Does anyone else think that the Barbarian in the demo video was a little TOO powerful? Like, my favorite part of Diablo 2 was the relative realism of the barbarian fighting his way through hordes of monsters. Just the way they did it was very satisfying, like you hit a monster hear a thud or a fleshy smack sound and the monster falls and you go onto the next right away without stopping.
In the diablo 3 demo video it's a bit different, when the barbarian hits something there's always an earth shattering rumble, or a flash of light, the ground explodes, and each monster gets sent flying and flailing through the air as if each hit was a magically charged special skill.
I mean, if you make every move earth shattering then it's just not as satisfying. It's better if you have to charge teh skil up so it becomes special when you get to finally use it.
I think the part that bugs me the most about it is the way over exaggerated animations. Like each hit it looks like the barbarian is mustering every bit of energy in his entire body. I liked in diablo 2 how it was more subtle.
Maybe it's just me, but don't get me wrong, it looks awesome anyway. It'll be interesting to see what they do for the other classes. Can't wait to give it a try for myself
UPDATE: another thing I forgot to mention.. I think the game looks waaaaaay too much like WoW. Over exaggerrated cartoony objects and monsters are all over the place. Look at the tables in the cathedral dungeon (image borrowed from another post..), the legs are stubby and short, and the table top looks blocky and cartoony like WOW. The candles too. Also that big hulking monster that explodes into worms looks like the abonination undead monsters from WoW, big, exaggerated, cartoony, almost cute the way they waddle, etc. Diablo should be dark, brooding, gritty, GOTHIC, and realistic (with slight slylization and colour highlights here and there to keep things from getting monotonous). Monsters should look menacing and terrifying, Anyway, I hope they fix it..
See the thing is they even said in the game things don't drop full sets of armor but we rigged this one so we can show you the armor (obviously they rigged the character to show off the skills) being he was doing whirlwind I am sure that was the last skill for the barb you could get in diablo 2 you act like your going to get swarmed by 100 monsters once you enter the game or somthing and if you die your done.
they showed the barbarian and witch doctor classes at their best abilities, if u noticed most (if not all) skills were used, well not used but available to the player

Yeah but that's the thing, I'm not even talking about the skills. I'm talking about the animations for just plain attacking. But to be honest, the over exaggerated fighting animation doesn't bother me as much as the game resembling WoW in it's art direction.
Alright, lets look at some general complaints here, the colours are too vivid/ not complete gray scale, the music is too epic, the characters are too powerful... I would stick to Diablo II.

Its a demo when you get the game you wont be whirwinding threw those monsters like that. The whole gameplay vid was with the characters at a high level.

The point of this overpowerness is to make mobs easy to kill and bosses extremely hard. This makes gameplay much more fun, and it is also never done before.
I think they must've upgraded the Barbarian quite a bit just for the demo. They give him a full set of Gothic Plate and a firey hammer. That's definitely not starting equipment. Then again, who knows if that's the start area or not. I just think it is because of Deckard Cain being there.
I am pretty sure that the they were higher in level. Even the guy in the gameplay video said that they rigged the chest droping the set gear which means that they probably rigged everything else to show us how great and fun Diablo III will be.

It seems that in D3 you'll fight a lot more enemies than in D2, so you gonna need it...
