by not releasing the game, blizz gets more attention because of the anticipation, ultimatley raising interest in d3, which will not only be bought by us, but for trend-followers. so yeah, hold out those poor souls for a couple of years, and theyll make money because all gamers will buy it for 50bucks as soon as it comes out, instead of waiting for pricedrop. seriously, how many of u guys would even spend $100 to buy it right away? i know i would if i had the money. blizz can make mad money with d3.
the patches are just to show that blizz still remembers about the old successful game once released, and that the diablo project altogether hasnt been stopped.

Of all things important in Online Gaming, there is one thing no game developer can "fix" - it's community.
We dont have room for negativity lol.. diablo 3 is coming out. it took me like ten minutes to write this because i got into a head on collision last tuesday in Moscow and one of my arms has a cast on it.. lol i can play diablo3 with 1 hand!!!!!!!!!!!
well i think that the patch might be released with those additional quests in order to begin the story for diablo 3. think about it. it will introduce clues to summon curiousity from those who play and to bring back that lust for the game. this will keep us busy trying to guess what the next one will be about and then introduce the game. we will be salivating and needing it by now and that will secure a crowd of people that want it, and those will spread the word and convince more to buy the game. by the time the game comes out there will be millions ready to buy it and blizzard wil be happily putting our cash in their pockets.
And Shepherds we shall beFor thee, my Lord, for thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand Our feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomeni Patri Et Fili Spiritus Sancti.
among the trapped souls in act 4 you will find the witch adria from diablo, she will give you 2 of the three new quests that patch will make, one of these quests takes you back to tristram
BREAKING DIABLO 2 NEWS: Patch 1.12 to be announced! (by Tanith)
>***** has learned within the last 30 minutes that plans are being
>made to announce the next Diablo II patch--1.12--next week with
>installation to be on Tuesday, April 18. The patch, which is being called
>"The Adria Patch", will add three quests to the somewhat barren Act 4 and
>will reportedly include a great deal of new content.
>Save those SoH's!
>I just got off the phone with Vault researcher Gabby Potanooey, who in turn
>has been in contact with a highly placed source in Blizzard's office of
>backstory development. He confirms that the new patch will "activate" the
>Standard of Heroes and also introduce three new Act 4 quests, including one
>that apparently involves a character from the original Diablo game. This
>storyline for this quest will lead directly to the story for Diablo III:
>The Siege of Heaven which reportedly is on the fast track for release later
>Act 4: Bigger, Better.
>According to distribution manager Ophelia Bunns, players will find Adria
>the witch from the original "Diablo" game among the "trapped souls" seen
>writhing on pillars and the ground in Act 4. She will give two of the three
>additional quests in the act, and Tyrael will send the players to her
>ruined home to retrieve an important item in the "Return to Tristram" quest
>before they take on Diablo. The real trick will be to actually find Adria,
>whose location will always be random. However, the original three Act 4
>quests will remain the same.
>Rest assured that we will continue to track developments as they occur, and
>report them to you asap.
thats about all i know, i dont eve nknow if it true or not, i hope it is, but from what ive read lately around the place, im not too sure. its definitely better than uber ubers or some weirdo shit like that
-In this world man's destiny is controlled by some transcendental force or entity like the hand of God, at least man knows he has no control over his own will.
-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
ha thats what i meant to post. Found it in "similar threads" and was just curious. Thats kinda a blower to know we got denied this b4...
