I'm sure there have been topics about this before, but I'm really hoping that someone can give me some insight as to why I've gotten a 12 hour ban twice in one day? The first time I was off for about an hour. I got on Diablo, logged into my account, joined my friend's game and sat in there for about 30 minutes. Deciding I need to Xfer, I drop my stuff, left the game, get kicked to the log in screen, and when I log in, in place of my characters is the message:
You're connection has been temporarily restricted from this realm. Please try to log in at another time.
The second time this happened was hardly any different. I joined a game to trade with someone, and when I was finished, I left, and the rest is the same as above.
I can understand once in maybe a week. Or a few 2 hours restrictions. Fine. I could probably use the breaks from the game, anyway. But twice in a 24 hour period? For 12 hours, each? Is that necessary? And since this is an IP ban, I can't use my other computer/CD-Key. So now I'm stuck on a Saturday night without my Diablo fix.
...awesome.
Is it possible to reset my IP to get rid of this damned message? Flush it maybe? Clear the cache?
My one hope is that maybe, just maybe, when the moon aligns with the sun, and Jesus walks the earth once more, and 2Pac stops acting dead, that in 1.13 Blizzard will fix some of these issues.
Those temp bans are caused by flooding / spamming the game servers... things like joining and leaving many games fast, spamming chat, even spamming spells and chat together, then leaving a game might cause a temp ban...
The warden on B.net (Warden is like a program blizz uses to catch hackers) bans people for excessive commands etc...
If you want more info on a program that lets you bypass those temp bans, pm me.
If things like this are in BNet2, I don't think very many people will be pleased. But I'm sure Bnet2 will get more attention than Bnet, so once people start complaining about it enough, they'll do some changes. Hopefully.

Well, you have to understand that these effects were put into place to combat something that was a huge problem at the time. They were put into place on an outdated system. It was a quick fix, and nothing more.
That being said, yes, a lot of people are feeling the sting of this Warden, but there are ways to avoid getting temp-banned:
1) When changing rooms // games // accounts // characters, wait a few seconds per screen. The detection method is designed to look for any extremely rapid successions of connections within a certain amount of time.
2) Any action made in rapid succession dealing with the chat system can cause a flag to be placed on your IP address as a possible bot.
3) If you feel that your account was temporarily banned in error, one thing you can do from home is reset your modem by unplugging the power, waiting a moment, and plugging it back in. This will cause your modem to acquire a new IP address. (( Note: This works for all internet providers and all types of internet except those with a static IP. ))

Aye, I'm fully aware of the reason why it was placed and how to avoid it. And I followed the methods to avoid them... and it still didn't work.
I didn't bother resetting my IP like that, because I figured.. "Hey, it's Blizzard, I'm more than positive that they were smart enough to manage a way to make it so even when I reset my IP address, I'll still be banned."
But, the next time it happens, I will try anyway.
Thanks.
Where are the admins? They should be deleting every single one of these posts not on topic referring to the purple and not contributing at all.

If an admin could close this please, it seems anyone who has an input in this thread (as far as on topic goes) has said there share. Everyone else complains about an easy fix.

Where are the users reporting posts? We're not omniscient and that's actually stated word for word in the board rules. If you want to complain about something, don't do the same thing you're complaining about (as in, posting an off topic message about people posting off topic messages). Please report the post and someone will get to it as fast as is humanly possible.
Tsukiyomi, I'm sorry that no quick fix got posted, and I, too, express the deepest sympathy about this issue. It happens to me a lot, too. As per your request, your thread is now closed.
