Im a little weary of refur but it is a good price. I think I want a bigger screen then 14'' but Ill have to weigh my options and go from there. I also considered a macbook but they are pretty pricey and would blow my budget out of the water.
There are a lot of choices out there that will play D3. My advice is as follows:
- Intel i5 or better.
- MORE than 4GB of ram
- nVidia graphics (there is an ambient occlusion setting that looks pretty sweet)
- Check TigerDirect.com (seemed like they had more options than NewEgg for this)
- If possible, bring a computer geek with you to the store. Sales people are not always trust worthy.
Dont Really like Acer very much either as others has stated earlier in the thead, ASUS on the otherhand.... love those
There's a few alternatives, if you're aiming to stay on a 1000$ budget.
If you wanna press that budget to the max I'd say this is a very good choice. http://www.newegg.co...N82E16834230215
and if your happy playing low settings you could go with something in the 500$ class, just make sure there's a decent graphics card and not some built in crap.

You don't have to get Nvidia. Frankly Radeon has taken the lead in graphics development, and are often cheaper. 4 Gb is also plenty of memory, you don't need more than that, though I wouldn't get less than that either.

One is never hurt by being given additional choices, only by taking them away. A QUADRILLION MAGIC FIND is worthless if you can't kill shit!
I'm a big fan of Toshiba laptops. I also had an Acer laptop and the monitor crapped out within a couple years among a few other hardware failures.
For Toshiba, maybe a Satellite Pro? Or if you're willing to spend a bit more, get an Ultrabook.
Whatever you do, what I at least recommend you do is try to save money on the harddrive if the laptop only comes with an HDD. Then invest that extra money later in an ssd of your choice.
Any of those you posted will work. Get an Asus i5 or better, 4-6GB RAM, and for video cards I would go with a GTX 460m/GT 550m/GT 540m. These specs would be my recommendation as a good minimum. Spend more $ and there would actually be a significant difference but you would be able to play the game pretty well with my recommendation. Although a buddy of mine has GTX 580M and Battlefield 3 looks so good on it.
Honestly man, ANY computer you buy over $500 will definitely be able to do everything you need and run D3 on at least med graphics. If it comes with any graphics card whatsover you should be able to handle ultra. I say this because laptop resolution is usually low (versus a 1080p desktop monitor). Just get an i3/i5, 4gb+ ram, and something decent for graphics (ati/nvidia and youre golden).

Why do you want a 2nd hard drive? I could only assume storage.
If you want storage you stick with the old regular mechanical drives, dont get a SSD. Just buy an external drive, or an external bay + HDD.

This is just a gaming computer so i wanted high end everything, i plan on keeping this computer for a very very long time so i wanna make sure that any games in the future will be of no problem, Going for game design in the "near future"-(jay wilson) so having this laptop could be of some use when the time comes. If all else fails i just have a high end spec laptop yah know haha.
Mm, I still recommend getting a similarly priced Toshiba. Acer makes awesome monitors, but their laptops are much to be desired for. And Toshiba's just go on forever. They're very well built.

1000 is the absolute tops I can go. The less the better. Does anyone have any thoughts or different options they know of?
Thanks.

The 460m will smoke that 540...
