Even I can't answer that for sure, he might have wanted it destroyed so its corrupted power won't be used for evil, but that was before he knew what Baal intended to do with it.
Another think that can raise a few thoughts is what came to be of the other pieces of the Soul Stones,
of Mephisto's there are six more pieces, Baal's Soul Stone probably shattered into allot more pieces considering that the one that was chosen to contain him should have been the biggest despite its small size and in one of the old trailers of Diablo II we can see the wanderer drooping on hes way a chunk of
what appears to be the Soul Stone which was probably too big to stick inside a head.
Regarding Bartuc, I did read it, and it looked to me as if you were trying to present him and Baal as some sort of partners, which would not have been true even if it was the same Bartuc.
But you may be right, maybe I am taking this too seriously.
I guess that so many times seeing people answer to such issues with nonsense I could easily trace back guild suited up lore and fan fiction stories made me a bit more aggressive then I should be.
Still, as a logical person I find it disappointing in some ways that I haven't yet came across someone who has sufficient knowledge in the lore Diablo in order to really delve into the more philosophical aspects of it.

well yes, i didnt intent to suggest Baal was in league with Bartuc, but through playing diablo 1 and two players have come across two Bartucs, whether they are one in the same is unclear.
yeh seeing people spurt out nonsense about diablo lore can be annoying, and i have been guilty of it at least once, but it is even more annoying to have someone accuse you of doing more than your fair share, and using sources that they havent, whether the source is correct or not, but we are getting of topic, so much so i beginning to foget what this thread is about, oh yeah the sin war.

hmm i thought it was just the paladin who killed the Evils in d2 since the other characters failed, like in d1 it was just the warrior who killed diablo
baal's soulstone will probably be destroyed in d3 or something

and I didnt use wiki, i was to lazy to do that, that requires going to another site. i just copied from another post here, maybe they used wiki. .
There's nothing wrong with your information. Most of that jazz comes straight from the Diablo manual word for word.
And when I talk about how mortals were a kind of bet to the forces of Heaven and Hell, I'll concede that it is merely my interpretation. However, it was Hell that saw the potential in mortals and were intrigued by them and resented them for it. Whereas the angles of Heaven were out of touch and rather aloof to the whole situation. All of them except Tyrael of course.
Ironically, both sides underestimated the mortals because in the end Tyrael couldn't count on a mortal not to free Baal, and in the end, it was the mortals who defeated all the Prime Evils.
I just think if they decide to use the idea of choose your side: good or evil, the sin war seems something they can work with. It reminds me of some biblical accounts of how God and the devil would toy with mortals to see which side they would choose (ex Job). The prime evils could be doing just that just cause getting more followers is a spit in the face for heaven. They could handle heaven without the help of mortals, since mortals are weaker than demons, but they would turn mortals to their cause to show heaven how weak their hold on Sanctuary really is.

The reason for the Sin War is because Heaven and Hell are in a stalemate. No side is able to gain the advantage. So, they turn to the world of men. Both sides believe that whoever men ally with would generally shift the balance to one side's favor. The only difference is that Hell uses evil tactics to achieve their means, as Heaven uses more.. "mortal friendly" tactics.
knightmare likes to repost the same thing in as much threads as he can to get the extra posts. he should find a way to do it fair and square like the rest of us instead of over and respamming the same thing.
My Diablo lore is probably less than everyone else's since I don't own any of the games besides the Playstation 1 version of the first one. My dad destroyed the Diablo 2 disk and threw out the book and I broke the PC Diablo 1 disk by accident. I think I will have to buy the full package for 30 bucks and find a better way of hiding it. All this can explain why I might have some difficulty formulating a plot line for Diablo 3. But the fact still remains that I am huge fan and hope to own the whole collection sooner than later.

My my, what a temper. Let me have you know that I can't post a thread of my own as of now. It has been quite a while since I've signed in and they seem to have restricted my membership.
I did apologize in some of the threads if that post had already been posted. The thought of the post just excited me.
So don't be foolish before you come to your own conclusions. Keep your sharp tongue and your witless comments to yourself.
muhahahaha it is good to see you have returned KnightmareX, prehaps Carloseus had best watch his touch lest he incur your wrath. but nough about peoples inability to control their tongues, prehaps we should get back on topic yes?

Yes, I agree. I did not wish to start an argument over so little a thing as being accused of spamming the channels.
And for the record, I have been gone for a while because I have been on vacation travelling the world.
As far as the topic and the Sin War goes. I think it has been covered respectfully in this thread. I do not know what more we may able to say about the subject.
The law of this site is not to take arms against fellow members. To throw insults around breaks that rule I would assume. Keep the peace, our true enemies are Diablo, Baal, Mephisto, their minions, and whoever tries to stop us from playing the games.
