Way, way back when the game first came out i was looking online and found out that the regurgitators ate dead bodies. As young as i was i thought that it would eat my body along with all of the items i had saved up until act 4. So when Act 4 came around i was trying my best to avoid the regurgitators. But i couldn't do that forever, the time came when i died next to one and i also died next to a blunderbore which i had recently killed, and his body was just underneath mine. As i watched the death cam the regurgitator ate the blunderbore's body, i freaked out because i had thought that he ate my body and slammed my fist on the escape button then i quit didn't find out until i played my character the next day that it was all safe and sound, and that regurgitators do not eat your bodies.
Also another time i had been playing for about 3 hours, and the old room my computer used to be in it had a switch that controlled the whole power for that room. So i am just sitting there all happy because i recently found a lot of perfect skulls. It was dinner time and my Mom walks in the room and says "Why do you have the light off?" and then hits the switch that controlls the power to the whole room shutting off the computer and all of my happiness.
Mmm.. Being about 11 years old and after a year of begging, finally my mother lets me get the game. (She was right against me playing M games). My restriction was I was not aloud to play in public games, only passworded ones with my big cousin, and my friend who also got the game when I did. (weeeak). So, every Saturday morning I would wake up and just listen till my mother left to go out (She went out for 2-4 hours every Saturday morning), and get on D2 and play public games. You guys have no idea the fun that brought, as I was only aloud to do it for a couple hours every week. My friend and cousin would usually come with me, cow runs, rushes, trade games, quests, it was all just so fun. Miss those days when Diablo was so fun haha.. Still is, but since 1.10, the game has changed.. And I don't like the change. I wish I could play 1.09.
I espicially miss how trading in game was. Nobody really does it like before, now D2JSP and other trading forums has really changed that part of the game. I liked when sojs were common currency, it was so realistic, as they were hard to come by. Even the bugged items back then were great. They weren't overly powered, they were just right, Occy rings were my favourite.. And Ith weapons, those were just great. I only ever managed to get myself a Ith bow though haha.. Never a sword. Someone make a 1.09 battle.net
i know how you feel about the 1.09, it was so much better than it is now
Some guy just asked me if I wanted an enigma and an soj...and poof he gave them too me. It made up for the NUMEROUS timers people have swindled shit out of me
Ok, so im in a nightmare Game with my BowZon helping my two friends who are level 40's kill diablo (They had really horrible built characters.)I forgot to buy potions. I got stuck in a big crowd and they weren't helping me. I escaped and got angry so i went hostile toward them. They went hostile toward me and i stared killing minions again. I was about to die and almost made it back to my portal when my friends come out of nowhere and gang rape me i later owned them.

My best memories on D2 are when I found a perfect paladin torch not once, but twice. Now my smiter has a perfect one and my hammy has one. Though I think I may trade my smiter's seeing as how he doesn't really need it. I just keep it for when I duel. By the way both torches dropped after uber leveling people for about 2 hours. I still have yet to find my perfect sorcy torch. 20-19 is my top there.
Another thing that happened to me was trying to trade anni for anni. I guess you can't trade it in the screen so you must drop. I dropped mine. Dude came over and started juggling mine. All the while I am trying to grab it as I here the sound of the anni repeatedly hitting the ground. His friend came in somehow got the anni and they left without so much as a word. As heartbroken as I was I just laughed. Damn hackers!!

The blind mind's eye replies with a sigh and a tear of contempt for those who see the world as it truly is.
when u pvp someone, and u either kill them brutally then say coins as u take his dropped monies, or if he runs back into rogue encampment u say "say hi to akara for me" ^^
i said that alot back then lol...
edit* Oh and remember those scams for sojs or wf or something, where the game name was like 3 soj for wf (back when it was worth like 8) and he trades u, shows u the item, then cancels, then u desperately want the trade so u keep doing that, then finally he accepts, your all excited but when u look in your inv, its like a hydra bow of stun or some crap...happend alot to me

When someone ganked my HC level 92 I almost cried *sigh* lol. 2 guys come in partied and just spanked me hard in the middle of cows. This was back in .09 when there was white swords and ITH swords or whatever I got 1 shot by the second guy.
I don't know if I'm the only person who thinks this, but I remember when the best things in the game were rare and the best players would all have different items.
I always thought LOD sort of ruined the uniqueness of ones character. It just seemed like everyone had the same equipment and (obviously) looked the same.
That is why i'm starting classic character again, anyone want to join?
I remember my buddy and I waking up at 530am when his dad left for work with one word slurring outta his mouth as we bolted up the stairs. Diablo.... and by muscle memory i was right next to him watching the opening character animations. The Necro was awe inspiring. And figuring out there was no load sequence when you entered the mini-dungeons.

The first time I ever got an SOJ. Back when they could get you absolutely anything. I felt like I had one the lottery.

i was 16 or 17 when D2 was released, my best bud at the time got it for his birthday and i was stayin over at his place and he said "have you played/seen D2?" and i'm like, 'no, i remember D1, though from a couple years back' he chose me a necro and the game begun. I've never seen anything as epic as that opening cinematic or since, thus, my obsession was born. I got diablo2 and a new pc for my bday. No game has done that for me since. Not one.
when i was watching the gameplay video, i remembered how awesome is that sond when something drops from a chest or book stand..i really like how they kept it like before
I have to agree! When I heard the scrolls drop to the same sound in D2 . I got a little twinge of nostalgia. lol

Can't remember all the old ones.. best thing was prolly first time in battle.net some months after release when I finally got internet. The chat felt so epic, people hanging there etc. My first bnet sorc was also one of my favourite characters. All my single player sorcs were some crappy fire sorcs with whatever skill builds This bnet one was a real static orber
FIrst time I imbued lance with my second barb it was 330 with cold damage. I prolly never had so big smile on my face.Traded it later for 18 sojs and 282 +2 baba lance.
My first hc char went up to 60 level. Pole baba with some pretty ok bec-de-corbin. Then we took a duel with my friend who had 66 lance baba.. I lost but it was pretty close that I didn't get him at the start I made a lance baba after that.
At start of LOD there was this hack that allowed u to dual wield 2h weapons.. so there were this babas that had leap attack and 2x war pikes or something .. it gave them massive damage since both of the weapons counted. But the most deadliest thing in that was if they came at your screen you timed out from the game.. leaving u there as a sitting duck for the barb (this was in hc). Well me and my friend were aware of this and we also had this hack to prevent from dropping the game. So we were doing bloody foothills in hell with friend he had 80+ sorc an so did I .. he was firewall and I was meteor. Then this 66 level baba hostiles us and comes to bloody we knew it had to be a dual wielder since it was unlikely that low level barb would hostile otherwise. He prolly tought we were easy kills well my friend tried to get him to firewall at first but didnt succeed and he had to leave the game since the baba was able to get close. Then the baba went after me .. I ran away teleporting and running and at the same time dropping meteors behind me.. didn't take long when one of them hit him and he died at once he prolly didnt have so good resists at lvl 66 in hell It was the first time I ever killed someone in hc and I was so damn excited about it and happy that it was a lame hacker who failed miserably
Creating games called FREE HERE, having them fill up within two seconds then telling everyone they have to catch me for free items. If someone actually does i say their reward is 7 gold.

Same I always felt like I never had the equipment everyone else did because of how often I restarted characters, and didn't like repetitive runs.
