So I have been playing in the beta now for about a month or so and I thought that i had a decent computer and graphics card to play with no problem. I was wrong... So I am reaching out to the forums for help because I am pretty sure everyone out there knows more than I do. I am not too great with computers but I do know just a little more than the basics. I will start off with my computer specs and then will give the problem with the graphics. I know my GFX card is outdated but I figured it would at least be able to play on low settings.
Computer:
Gateway DX4850
OS Win 7 64-bit
6 GB RAM DDR3
Intel Core i5 @ 2.80GHz
nVidia Geforce GT 220 w/ 1 GB DDR3 RAM
(if you need any more info please let me know)
The Problem:
Basically the problem is that the graphics sort of "skip"... all the time. I dont know if this is video lag or not but it is very annoying. The weird thing to me is that there is no difference whether or not I have it on all high settings (shadows included) or all low settings. Also changing the resolution doesn't make a difference either so I just play on 1920x1080, same results as 1280x720...
(Side Note) I dont know if it matters but i play COD MW3 on high settings and it runs absolutely perfectly, no issues.
Could this be a simple fix of getting a new GFX card? If so that would be great. I feel as if I have enough memory to at least play D3 so I dont know if that's the issue but then again, that is why i am reaching out.
I had a similar problem recently when I re-installed the beta. At 1st I thought it was my FPS, so I downloaded FRAPS to check it out. Nope, FPS was good. Then I looked down and saw my latency bar, and it was blood red, nearly 1200 ms.
I knew my connection was fine, so I ascertained that the game must be sapping my speed somehow. Sure enough, the launcher had P2P sharing turned on. Once I turned it off it worked fine.
Note: The only way I could get the launcher to reappear instead of just launching the game was to rename the diablo 3 directory, and then try to start the game. Turned off P2P sharing, and then exited out of the launcher and changed the directory back.
PS: Your computer specs are fine to play D3.

One is never hurt by being given additional choices, only by taking them away. A QUADRILLION MAGIC FIND is worthless if you can't kill shit!
Your specs do appear fine to play D3, but there are a couple of things that are worth mentioning:
1) D3 is still in beta, it's not tuned perfectly for all systems. Put a bug report on Blizz's forums and let them know.
2) COD is a much older game than D3 now, kinda hard to compare.
3) Your GPU is definitely looking like the weak link. The GT220 came out in 2009 and was only a mid-range card at the time.
Try getting new GeForce drivers, updating Windows and defrag your HDD.
If that doesn't help, it might be time to invest in a new GT5xx type video card.

The 220 can play the game as long as you dont try to play on max settings or something.... I play on laptop with 240m and it works fine at mid settings.

Try the suggestions people have given you (update drivers, turn off p2p).
