I'd like to make a spreadsheet for rifts/bounties/gambling/boss kills to get a larger idea of drop rates, and perhaps get a better idea of how much higher the chance to get a legendary is on higher torments.
Please post any data you have to add, any suggestions to improve the spreadsheet, etc. Any relevant data you post will be added to the spreadsheet. May give some people access to edit it, not sure yet. Don't even know if anyone would be interested in contributing to this or not, yet.
This may eventually help us find the best difficulty to play in, or what the most efficient farm route is.
Yeah, it's too early to do this, they might even stealth buff (or nerf) drop rates, you'd never know when you have to reset your thing.
Also, about the poll, here is a short survey design hint: Use radio buttons for mutually exclusive choices ("yes" and "no"), but checkboxes when more than one option can be chosen.
If you really want to do something like this, it should be in a different format. There's no check on the data; everyone can just enter any data they made up, or even worse, change the data you put in. From experience, there are so many people claiming that they get > 10 legendaries per hour on live, I would not expect that many people to be honest when contributing data. Although it's meant to extrapolate on a huge number of people, there are always kids who believe this is a race. A better system would be a website with login that asks for all the specific details to be put into a form and displays an average of all data. To prevent "showing off" there should be no ranking of individual drop rates, but being able to separate out single users gives a chance to eliminate fake data, e.g., people whose drop rate is just too high to be true.
Re-think the concept and start this again once RoS goes live. It would be really interesting, I admit, but you need to make sure that it's fail-safe, because even slight mistakes in reporting can skew the data and you need a lot of data to make generalizable claims.
Edit: Btw, the spreadsheet is not asking for the right information. Just "legendaries per run" is pointless. Does it mean doing all bounties or clearing the entire act? Killing all trash or just elites? How much MF? Much better would be to ask for number of mobs and elites killed and MF. Furthermore, what about people who start their run coming from a 2 hour dry spell? They'll get a guaranteed legendary soon, skewing all data. You really need to rethink your approach. Just look at gambling data entered so far... you need an insanely large and accurate sample to be able to estimate the drop rates, and there are so many confounding variables...

I have to wait for RoS to come out first. Not a lot of people got into the beta.
Not to mention the next build is going to change everything.
