Radeon seems to have taken a firm lead tbh, so unless you're just an nvidia fanboy there just isn't much to be excited about.

Problem is not many companies make their games on ATI. Nvidia sponsors much of the game industry's equipment so that games run perfectly on their cards and their drivers are always up to date even during games' Beta tests.
A huge case like that can be observed with Rage which was close to unplayable for many ATI gamers for a few days after launch. Blizzard have also had trouble with ATI drivers.

Hehe, what? It's pretty common knowledge that, outside of the dual card (AMD 6990), the GTX 680 and 590 are the two fastest cards out there. The 7970 is either just behind those two or significantly behind, depending upon the benchmark/game. Include the superior drivers and the close ties they have with the gaming industry overneathe mentioned, Nvidia is clearly in the lead right now.
I consider myself agnostic when it comes to gpu's, so using the "fanboy" excuse of yours isn't going to fly. I'm currently using a 6870 but won't hesitate to buy a different brand when the time comes to upgrade.

For every nvidia card on the market there is a comparable radeon card that cost far less.
And as far as the mobile market is concerned, its not even a contest. The 7970m is absolutely crushing everything else out there atm.

This is simply not true. At the high-end 7970 and 680 are both hovering around the $500 mark depending upon the manufacturer. The 680 is clearly the better card. At other price points on down the line it's completely mixed. Some price points favor AMD while others favor Nvidia. A couple quick google or newegg searches proves this to be true.

Do you mean the card AMD JUST released? Of course it's going to be the fastest available and will be until Nvidia releases their GTX 680M this summer.
Basically, two 680s in the physical space of one. Also costs as much as two 680s ($1000). Very classy looking design, but probably too loud for my tastes
It appears that people hoping for the 670/660 will have to keep waiting...
Yeah, the GTX 680 is pretty much impossible to find here, and no sight of a 670 so it looks like i'm going to have to "settle" for a 7970 for my new build.
I'm wondering if I should buy a 680 or a 7970, they're both great and amazing but I feel like games are optimized for Nvidia alot more, including D3. which has promotions all over Nvidia pages.

If you can wait, I'd hold out for a 680 for reduced noise and power consumption. But the 7970 is still a good card, and both are overpowered for Diablo 3*
