Howdy there folks, first time posting so just looking for a heads up if my laptop can handle this game on good settings. I noticed the requirements on another site and was unsure if I met the requirements. I have an Asus G51J with the specs showing here... http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=5315&review=asus g51j
Any relevant info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Oh i'm a big fan of the Asus... and like Alienware until they joined with Dell. Bad experience with Dell. I payed like 2k for it almost 2 years ago I think now... so it should be much cheaper. Thanks for the replies guys, i'm a little relieved as I have the game on pre-order and just realized today that I should have checked that minor detail lol. Cheers.
The D3 compatibility specs seem very very very very low-end. I'm sure most people will be fine. The graphics in game are nothing less than meh. So I'm pretty sure that 90% of people worried about their computers can run it.
that asus has a video card, sandybridge, 4g ram(probably upgradable to 8g for~80$,) and a backlit keyboard which is killer. You will be able to max a lot of setting with that rig.

Your computer would have to be pretty ancient to not be able to run the game on medium-high settings, and even if it cant, the amount of money that would be required to buy/build a pc that would be 'up to scratch' would be super minimal. Then you get rigs like mine which just overkill this game and 99% of current games

I know this is a Diablo 3 site and I've gotten more than enough answers and thank you... but all this mention of what my video card is or isn't. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M Cuda 1GB is what it lists under the system specs.
For what its worth, I have an asus G53SW and it can run both wow, and SC2 on nearly max settings at 1980x1024. I dont think a 460m is all that much faster then a 260m. I'm sure it will run diablo 3 at medium settings or better without a hitch.(keeping FSAA turned off of course, the laptop chips just can't handle the extra processing too well).
I too am in the market to buy a new Laptop for D3. This looks like it will handle it fine... what price do retailers want for that model?
I'm trying to save money but my student loan has granted me some extra cash for a laptop so I might just say F it and buy Alienware.
Look out on newegg for the more current versions. I got my G53SW from there last october for 799.99. do NOT get a G53SX, its a 560m instead of a 460m which sounds better, but it has a 128-bit memory bus instead of a 192-bit memory bus. the extra cpu speed doesn't make up for the memory bandwith loss in 80%+ tests.

That CPU isn't sandybridge...it's a clarksfield, the first of the Intel cpu families. The sandybridge family start at a codename of at least 2600. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Core_i7_microprocessors#.22Sandy_Bridge.22_.2832_nm.29_2
But it will still be able to run the game well despite the old i7.
