This thread is for discussion of the Amazon in Diablo II. [/hr]
Elemental Amazons are something you very rarely see. Sure, you see Bowazons that use Guided Arrow and Multi-shot, but nobody really uses any of the elemental skills these days. However, Patch 1.13 may have brought about some changes in that regard, with the Immolation Arrow buffs as seen below.
Official Blizzard Quote:
Amazon
-Immolation Arrow - Increased radius of Explosion effect by 33% and Immolation effect by 50%.
-Immolation Arrow - Explosion effect damage increased by 20%.
-Immolation Arrow - Increased base duration by 33%.
In this case, we'll be using Immolation Arrow as our main attack, since it's received a decent buff. While this build is all fire, we'll still be able to kill the immunes via some item choices. For example, using the Skystrike bow adds Lightning damage, and using the Holy Freeze merc will add Holy Freeze, in addition to whatever gear he is equipped with. For the most part, this build is pretty straight forward, not very many surprises or tweaks that I can think of really. Here's what I went with:
Stats:
Strength: This depends on how rich you are in-game. However, as of now, you can respec your character if you overfill your Strength. Basically, you only need enough Strength to use all of your items.
Dexterity: This also depends on how rich you are in-game. However, as of now, you can respec your character if you overfill your Dex. Basically, you only need enough Dexterity to use all of your items, though Dexterity will also increase Attack Rating.
Can you kill hell baal on junk armor(IE non-duped, non-bought) with this build?
If you find your own gear then yes. Chances are tho you will have to trade for most of it so avoiding a lot of the nutty stuff being duped is virtually impossible
I remember building Immo Arrow zons in classic patch. That was before they added the skill delay. Back then it was a strong skill as long as you had something to tank for you and the monster did not move. With a fast IAS you could get a few fire patches burning the enemy quite quickly. When they introduced the skill delay that is when the skill become no longer good. It was better to build an Exploding Arrow Build ever since that time. I have not touch unmodded LoD since 2003 so I do not know how high the damage can get.

Strafe build can out do this build. I find it is the strongest bow build out there.

Yeah.
I don't know how immolation's work with those huge damage bonus, but problably not that good due the delay and the fact that the skill don't use much of your bow's damage, so it don't scale very well with gear.
You still want a good damage bow to help with leach. You will want things that will increase the fire damage of the skill. I do not know if the recent changes made Immo Arrow worthwhile.
In Eastern Sun Mod Immolation Arrow works nicely since the delay was removed and there are more options to increase the fire damage. Still Exploding Arrow outshines it.

The last skill you want to max out would be Pierce.
