, Alia, Fero" = "Protecting, another, I bring this forth"Defensive Auras, war cries like Shout, Necromancy: "Vita, Mortis, Careo" = "Life, and death, I am without"Summon Skeletons/Revives,Divination: "Scio, Didici, Pecto" = "I know, for I have studied, with my mind"
Abjuration: "Manus, Potentis, Paro" = "A hand, powerful, I prepare"Defensive Auras, war cries like Battle Orders/Commands
Evocation: "Incertus, Pulcher, Imperio" = "Uncertain, beautiful things, I command"Fire Ball, Lightning, Conjuration: "Facio, Voco, Ferre" = "This I do, I call, to bring you forth"Golem, Shadow Warrior, Valkryie, Physical Hammer Enchantment: "Cupio, Virtus, Licet" = "I want, excellence, allowed to me"
Enchant (wasn’t that one obvious)
Languages/accentsYour character can speak any number of the languages found in the various worlds. As the lands are so varied, different accents have developed, you may choose to give your character one. A character from Khaz Modan is likely to speak with a “Scottish” accent, while someone from Rashamen, is likely to speak with a “Russian” accent, and for those of you, who noticed the Orc Blade master, speaks with an “engrish” accent.
AgesYour character doesn’t necessarily have to be the same age as you do, but they can be.Here is a little note about what ages some of the races may reach.
Race ... Middle Age ... Old Age ... Venerable Human ... 45 years ... 60 years ... 90 years Half-elf ... 62 years ... 83 years ... 125 years Halfling ... 50 years ... 67 years ... 100 years Dwarf ... 125 years ... 167 years ... 250 years
Gnome ... 100 years ... 133 years ... 200 years Elf . . . 175 years ... 233 years ... 350 years
The above info for Elves only really concerns Fae’run ones. Warcraft Elves live to upwards of 15000 years, The Stormrage Brothers are 15032 years old in WCIII, all other ages are pretty much applicable to the other areas, if you are going with WC Elf, if you add two zeros at the end, your not far off a reasonable age.
Half Orcs, Orcs and Tauren use the Human age BracketHylians, Shiekah, Gerudo, are pretty much human, save for their appearance, so you can just base your ages of the human age brackets.Zora, Goron, Deku age brackets appear closer to Dwarf/gnome
Time KeepingThe years use the Sanctuary Reckoning (SR). Currently incomplete, here’s a timeline.Aeons ago The Beginning: The Great Conflict also begins. -990 Izual attacks Hellforge and falls to the dark hordes of chaos. -985 The dark demon blade Shadowfang is created. -490 The rise of Man. -480 The Sin War begins.

Here are a few SICK related dates
-1436 The Time of Troubles -1462 The beginning of the Church War -1476 The Church War ends
-1498 The year the novel is set in -1500 the current year.
While the Diablo universe gives us most of our dates, I’ve incorporated a bit of DnD too.
Daytime is described by the use of a 24 hour clock, as the day of the world is 24 hours long. For simplicity, the AM (for time before noon) and PM (for time after noon) conventions are used herein. The year consists of 360 days; 12 months of exactly 30 days each. Three 10 day weeks are in each month, but herein we refer to days as they relate to the month (that is one through 30, of a specific month, rather than specific days of the week)
-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Most classes and races, if you have played the games are fairly self explanatory, the following info regards things people might not know. (Mostly about the Hyrule aspects)
-Hyrule Gorons can only be Fighters or Bards Gerudo can only be Fighters, Priests, Mages or Thieves Zoras can only be Fighters, Priests or Mages Hylians can be any class Shiekah can only be Fighters, Priests, Thieves or Mages Deku can only be Fighters Bards or Mages Kokiri can only be Fighters, Bards or Thieves
As unless you are familiar with LOZ, you probably won’t know much about the races. (other game world races are very, very common)
Goron The Goron are generally a helpful race that won't harm anybody that doesn't want to harm them. However, they do possess great power and knowledge about fighting techniques. They can live under extreme heat, and grow to become HUGE, and they are not very tolerable to water.
Zora The Zora are a powerful, but at the same time very vulnerable race. They are extremely good swimmers, but they need water to survive. They can walk on dry land but, not for overly long, the longer they are away from water, the more fatigued they get.
Kokiri Living in Kokiri Forest protected by The Great Deku Tree, the Kokiri were the only race that did not participate in the Great War. An ancient legend tells that if a Kokiri leaves the forest, he or she will die. With the threat of evil approaching, some have thought about leaving the forest. Every Kokiri is born with a protecting fairy.
Hylian Blessed by the Gods with exceptional magical skills, such as the ability to communicate through telepathy and making powerful potions, the Hylians have always been the most powerful race throughout Hyrule. They look a lot like humans, except their ears are long and pointy. The Hylians are known for having the skills of manipulating magic. They look a lot like humans, except their ears are long and pointy. The Hylians are known for having the skills of manipulating magic.
Shiekah
The Sheikah, also known as 'The Shadow Folk' are the people chosen by the gods to protect the Triforce and the Royal family of Hyrule. They looked just like Hylians, but bigger. During the Great War all most all the Sheikah died. The Sheikah built the Shadow Temple.
Gerudo The Gerudo are a lone people. They live in fortresses, and are known as thieves. Nearly all Gerudo are women. In Hyrule, a male Gerudo is born every 100 years and this man is destined to be the leader of the Gerudo until a new male is born into the tribe.
Deku The Dekus are a strange race, which can be considered both as enemies and friends. The Dekus are a race who is mainly concerned about themselves, and therefore they can switch sides between good and evil, depending on which is best for them at the time.
Spells available to the Hyrulean races are you basic, if not stereotypical spells, Heal, Ice Blast, Fire Ball/Bolt Lightning, Chain Lightning, Immolation, Teleport, Fire Arrow (must be holding a bow), Ice Arrow (Must be holding a bow), Invisibilty, temporary Invulnverability.
while some others are unique only the Hyrule. Light Arrow (must be holding a bow), a powerful blast of light, double damage against classical evil monsters (Undead, Demons and Dragons), can only be used by Hylians or Sheikah Defensive Shield, creates a forcefield for either offensive or defensive use, only castable by Zoras Wind Slash Technique, by drawing the sword quickly enough a small vortex of energy is created, that can be manipulated into damaging opponents. Hylians only. This is not so much a spell, but a technique, thus Fighters and Rangers are capable of using it.
Mind Warp, using powerful magics to temperarily bring an opponent under their control. Gerudo only.
-Fae’run Humans can be any class Elves can only be Fighters, Rangers, Clerics, Mages, Thieves, Sorcerers or Barbarians Half Elves can only be Fighters, Bards, Druids, Rangers, Clerics, Mages, Thieves, Sorcerers or Barbarians Gnomes can only be Fighters, Clerics, Mages (Illusionist by default), Thieves or Barbarian Halflings can only be Fighters, Clerics, Thieves or Barbarians Dwarves can only be Fighters, Clerics, Thieves or Barbarians Half Orcs can only be Fighters, Clerics, Thieves or Barbarians
And that includes Multiclassing.
Any Drow Equipment will turn to dust (Adamantite dust to be specific) when it is hit by sunlight
-Magic Schools Each school of Magic has an opposite. This means they cannot cast a spell from that school Abjuration – Alteration Conjuration – Divination Divination – Conjuration Enchanter – Evocation Illusionist – Necromancy Evocation – Enchantment/Charm, Conjuration/Summoning Necromancy – Illusion Below are attachments containing spells use in DnD and Diablo and what school each spell belongs to, most Diablo spells, excluding the physical attack skills as they aren’t really spells are fairly accurate, some could go in more than one school, which makes things harder. I’ll try get around to Warcraft soon.
-Ranks, Titles, Distinctions, Honorifics
On your travels you may encounter NPCs that have various Ranks, Titles, Distinctions, or Honorifics. As a sign of respect it is customary to refer to them by their titles.
The title of “King” is applied to either the first name, or the whole name such as King Arthur or King Arthur Pendragon.
The title of Baron, is often applied to the last name, Baron Von Richthoven, or the whole name Baron Vlad Von Carstein, alternatively it is applied to the fist name if there is not last name, i.e Baron Sludge.
The honorific Lord, can be applied to the last name, Lord Blackadder, the whole name Lord Orgrimm Doomhammer or single name Lord Archeon
Those who have yet to earn a Lordship, refer to those who has as my lord, or depending on their accent, m’ Lord.
The same goes for the honorific Sir. Sir Sarles or Sir
Those who share the same rank, i.e two Lords or two Knights (Sirs) do not need to include the “my”, but can refer to each other as Lord or Sir.
This is similarily done when someone of higher rank refers to someone of a lower rank. A King would not call a Lord, my Lord, he would just say Lord.
However, you may also refer to those with a Knighthood (the honorific Sir or Lord) with the term “good Sir Knight” or sire.
The Term “my Liege” can be used to refer to your highest ranking leader such as a King, Warlord, or a Lord if he owns the lands on which you live.
A title like War Chief can be applied to either the whole name War Chief Orgrimm Doomhammer, or the first/single name War Chief Thundar
Alternatively, if your character comes from a locality modeled on Asian, specifically Japan, the following honorifics can be used;
-sama, “Gennosuke sama”, used to confer great respect
-dono, meaning Lord, “Tenzen dono”, (Lord Tenzen), confers utmost respect.
Characters can, and in some cases do, include in there name a title based on a deed they have performed, Dentarg Skullcrusher (obviously crushed a few skulls) or a description of the character such as Korgath Bladefist (has a sword for a hand) Killrogg Deadeye (has only one eye) or a virtue them embody, such as Sir Lancelot the Brave, Sir Robin the not quite as brave as Sir Lancelot.
Your characters can include any of these, so long as they have earned them, unless it’s the few exceptions where they have been inherited.

And as a Final note.
This thread is not offical lore, it may use some of the lore from the games and novels, but it isn't recognised by any of the companies who make the games. Anything said in here is fan fiction. So don't go accepting it as fact, no matter how convenient or well it fills any holes left in the lore by blizzard, or any other company who's game is used in the RP Thread.

Mage
Mages can be a pure class mage or they can be a specialist mage, the specialist classes are as follows; -Abjurer (specializes in protective magic, buffs/ defensive auras, etc)
-Conjurer (specializes in summoning magic, creatures or sentient objects, etc)
-Diviner (specializes in detection or divine magic, far sight, inner sight, true sight, find trap etc) -Enchanter (specializes in manipulating the minds of beings, charms, dominating spell, etc) -Invoker (specializes in offensive magic, high damage/area affect spells (that aren’t death related in someway) Fireball, chain lighting, nova/s, etc)
-Illusionist (specializes in Illusions, Invisibility, mirror images, and spells that cloud enemy’s vision, like Blur or Cloak of Shadows, etc)
-Necromancer (specializes in death magic, bone spear, , etc)
-Transmuter (specializes in magic that alters physical reality, generally of the transformation or transmutation kind, turning one thing into another)
It is also worth noting that as this is partly DnD, multiclasses do exist here's a quik run down of what they are.
Fighter/Cleric
Fighter/Thief
Fighter/Mage
Fighter/Druid
Fighter/Mage/Cleric
Fighter/Mage/Druid (Half Elf only)
Fighter/Mage/Thief
Mage/Cleric
Spell Incantations Due to the use of DnD, this means certain spells require incantations. Not that this is much of a hassle, and it will flesh out people posts in the story thread a bit too. If you play DnD you pretty much know which spell belongs to which school of magic. Ill try apply it to Diablo though.
Illusion: "Veritas, Credo, Oculos" = "The truth, I believe, with my eyes" Decoy, Cloak of Shadows Alteration: "Praeses, Alia, Fero" = "Protecting, another, I bring this forth" Defensive Auras, war cries like Shout,
Necromancy: "Vita, Mortis, Careo" = "Life, and death, I am without" Summon Skeletons/Revives, Divination: "Scio, Didici, Pecto" = "I know, for I have studied, with my mind"
Abjuration: "Manus, Potentis, Paro" = "A hand, powerful, I prepare" Defensive Auras, war cries like Battle Orders/Commands
Evocation: "Incertus, Pulcher, Imperio" = "Uncertain, beautiful things, I command" Fire Ball, Lightning, Conjuration: "Facio, Voco, Ferre" = "This I do, I call, to bring you forth" Golem, Shadow Warrior, Valkryie, Physical Hammer Enchantment: "Cupio, Virtus, Licet" = "I want, excellence, allowed to me"
Enchant (wasn’t that one obvious)
Languages/accents Your character can speak any number of the languages found in the various worlds.
Ages Your character doesn’t necessarily have to be the same age as you do, but they can be. Here is a little note about what ages some of the races may reach.
Race ... Middle Age ... Old Age ... Venerable
Human ... 45 years ... 60 years ... 90 years
Half-elf ... 62 years ... 83 years ... 125 years
Halfling ... 50 years ... 67 years ... 100 years
Dwarf ... 125 years ... 167 years ... 250 years
Gnome ... 100 years ... 133 years ... 200 years
Elf . .
Half Orcs, Orcs and Tauren use the Human age Bracket Hylians, Shiekah, Gerudo, are pretty much human, save for their appearance, so you can just base your ages of the human age brackets. Zora, Goron, Deku age brackets appear closer to Dwarf/gnome

Here are a few SICK related dates
-1436 The Time of Troubles
-1462 The beginning of the Church War
-1476 The Church War ends
-1498 The year the novel is set in
-1500 the current year.
The months are named as follows;
1 Hammer
2 Alturiak
3 Ches
4 Tarsahk
5 Mirtul
6 Kythorn
7 Flamerule
8 Eleasias
9 Elient
10 Marpenoth
11 Uktar
12 Nightal
Maps Figured I’d just add this here too.

Most classes and races, if you have played the games are fairly self explanatory, the following info regards things people might not know. (Mostly about the Hyrule aspects)
-Hyrule
Gorons can only be Fighters or Bards
Gerudo can only be Fighters, Priests, Mages or Thieves
Zoras can only be Fighters, Priests or Mages
Hylians can be any class
Shiekah can only be Fighters, Priests, Thieves or Mages
Deku can only be Fighters Bards or Mages
Kokiri can only be Fighters, Bards or Thieves
As unless you are familiar with LOZ, you probably won’t know much about the races. (other game world races are very, very common)
Goron
The Goron are generally a helpful race that won't harm anybody that doesn't want to harm them. However, they do possess great power and knowledge about fighting techniques. They can live under extreme heat, and grow to become HUGE, and they are not very tolerable to water.
Zora
The Zora are a powerful, but at the same time very vulnerable race. They are extremely good swimmers, but they need water to survive. They can walk on dry land but, not for overly long, the longer they are away from water, the more fatigued they get.
Kokiri
Living in Kokiri Forest protected by The Great Deku Tree, the Kokiri were the only race that did not participate in the Great War. An ancient legend tells that if a Kokiri leaves the forest, he or she will die. With the threat of evil approaching, some have thought about leaving the forest. Every Kokiri is born with a protecting fairy.
Hylian
Blessed by the Gods with exceptional magical skills, such as the ability to communicate through telepathy and making powerful potions, the Hylians have always been the most powerful race throughout Hyrule.
Gerudo
The Gerudo are a lone people. They live in fortresses, and are known as thieves. Nearly all Gerudo are women. In Hyrule, a male Gerudo is born every 100 years and this man is destined to be the leader of the Gerudo until a new male is born into the tribe.
Deku
The Dekus are a strange race, which can be considered both as enemies and friends.
Light Arrow (must be holding a bow), a powerful blast of light, double damage against classical evil monsters (Undead, Demons and Dragons), can only be used by Hylians or Sheikah
Defensive Shield, creates a forcefield for either offensive or defensive use, only castable by Zoras
Wind Slash Technique, by drawing the sword quickly enough a small vortex of energy is created, that can be manipulated into damaging opponents. Hylians only. This is not so much a spell, but a technique, thus Fighters and Rangers are capable of using it.
Mind Warp, using powerful magics to temperarily bring an opponent under their control. Gerudo only.
-Fae’run
Humans can be any class
Elves can only be Fighters, Rangers, Clerics, Mages, Thieves, Sorcerers or Barbarians
Half Elves can only be Fighters, Bards, Druids, Rangers, Clerics, Mages, Thieves, Sorcerers or Barbarians
Gnomes can only be Fighters, Clerics, Mages (Illusionist by default), Thieves or Barbarian
Halflings can only be Fighters, Clerics, Thieves or Barbarians
Dwarves can only be Fighters, Clerics, Thieves or Barbarians
Half Orcs can only be Fighters, Clerics, Thieves or Barbarians
And that includes Multiclassing.
Any Drow Equipment will turn to dust (Adamantite dust to be specific) when it is hit by sunlight
-Magic Schools
Each school of Magic has an opposite. This means they cannot cast a spell from that school
Abjuration – Alteration
Conjuration – Divination
Divination – Conjuration
Enchanter – Evocation
Illusionist – Necromancy
Evocation – Enchantment/Charm, Conjuration/Summoning
Necromancy – Illusion
Below are attachments containing spells use in DnD and Diablo and what school each spell belongs to, most Diablo spells, excluding the physical attack skills as they aren’t really spells are fairly accurate, some could go in more than one school, which makes things harder.
Alternatively, if your character comes from a locality modeled on Asian, specifically Japan, the following honorifics can be used;
-sama, “Gennosuke sama”, used to confer great respect

Gallowmere and Albion do not really have mages, but rather spell warriors, some what similar to Diablo 1, warriors who can cast spells.
Below are the spells available to chracters from Albion (Fable) and Gallowmere (Medievil)
