Hey all - i'm the leader of a clan (JKZ) on north american servers. My clan hovers around 115 members, many of whom are below paragon 200. all clan members can invite others, and we have no requirements to join. the only requirements we have in the clan are a) not to be a jerk; dont be inactive - either by not playing D3 a lot, or by being silent in chat / never joining our runs
my question is this... how do you all go about figuring out whom to get rid of from your clan. it easy if someone is just an a*hole - its a simple ban. tracking which player is active, etc, is quite tedious. do you all have suggestions? do you make certain officers responsible for different members (i.e. officer takes care of people named from A - F),
I'd like to make sure people in the clan are active, yet dont want to boot someone who just happened to go away on vacation. I also enjoy having some newer players in the clan, so i dont want to boot based on paragon level....
any suggestions on how to organize this whole thing? thanks in advance.

NA servers - add me if ya want - ysoserious#1178. - i run a clan if anyone wants an invite. no requirements to join - as long as your nice and friendly your more than welcome
I have seen clan leaders "friend" all clan members so they can view the activity using the Offline Friends section of the social window. Since your clan allows all members to invite new members that could be a tad challenging to maintain as well as add 10-15 minutes per day of clan management to your plate. But it is a fairly easy way to see who has been offline for 3 weeks. Accounting for planned vacation is another matter. Probably the only way to do that is either let clan members post clan news or keep a website. Either of those solutions requires the person going on vacation to take action so it won't be 100% accurate but might be something to consider.
great ideas, and thanks for the response! we have a clan website - i'm just working out how to go about letting people post to it. also my friends list is almost always nearly full but i will look into it. thanks !

NP - good luck with a solution. One thing that just popped into my head is paying for a second account and use that account to "Friend" everyone in the clan. Then you don't have to worry about friend cap. Kind of stupid to have to pay for good clan management, but it is an option.
now that is a great idea! thanks i'll use that. I have a few alternate accounts that are in the clan. perfect solution for now thanks !

There's no easy way. Clan limit is 150 people, friends list limit is 100 people, IIRC, so you'd need two accounts to "befriend" all members.
You can see who has been online recently (past 6 days) if their paragon level is displayed in the roster. After 6 days (I believe it's 6, but not sure) the paragon level is hidden, so that gives you a first "filter". The next step to find out who's been inactive is to check their profile and see the last achievement date. It's only one indication; many people play a lot without getting an achievement, so that should not be the only measurement, but gives another filter (recent achievement ensures that person was online). The most accurate, but tedious way is to check their armory profile on the website. It shows "last online" date for each character. You can either check each character, or see in the roster with which character they've been online last and only check that character in the armory. It'll give you the exact date they logged in the last time. This is very tedious, so I'd only use this to make sure you don't accidentally kick someone who actually has been active ~10 days ago.
But of course, there's another caveat. What about someone who comes online once a week, logs in, and vanishes again? Not an active member in your clan, never plays, but still there. If you wanted to catch those, the only way is to watch their paragon progression using a tool like d3rockstars.com. Well... that's almost like Big Brother and extremely tedious, it'd probably be quicker to ask in clan chat or on a forum on your clan website if anyone has played with this person in the last few weeks.
I really hope Blizzard introduces new clan features for managing those things, though...
thanks for all that info. I have a full time job where I get paid to do things such as tracking down people... not about to spend my time online researching whether a clan member's been active or not.. and as you pointed out, you can appear active if you login for a few minutes a day, but never actually play. I guess ill just leave it up to officers discretion or whatever. Or I can just boot everyone and have them all re-request a clan invite lol.
thanks for all the responses folks. I really do hope, like you others do, that blizz makes it easier to manage clans.
