I'd have to go with the Sorceress as my favorite (though I also have a soft spot for the Paladin). The Sorceress is the H.B.I.C. ("Head bitch in charge" - coined by New York) when it comes to spell casting and mana regeneration. Let's face it, we won't find mana all the time. Her Warmth skill saves her from death time and again. I have a preference for "cold" sorceresses. I like to completely obliterate my foes and lessening the carcass they leave behind. Hence, a cold sorceress is not a suitable companion for an uber summoning necro. Lastly, her frozen orb and her blizzard spells are to die for. None can escape. However, I have trouble with the Sorceress when she's in Nightmare and Hell difficulty, as there are many foes who've become immune to certain elemental attacks.

"May it be a light for you in dark places, when all other lights go out."
Sorceress is a great character to get started off with. Everytime I start ladder over I start a sorc. They are great for mfing the lower difficulties. I then use the stuff to build a hammerdin and he can take me all the way to the promised land to finish out my sorceress with his finds. I just like to be able to teleport right off the bat to do mf runs early I suppose instead of waiting forever to get nigma. Once the sorc can handle hell it's right back to her though.

The blind mind's eye replies with a sigh and a tear of contempt for those who see the world as it truly is.
What he said.
I was thinking the same thing.
