I'll get stomped at BGH and Angry Birds on a professional level too. Because I never play those games, and someone out there is playing 24/7.

The only reason DOTA caught on is because people liked Warcraft 3, but were too newb to control units and 2/3 heroes. Just give them one hero to control and they'll have more fun.

I've been playing Heroes of Newerth for 2 years now with thousands of hours of experience under my belt, I can tell you now that the game is far from newb-friendly. It has a steep learning curve and takes skill to play.
In fact, I can go as far as saying it is even more complex than Diablo in terms of skills required. Why? Because DOTA (and equivalent) is solely PvP.
