I don't mind seeing a paladin as long as they are balanced enough as to not be overpowered. And Paladins haven't always been overpowered in WoW, so it's hard to say that Blizzard always makes them overpowered, since that isn't true.

i don't mind having paladins and i think they aren't overpowered in Diablo 2 for e.g..
but even tho i'm not a racist i hate seeing a black paladin.... i just picture paladin like a holy man, more like an angel and angels aren't black.... if u know what i mean

arent overpowered in d2???~!?!?!?!?!? what D2 are u playing man cuz the one im playing they have been dominating pvp and pvm for years
And the only thing i didn't like in tne paladin was the fact that 2/3 of his skills were auras, so when they take out the ''aura flash bug'' the paladin become a very imbalanced character, with a huge amount of useless skills and a feel too strong skills.
If the barbarian returned because he was not that well maded in D2, i'm sure the pally could return for the same reason. But in a expancion.
???

Most character in diablo 2 were not well made.....with some skill balancing and FIXING so they work right the game could of and would of had many more viable character builds...regardless all the characters only had a few decent skills with most being trash....just look at any of em and try to pick out the skills truly worth having.....there aint many
Paladins in Diablo II aren't overpowered. Bar the Hammerdin build with the proper gear, they're pretty much a fuck up for an almost too tactical fanbase to play. 2 Aura trees? Fuck that.

Your forgetting smiters and the fact that even a zealer(melee) with charge could take out caster....thats crazy for melee....just try using a bash or concentrate barb in duels its shit compared to a zealer you have literally no chance against casters....
I agree though the paladin isnt overpowered its just a few of his skills, but those skills are pretty ridiculous when compared to most other comparable skills in the game
Pallys are not overpowered but they are by far the best Hardcore character if your starting from scratch... auras are crap!? Ever heard of holy freeze where it slows enemies even if they are cold immune??? What about vengence pallys? its one of the most hard hitting melee skills in the game and IM isent a prob there... Martyrs anyone??? they hit you, your prob dead, and they get healed???? Not to mention they are the best pindleskin farmers in the game! just slap on redemtion max holy bolt, FoH, and Blessed hammer and that is a peice of cake... so they have their uses ourside of hammerdin.

Actually ill take back what I said....paladins are very OP......they only need about half as much dex to reach max block thank to holy shield with just ONE POINT in the skill.....thats insane.....thats like almost 100 vita or more extra any paladin can have right there over other characters.....
Kefka: its true they can do that with holy shield... but when people say they are OP... its usually just due to the hammerdin build... cuz they have the dmg of a boss killer in AoE form. pre v1.10 barbs had this with the titan build... put all pnts into strength wear the heavest armor use iron skin, shout, ww, berserk 1 strength = +1% ed and to add to that no enemie had ITD so you dident need vitality with this build. the weapon would be a war pike with 6 socket 15% IAS/40% ED jewles... but back to pally: its that massive dmg in AoE form that makes eveyone say he is OP... cuz i promise you if he did all that dmg but was only hitting one target, which he can do and basicly thats what he did before v1.10, no one would say he is op.

I kind of agree with you....but since grief making smiters crazy popular dont you think that also is an OP skill....I mean a paladin is one if not the only class able to be a ery successful hybrid using smite and foh or hammers.....plus charge can be insane on a smiter regardless of the amount of point put into it and its synergies
op or not - pala is still the slowest character out there.
nothing is slow as pala ( except when he is tele item equiped )
in fear ( no enigma ) pvp pala usualy play the dead.
enigma and hammers owerpower him , but still he is easy to be killed.
i point to ladder stats on blizz servers - just look at it
Pala is perfect representation of humans in the battle between heaven and hell.
any other characters is not so human kind.
Slow? In pvp he plays dead? wtf man I dont understand what your getting at....also paladins are considered OP for more reasons then hammerdins
i could use another , simpler way for explanation.
"Everyone loves overpowered characters !"
( no one could reject this ( it's absolute true ) )
so - if he was so overpowered - everyone would play with him
but in fact - he is one of the hard-to-survive high level characters
Still dont get where the proof that paladins arent OP is.....hard to survive character? that doesnt make much sence man.....and just cus he is OP doesnt mean everyone is gonna paly him.....but I can almost assure you everyone almost has made a hdin that played on bnet...they may not play it but they got it for doing anyhting almost.....paladins being OP also doesnt mean there unstoppable...there just stronger overall then every other class
nah... i never played paladin at all and countless times i've seen a hamerdin getting his ass kicked. it's not the char it's how u play.
Agreed skill has a large factor in pvp....but still a good hdin is easy to make compared to any other dueler and getting good with them is a lot easier and you can take out even the best builds with a janky geared hdin dude....just cuz u see some hdins getting owned dont mean there not OP.....ive gone to countless games and seen them owned.....doesnt make them any less OP
i didn't say they aren't overpowerd, hdin is more of a spammer to me... not OP
More of a spammer? Not OP? not sure what spamming hammers has to do with NOT being OP....all a hdin in a diel has to do is make sure to tele right on another player and quickly switch to concen aura during the tele animation then hammer away.....thats usually enough to kill even a pure vita barb with perf gear, max bo and an inventory full of 32020s even...how can you not realize that its so obviously overpowered lol
kefka666333abc123 - no offense man, but you asq too much strange questions.
Voodo is fully right ( as me as well )
palas was never overpowered.
they would be - if they were faster characters, but they are very slow movement characters.
so - please - play more with palas , and then redecide.
i have only 11 palas that play with ( highter was lvl 81 ) ( only 1 hamerdin )
but i have 27 sorcs ( highter was lvl 92 ) ( SoulGuard ) ( Europe B.net )
and i can say for sure once more : PALAS ARE NOT OVERPOWERED !!!!!
palas are just human representation on the conflict between heaven and hell.
Faster character?!?!?!?!?! wtf are you talking about......there FRW is better then almost any other characters between using vigor aura for a few seconds and CHARGE there faster on foot then any other character...and of course most all if not all paladins hammerdins or not use NIGMA...not always I realize but a good majority do so I have no clue how there slower(are you talking about faster cast rate frames or something?) Im really lost on how you guys are determining there not overpowered other then just saying "were right your wrong"
Oh and ive played many paladins. Ive remade my smiters and hammerdin and V/T's over many times oin bnet and made other pally builds like zealer, holy freeze chargers, fohers, and auradins
we determine it in right the way you do, but
at least i do not ask "WTF ?" and "wtf are you talking about" at every my post
no offense - but you are wrong right now.
the most powerfull character in Diablo 2 was sorc, followed by Necro.
And who are you to determine whats the most powerful character? You not even backing up your claims....plz provide something to backup your opinions in an argument please.
Pallys have the most viable builds in HC and to me thats how you determine how effective a char is in diablo PvE. The Reason Hammer Pally is OP and it is prob THE MOST OP class for this one reason... NO RESISTANCES AND NO IM AGAINST IT
[edit] hit sub on accident
So this is why it is the most op build in the game... no one can resist hammers and they are projectiles... only other build that comes close is a Fury Sin but is far less superior cuz its not AoE and doesnet do nearly as much dmg. But besides that all the other builds a pally has are not over powered; they suffer the same penalties as other people and when put in certain situations that a hammerdin faces might be more effective at pulling through in that particular instant.
