I'm not sure if it's her, but we know that Mephisto had two children. Lucion and Lilith. This could possibly be Lilith..."Mother of all Demons" as she is called...

I actually agree.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

I beg to differ, Lilith description from the Sin War looks nothing like this.
She might still be the daughter of Baal or Diablo though.
I dont think they would leak such a big plot point this early. I think its more of a lesser villian imo.

-My Position on Black Metal: "So you know those annoying kids you see running around listening to crap radio rock bands wearing tripp jeans and shopping at hot topic? Well, Black Metal is just the next big thing... have fun with your trends, I'm gonna stay metal"
Veltras, I know she doesn't match the description in the Sin War books, but I am of the persuasion that a demon's appearance (on Sanctuary at least) changes from time to time. With all the cycles that these greater demons go through there is bound to be some change. Its only speculation but if I had to guess that character to be anyone it would be Lilith. She did resurrect Diablo once before....she could be part of it again....
I don't want to argue too much about Lilith's "current" appearance, but it would make more sense if she would look similar to Andariel since Andariel is her daughter.
I know that demons could mutate or something, but logically a demon's children should look like him, so my best guess is that the spider demoness could be related to Baal or Astrogha since they both look like spiders.
Btw Alpha the Sin War is not only considered canon, but it's also considered the biggest clue as for what will happen in D3.
I highly agree, there's no way she can be Lilith. I think a mother to the Big Three or even Baal's daughter is more likely.

But if you think about it, the demoness that is pictured in the concept art is not far from Andariel. Just take the legs that were on here back and put them down near her waist and you are close to what is in that picture.
Usually in artwork like this, we just get to see new mosnters that will appear in the game. My guess is this is just a minor boss, or even a regular demon you fight. If she even makese it into the game that is.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

true i agree, maybe just some unique demon, but maybe not an act boss
dont be too sure the description from the Sin War books will match her appearance in the game if shes there. Remember how they completely changed Baal from Diablo II to Lord of Destruction? He looks nothing like his previous form. They'll use a different appearance if they find it good enough.

that's bcuz he was in a mummified form in D2 (Tal Rasha was mummified, you can see his wrapped in white clothing) and he probably took off the wrappings, cleaned himself or something, and no he doesnt look like nothing from his previous form, you can see he has tentacles of flesh from both games
just out of curiousity... OMG, I've been away way too damn long... Sin Wars? WTF! ... Are we talking the books or something? I'm trying to catch up here...
Mephisto had children? Who would um... breed... with him? WHO would want to breed with him or for him for that matter? ick..

Worshiped throughout Greece, she was the goddess of love, marriage, and family life; she was also worshiped as a war goddess, as a Sparta, and as a sea goddess and patroness of sailors.
AND NO I WILL NOT MAKE MY SIGNATURE SMALLER, GO F.O.
Yes, Blizzard have publically stated, that the Sin War Trilogy is the official back story to the games, as they happen millennia before Diablo 1.
So yes, Mephisto does have a son and a daughter, and as Lilith is the mother of Andariel, Mephisto also has a granddaughter.
Through out the books, it would seem that the Prime Evils, Such as Diablo and Mephisto are able to change form at will, depending on the situation. This trait is also passed on to Mephisto's brood. But the point I am making is they are not limited to the forms we see in the games. So when Mephisto had coitus with whomever it was that bore him his children (most commonly thought to be the angel Auriel) he may have been in a more pleasing if not more practical form.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.

They never had children.

Well you don't really know. Just before the Sin War we didn't know that Meph had children, so why not Diablo and Baal.
Because you're basing everything on the Sin War trilogy.
