Then pray that the Prime Evils watched those movies!
Well, back on subject; I know it would be a stretch that we wold see Grissy again, like it may be a stretch that we revisit a middle-aged anya. In the end, Diablo 3 will be more of a blast to the past for Lore, and in 2nd place comes the new history and action.
I just personally would be happier not to see him in D3. If I did, I would start to think that they were just trying too hard to reference D1. References to the original game should be more meaningful. And I understand that it would sort of be an acknowledgment to all the fans who have been playing since D1, and I also understand in a fantastical world of demons and undead that you don't need a bunch of logical explanations to bring back a character, but even all that aside, I just think it's totally unnecessary and I would still find his revival to be contrived and cheap.
Well, right now I'm not very convinced Adria would be meaningful, but she's going to be there anyway (based on the concept art we've seen).
Having Griswold in D3 would add to your character's meaning, would make him seem to think 'Hell, do I really have to?'. If you disagree, that's fine.
Well, Adria has huge openings for more development, whereas Griswold's story died with him in Tristram. There really wouldn't be anything viable to conjure up for him anymore. Not anything that legitimately needs to be addressed, I don't think.
Is there anything, my dear sit, you are not against?
I think he's only against useless ideas. Bringing Griswold back is useless, so by substitution, he's against it. Tsada!
Griswold isn't really important, and if he does come back, it would appear as if they were trying so hard to keep up with the die-hard fans of the franchise. "You're criticizing us for this and that..here! have Griswold back!" y'know? It's useless and meaningless to bring him back. Why is he still alive? What happened? Too much to be put together to ensure the return of a not-so-important former NPC. It just doesn't work, in my opinion. I mean, Adria is coming back, Cain - from what we've seen - has a role to play..why bring back more? I'd like to see Akara come back, and hear more about the sisterhood, but Griswold, for me, brings nothing to the table.
griswold is coming back as a crimson head, they didnt decapitate him, so know hes going to evolve into a faster and stronger zombie, we will probably get a new griswold set 2, it will be griswold's crimsonness
or maybe he will transform into a licker lol
And how many times did we kill Diablo? Uhh.. Two! And D3 will make third time! Lol, that always cracks me up.
Btw, did write it.
We killed two separate Diablos, though! First one was the original. After that the character plunges the demon's soulstone into their head, thus the second Diablo.
In Diablo 3, the trailer shows the demons coming from... a meteor? I don't know about Diablo... again.
Or maybe... And this is a long shot here...
Diablo is from space! And his comrades are angry that he has perished! They are sending reinforcements!
AGGHAGGHH!
I don't think Gris will come back. We killed him once before, and that was pretty convincing. However, what about any of the other vendors from Diablo 1?

we killed the host, we never actually killed diablo's spirit thats how he was able to come back, in order to kill him we have to go down to the void?(forgot what the place was called were demons are send when u kill them) and destroy his soul.

I always wondered about his soul. As I said, in the first one his soulstone was put into the characters head, turning them into Diablo. But in 2, when we killed Diablo the soulstone wasn't there, and actually, if you looked, still in his burnt, crispy looking corpse. Why did the story line let us leave what caused the world's trouble in the first place laying in the ground in a place full of demons?!
He has a soulstone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPqnXbjB8qU - watch the end- his essence is gathered up in to it on his forehead. As for its whereabouts after that, you never take the soulstone in the game, but it's destroyed by someone in the ending cinematic for Act IV.
Now how does this all relate to the topic of Griswold?

Though if they do bring him back I want to loot his corpse and take his epic gearz!

Rise and rise again, until lambs become lions
