I only play diablo 3, other than that i use the pc for multimedia mostly and for work; just regular internet stuff.
I'm planning on getting the next setup:
- Gigabyte GA-970A-D3P
- FX-6 Core Vishera 6300
- 2x4GB Gskill sniper CL10 DDR3
Later i will upgrade the PSU + VGA; not now because i can't but i wanna know if i will get a few more frames on diablo 3; is not my main reason to upgrade my pc but it will help a lot if i get more than 5fps at G55+ :|
Plz don't recommend more expensive hardware, i know that there are better stuff out there but i live in a shitty country with a lot of import restrictions so that's what i can get for the money i have (used stuff is not an option; it's heavily overprecied here)
Get a SSD, they are affordable now. I would recommend that the largest one you can afford. If cost is an issue get a smaller one, but at least a 128GB. The are now under $100 USD, I've seen them as low as $60 at this capacity. 256GB are currently hovering around $100. But if you can find a deal on 512GB one, I recommend that. The SDD is easily the best upgrade for the money. It drastically increases the load times of both the operating system and applications. I recommend this now, because boot drive is never a plug and play experience. So, get one of these first. Once you go SSD, you'll never go back to a HDD for booting. As I've said, this is by far the best thing you can do. Boot ups from an SSD are twice as fast. I used to hate Windows updates because it would require a reboot. Now they are actually tolerable. If you can't afford this because of budget, I recommend you wait a pay cycle and save the extra money for this upgrade.
I run mine like this, apps & OS on the SDD and data storge on a HDD slave drive. You can reuse your current HDD for this. When you get the cash, adding a third HDD is simple. Or if that isn't an option, copying you data drive is simple, just a drag and drop. Again this is not the case for your OS unless you some experience with cloning software to transfer your OS. But, I recommend a fresh install on a new rig.
I recommend the 128, because anything smaller will either limit installing frequently used apps or the size page file. The page file is important because it will, in effect increase the access rate to overspill from your RAM. This is akin to vastly increasing your RAM, because you rather than reading and writing to a mechanical device, it's completely electronic. There are no delays relative to physical disks that have to "spin up" before they reach peak performance.
Don't forget SSD has only a limited amount or read/writes. Putting your pagefile on it, with a too low amount of RAM, will destroy your SSD faster. Getting 8 GB of RAM is not a bad idea.
Also as said before, look for a cpu with high speed rather than amount of cores. Often, more cores will result is lower speed, as they are clocked lower. In general, I would think 2 cores are plenty.
I wouldn't waste money on an SSD regarding/concerning Diablo only. If you get one, put windows on it and not games. it won't help Diablo anyhow, maybe for loading screens, but it's a waste of money imo. Put the money into GPU or CPU instead. What's the resolution you are playing or plan to play with?
I'd suggest you go intel, as it has much better per core performance, and that's what matters the most - at least in this case. Even G3258 or an i3 can handle D3 better.
my i7 4700hq and gt750m vga laptop with 12gb ram still drops under 30fps ... even in solo barb play. some other games have other issues because of win 8.1 but generally all other games works fine with high settings.

Waste of money? Rofl. SSD is THE biggest upgrade you can get for Diablo 3 specifically. It's a game for which the SSD helps immensely. Not just for MUCH faster loading of maps (instant as opposed to ~2 sec when you use WP/ TP), but it also helps with the framerate drops when too much stuff is on the screen.
Plus it also makes your entire PC lightning-fast compared to HDD's. Once you try SSD, you don't go back. I'd go as far as to say it's the most crucial PC component for me since I bought my first one - it generally makes a world of difference.
I stated "regarding Diablo only". Enough said. I own an SSD for 4 years now and I know what it can do and not.
@entro: Thanks for the recomendations i'm not looking for a big OC so 4ghz/4.2ghz would do it, if i can get the ud3p i would get it i have to check on my dealer store.
@Tconl: thanks too, i'm not a big gamer anymore, nowadays i just play Diablo 3 and the casual cities: skylines, the only games i'm waiting for is half-life 3 and fallout 4 i would try to get a better ssd but if i can't i would go for the kingston one, i'm reading everywhere that if you never had an ssd the difference is going to be amazing anyways so i'm not really concert about it (and ultimatelly in the future i could add another one bigger and let the kingstone one for data)
@entro you're the man! i read a lot this last week about hardware and ask in every place i could, lucky me. i found a ud3p in stock so i'm going for it + hyper 212 evo so i can oc a little bit, if i can get the ssd (850evo) i'm going for it but i'm not purchasing the kingston (too many bad reviews and comments about it)
@shina Intel is not an option here, the price difference is huge (in argentina at least) so i can't even look at them, plus i'm not the biggest gamer anymore and i don't edit video so i think amd would do it the review already read it btw! but thanks a lot for your time!
I'm gonna update when i have everything installed, i hope i had everything here for season 3 launch day
Well everything went bad but now i'm back on the game.
The mother came glitched (?) from the go, wouldn't give video on my vga, tried everything, tested all the hard on another mother, no issues at all. Returned the mother and got it back with a new bios and now is working perfect.
- Aerocool GT Advance (mid tower cheap but decent)
- Seasonic M2II 520W (40A on 12v)
- M5A97 R2.0 (couldn't get the gigabyte, still this one is decent enough for my Vstock OC)
- Fx-6300 (need maintenance for OC lol)
- 2x4gb Gskill sniper at 2133mhz
- SSD Samsung 850EVO 120gb (win7 + D3, half free)
- WD Black 500GB (games n'stuff)
- WD Green 2TB (Multimedia)
- XFX HD7750 (old vga, couldn't afford an upg lol)
I'm getting 60/70fps most of the time while playing alone, solid 30/40 playing with 4man on G45s. Almost no-loading screens whatsoever. W7 boot in like 5sec. or so.
Pretty happy i wouldn't lie haha! thanks to everyone who cheaped in with knowledge or opinions!
Sup guys!
I'm currently rocking this old as fuck config:
- Biostar A780L
- Phenom II 555 3.2ghz
- 2x2gb DDR2 ram kingston Value
- ATI 7750HD 1Gb
- 500GB WD Black
I only play diablo 3, other than that i use the pc for multimedia mostly and for work; just regular internet stuff.

Good luck with this.

Thank you so much everybody
The final setup is gonna be the next:
- Thermaltake Commander Red
- Gigabyte GA-970A-D3P
- FX-6 Vishera 6300
- DDR3 2133 Mhz (2x4Gb) Gskill Sniper CL10
- SSD 120GB (i don't know which one yet; kingston300now if i don't have to buy the 850 evo)
- CM Hyper 212 evo (to pump the 3.5ghz to 4.2ghz)
I'm gonna upgrade my VGA + PSU later but i hope i get more stability and frames on D3

I don't play anything besides Diablo 3
