My friend got one and brought me to a game to check it out. It was so funny. He said, "Dude! you gotta check this out." He then dropped it. I picked it up and was like, awesome, what does it do? his response, "....... uh,... i don't really know....."
Funniest conversation in diablo 2 lod I ever had.

Dupa ce am citit asta, am gasit urmatoarea chestie:
“Blizzard will announce the next Diablo II patch (v1.12) soon. The patch, which is being called “The Adria Patch”, will add three quests to the somewhat barren Act 4 and will reportedly include a great deal of new content. The great news is from a highly placed source in Blizzard’s office of backstory development. He confirms that the new patch will “activate” the Standard of Heroes and also introduce three new Act 4 quests, including one that apparently involves a character from the original Diablo game. This storyline for this quest will lead directly to the story for Diablo 3: The Siege of Heaven which reportedly is on the fast track for release this year.
Act 4: Bigger, Better.
According to distribution manager Ophelia Bunns, players will find Adria
the witch from the original “Diablo” game among the “trapped souls” seen writhing on pillars and the ground in Act 4. She will give two of the three additional quests in the act, and Tyrael will send the players to her ruined home to retrieve an important item in the “Return to Tristram” quest before they take on Diablo. The real trick will be to actually find Adria, whose location will always be random. However, the original three Act 4 quests will remain the same.”
100% se preconizeaza aparitia lui Diablo 3. Data lansarii: Q4 2008. http://ideilemele.net/page/7/

Figured I'd just copy those points over here to save on some thread necromancy.
I wonder if those rumours will be anything close to what the actual patch brings.
Is it just me, but was there more buzz over the rumours about the 1.12 patch than there is about the fact that there IS a new patch coming?

Patch ? Warden? whah? Just gimmee something, dammit! *removes diablo needle from arm.... arrrgghhhh
Warden is basically spyware that Blizz puts in its games. It enables Blizz to know what your running with your Blizzard games so that it can get you if you use a bot or a hack.
Imho, its immoral for Blizz to use Warden, but its already in Starcraft and Warcraft 3, so it only makes sense for it to be in Diablo 2 as well. It's a logical step.
It scares me that so few people actually know what Warden is, let alone that it exsists...

Me too, the patch may force me to crack open the game again. I just hope I can find it
If I'm wrong and it IS new content then I will have to buy D2 (for the FOURTH FUCKING TIME) and play it...

Lol. What if they make SoH socketable? Like it adds +2 skills and 5-10 to all res/stats?

thought of something--- What if in the patch, the towns are being invaded by people from other parts of the world, that we do not know about yet, and we end the patch with our character about to go to a new area to investigate what's going on.
That would be neat, that the town is filled with random people, and we would want to know why, right?
Or that ALL NPCs can talk now, and they talk about what they have seen or heared about.
Ooooh, just though of this. This would suck. If the patch is another cinematic and its like a epilogue and at the end it says like end of the Diablo series or something. That would suck balls.

Very interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes, but I'm not expecting a huge overhaul or anything. Some balancing perhaps, or a new special event such as Chaos Tristram/Lilith. But definately no new act or othre such extensive additions.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
i would assume it would include warden and also a no cd fix also he said he confirmed one feature correct? i dont see why blizzard would patch a game if not to revive it? its been a long time since we have seen a patch hopefully this leads into something i really dont want to get my hopes up though
well it could very well be the adria patch with the 3 new quests that introduce diablo III. if this is true then it would be sweet if they put a video or the opening video in diablo 3 now that would be sweet. i would jump up and down screaming my head off.

What if they put the game announcement in the form of a patch, like what necro said, put the opening video of diablo 3.

You realize 3-6 weeks would put it rougly around the time that the GDC is taking place in February. If they launch the patch the night before the event and make a ... world event ... happen sometime coinciding with the GDC ... anyone getting where I'm going with this? (Apologies for the wonton use of the ellipses ... ah, crap I did it again.)

June 06 was so long ago, I forget how we even first heard about the rumours of the "adria" patch.
As the quests in said patch as in act 4, I don't think they would let you know about DIII.
It would be like adding the destroy Mephisto's soulstone quest, if it wasn't already in there. I imagine they would be side quests of sorts, not typically storyline related, like say killing a Prime or even Lesser Evil.

I firmly believe that the Lesser Evils will make an appearance in the next Diablo title. It makes sense that they could show up in Diablo II to set up the lore for a new installation.
Being that both Belial and Azmodan, along with their armies are still in the Burning Hells, which we really only saw a part of in D2/LOD, I don't think they would be included in a patch, maybe some sort of Lilith encouter with a as yet un-named demon, but no, I don't think Belial and/or Azmodan will make an appearance in d2/LOD, d3 for sure though.
