If it's Diablo, I like it. It's his true form. His most powerful form. The two extra heads look sweet and terrifying. He should be more of a challenge this time. I just wonder if the Lesser and the rest of the Prime Evils have changed appearances...
Of course it was not Diablo. As far as we know Diablo is still dead and we will probably see his ressurection in some amazing cinematic after few acts through d3. They would not spoil that by revealing him right in the first teaser.

He assumed his true form in Diablo II.
Mephisto commands him to assume his true form, the proceeds to command him to unleash his terror into Hell!!!!

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
As for the game, it should be way darker, I noticed this as soon as I saw the videos released...it shouldn't be that lit and bright, since LoD was like...all dark and Gothic, they should totally stick to that schema.
Hey...just wanted to start a thread to talk about theories of what the demon was in the end of the trailer.
I have a pretty strong feeling that this is our main bad guy. If you compare his face with the one that is on the Diablo 3 logo on the splash page (or the one that is on the banner of diablofans )...they are identical...
So could this be a newly resurrected Diablo?
Could it be the three brothers united?
Maybe a new demon that was inside the comet?
If Diablo was called "Project Hydra"...and we know this guy has three heads...maybe this is the Hydra?
Maybe its a lesser evil we've never seen who is now made powerful for some reason?
I think it is a new face for diablo, meeting the appearance the player of today would imagine for a great demon. Horned devils seem to make place for dragon-like creatures all over the movie and fantasy genres nowadays.

"Strange that you say that the Worldstone must be destroyed. The prophecies said nothing about that. Perhaps all we have fought for will be lost…" - Anya
Note: The Prime Evils are beigns who corrupt people, as in they take form of a human shell or such, meaning that their 'true form' as we thought them to be, isn't nessacaringly their 'true form' probally a pre-stage of it.
yea, going along with what XxL2PxX said, in both Diablo I and II Diablo spawned through a human. Took over their body and grew from the inside out so to speak. So perhaps the image shown is nothing more then a more natural form of Diablo. Diablo unrestrained by the human body, or a true form.
and anyways Diablo isnt re born he is simply sent back to hell. so he just has to somehow get back to sanctuary. but for the last 20 years i would surmise that now that the prime evils are back in hell they are fighting to regain it from Belial and Azmodan
Hell is owned by Belial and Azmodan. Tyrael destroyed the worldstone which was holding back hell. My theory is that during the 20 years that Hell had access to the mortal realm Belial the lord of lies spread his influence silently. Now that he has infiltrated Sanctuary he will start a revolution from the inside. So Belial not Diablo will be the main boss. Why would they give Diablo new horns?
