Once I learned of Diablo III I felt like grabbing my old Diablo II game out of the bottom of my closet and starting a whole new campaign to reach lvl 99 with a barbarian... I still remember the day I decided Diablo II consumed my life and that I must stop if I wish to accomplish anything in my lifetime. It was in 2003... a long long long long time ago, the day I said I was no longer ever going to play Diablo II, I also decided I would just wait for Diablo III. Five years later... and I wish I still had my installation disks!!!! On the verge of a breakdown I decided to go back to an old classic, Diablo. I reached lvl 50 in single player in 3 days and was left very unsatisfied when I was slinging the grandfather sword and wearing my demonspike coat in just two days. So suddenly I have a very big itch to re-visit Diablo II. Does anyone else have a Diablo story like this, or am I the only one who banned himself from Diablo II?

yea i think im going to start playing wow again. i need to work on my paly. i tried going back to d2 and it gets boring playing by myself from scratch. it would be a different story it my friend played it with me, but they usually dont play at the same time i do.
AFG and I play a game lately in D2 that I invented. It's called Hide and Seek. It's like Hide and Seek in real life, only you play it in D2, you have to hide in one of the towns, and you cannot use your automap.
We usually play a town at a time. One time AFG disguised his Barbarian as one of the Barbarian sentries walking around in Act 5. It was quite ingenious.
I haven't played the original Diablo in awhile. I tried to a few weeks ago, but my CD is so badly damaged that it freezes all the time (I have the Playstation version, go me).
I quit Diablo II a month or so ago. I played for years, but now I don't really have anyone to play with, so it got old very quickly.

I uninstalled Diablo II about a month ago and have been to lazy to reinstall it, I plan to soon though. I haven't played Diablo I in about a year because I can't manage to locate the CD anywhere.

Well, what can I say.. only way to stop doing that is to start playing hardcore. You can't play hardcore while you're a bit tired, at least not if you don't want to loose your character, heh
Yes, I was playing hardcore at first, but I'm not used to the notebook keyboard so a hit the wrong buttons sometimes (ooh, and the fact that it was lagging a lot helped my decision), then I changed to my ladder char. And I wasn't tired at all, I usually get very excited while playing my fav games.

Do this a couple hundred more times and you may claim a place among some of the D2 Veterans around here. Though half of them have left.
Thanks Carloseus. I may be new to this forum but I'm a long time Diablo player, and that wasn't the first time I did that, really.
I hope I can meet you people who are still playing!

The golden age of Diablo II on Bnet is definitely over. But I still love the game and play it every chance I get. I got a couple of graves coming up this weekend, I will definitely be playing then.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

I think he means Grave Shifts. Probably wrong though.
Yes, I did mean grave shifts. Ten hours from 10p-8a with nothing to do but play Diablo II and Ikariam all night.
