Ok, so I'm pretty irritated at blizzard right now, and I posted this originally on the Bnet general forums and within 15 minutes the thread had been deleted and my account suspended for 7 days. They said " the previous post was removed due to the fact that it offered no constructive feedback which could help bring benefit to the game and/or the community." And in my opinion that is total BS, so I'll post here what I said because apparently Blizzard does not want people to hear it.
Blizzard needs to start implementing and fixing the many problems in this game very soon or they will lose many of their more experienced and loyal player base. The only reason that I am still playing this game is because of 1 friend (all the rest have already left) and because of the fact that I played Diablo and Diablo 2 and remember the way that Blizzard used to make games. If blizzard does not start to fix many of their issues this will no longer be enough of a reason for me and many other experienced players to continue playing this game.
I started playing D3V the day it was released and I did have a lot of fun, but there were many bugs and balance issues, this however was not a problem because I do understand that with a new game things like this take a bit of time to fix. Blizzard promised to balance things and release new content, well they did and things were still not balanced, the new content was lackluster and buggy, but thats still ok, its a newish game and blance takes time..... this has gone on since the release of D3V and me and many of the other top players are getting tired of this and are seriously considering quitting for good.
Patch 2.1 saw a lot of new content and new things to do, but once again there are SOOO many bugs and balance issues. The patch has gone on long enough for blizzard to know what needs to be fixed and to fix it. Yet they will not do this for quite a while (this is the way it has always been). For example, shortly after RoS came out, blizzard introduced a bug that caused the FS fetishes to replace the FA fetishes and thus caused the pet WD to not do well, well it took Blizzard till now to fix it, and now that they have blizzard has screwed up the pet health so much that Pet WDs cant even play in GRIfts. How is it that when there is a EXP exploit (like last week) blizzard can fix that overnight but something like this takes them months? Dont try to tell me that it "takes time" or that it is "difficult to implement" because I have done a lot of programming and I know exactly how easy and fast this is to fix!
Blizzard on countless occasions has promised us more build and gear diversity and yet in 2.1 there are less build and gear options then in 1.8! Seriously many of blizzards most loyal customers (Friends and I have played almost every blizzard game that has come out) are going to leave if blizzard does not start to follow through with what they promises. I have played from the release of D3V till now simply on the hopes that they will deliver what they promise, but this will not go on for much longer (especially after they banned my account because I posted this simply because they did not like it).
TLDR: Blizzard if you keep on promising us things and never delivering you will lose some of you best players and supporters.
Anyway, that is what I posted and it really pisses me off that it was removed and I had my account suspended. I have supported blizzard forever, I have been an active member on their forums supplying constructive feedback and support since D3 came out, and just because they do not like honesty they ban me??!?!??! Seriously??
Also something to think about, in D2 you could pick your favorite class and play nothing but that class and reach endgame content. And now in D3 you have to change your main class every single patch if you want to play endgame content, when RoS came out WD was dominating everything, so everyone rolled a WD, now with 2.1 DH is destroying GRifts, so everyone goes and rolls a DH in order to get to the endgame content.
Blizzard has been promising class balance since D3V came out, and we are still so extremely out of balance that hardly anyone is playing Crusader/Wizard/Barbarian, and the only reason people are playing Monk/WD is because they make good support classes.
To be fair the RoS Diablo team is light years ahead of the Vanilla team. But you are correct in that there are many issues, notably rushing patches that results in few changes and many bugs.
For one thing, if you think that every bug or issue can be hotfixed you are sadly mistaken. Some of these issues or even most of them will require a patch which in this case blizzard doesn't want to release very tiny content patches just to fix w/e the player base wants. Not to mention that each patch could cause more issues than fixing one or two at a time.
No offense, but it's pretty obvious why your post got deleted. You offer no insight as to how they can overcome their issues and are basically just complaining.
There will ALWAYS be a flavor of the month class. ALWAYS. This game is nowhere near as buggy as it was. However, classes are not as badly balanced as you make it sound.
I pulled up the leaderboards for GRifts just to see how so horribly unbalanced this game is as you say. Well here is the results for top GRift achieved per class on non-seasonal soft-core.
WD: 41
DH: 43
SADER: 41
BARB: 43
WIZ: 42
MONK: 40
Looks pretty balanced to me. I'd like to see you make a multiplayer game which has 6 classes with 23*5 different abilities and 18 passives of which 4-5 are active at a time and get all of those classes to be within 5% of each other.
I'll give you a hint, it's a lot harder than you think
You seem to be channeling Furor. Sadly (for you), "more experienced" does not translate to "best customer". Yes, you might be very loyal, put in tremendous play hours, and buy everything Blizzard puts out, but that in fact makes you part of a relatively small minority.
While I can appreciate you feeling alienated and frustrated by defects in the game (I feel them, too), the prospect of you and people like you (like me!) taking a break from the game (they know you'll be back, anyway) isn't terribly threatening to their business. And if you can't vent your frustration constructively, they're more inclined to just tell you to take a break from the forums and/or game.
The top few % of any given game's playerbase are almost assuredly going to be more vocal and displeased with things like endgame content, build diversity, and class balance. Meanwhile the average player (read: majority of their customers) are still trying to get Kadala to cough up set pieces to complete that 6-piece bonus, or farm their first RoRG, or survive T6, or get past GR20. Their heart races the first time they (finally!) get a goblin to spawn a portal, or get their first Thunderfury, or even see any legendary beam, period.
This is also why you will see content released from time-to-time that just makes you shake your head, like getting transmog or ink changes when there are MASSIVE SKILL/CLASS/SET BALANCE ISSUES. Why? Because you aren't the only person that plays this game, the way you play this game isn't the only way this game is played, and in fact most people play it differently than you or I do. So while I too wish they would "fix all the things" -- especially the ones that are really annoying to me -- a little perspective might help you realize we are not always their priority. And that sucks, but that's business.
To be fair, though, go back and look at more than just the top player in each class. There are WAY more 40+ DH than there are any other classes. This means that the consistency with which a DH is able to complete a High level grift is much greater and saders, monks, etc. who need to rely on rng to get a good grift that they can complete at that level. So it is not as clear as you make it seem and when you do more than just pull up the info on the top player or two, it's quite obvious. Blizz did say in a blue post (can't find link quick) that they are keeping an eye on DH being higher than other classes though...so I'm glad they have grits to measure class balance now and think we'll see balance patches come out to address them.
Youre right in there always being a flavor of the month class, but in itself that shows that something is unbalanced (The flavor is always 'best' class).
Having said all that: There are 2 year old bugs that still have yet to be addressed in this game (I'm looking at you über Maghda!), and it is lackluster that blizzard is lagging on fixing them. its not easy, but thats what we pay them to do :). I still have fun though and am happy with the game....but blizz should be more proactive on patching bugs.
Yes but each class, has to use the unity damage reduction, and play a certain build. I would like to see a pet WD at 40+ GR solo.... Issue is many people have been loyal fans of blizzard games for a long time, and they have promised us for about 5 years or so now for a good game. Does not have to be great, but for example my pet WD has like 1300+ Hours, and someone can go make a DH and make it T6/GR viable in under 100 hours of game play time... It should not be this way, any build/class should be able to at least reach around the same number. Not to mention they promised items would be better. and pretty much everyone uses SOJ, RORG, Unity. And now it is a damage immune amy or a HF amulet. Good luck using a amy with 5 main stats, thats useless if you get 1 shot in a GR...
Also diablo has always been about speed, and clear time. I do not mind some harder games, but beating on something for 10-15 minutes to kill it is more of a MMO based game play, not a hack and slash. And I do not think it would be super hard to somewhat balance a game more than it is now. I understand some classes will be stronger at times, but if you can be spoon fed bull shit for 5 years str8 and still be content, well good for you.
@ Septic Tank, very well put sir, and this is very true. I can say that Hyperion is a great player, and he is not the type of person that qq's about things honestly... He tried to make a post on the blizzard forums and he was not being rude, and they deleted/Banned him which is kinda shitty. So he was frustrated when he made this new post. So anyway if people are ok with running the same team comp being composed of ZDPS monk.WD and DH dps, yes it is fine. But I feel they have had ample time to make multiple builds/classes viable. I know they have improved the game a lot, and they continue to make changes, but it is a shame it takes 5 months for something like % damage on gear of a specific type to be fixed. Anyway there are many issues to be had here.

Eh, I was with you till the "DH's are destroying everything". They stated that they want everyone to be within 2 grifts of each other. Currently on SC (since that has the longevity of the most people with loot), Demon Hunters and Barbs are at 43. Wizards are 42. Crusaders and Witch Doctors at 41. Monks at 40. So by Blizzards quote for balance, only monks need a little boost to be in line. This also shows that DH's aren't "Destroying Grifts" when compared to everyone else.
I cant get in game at the moment, and the Leaderboards on D3.com are not showing the "teammates". However, earlier today alot of the top 45+ Grift teams were running Monk, WD, then a mix of DH/Wiz. If Dh were that overpowered teams would all be 1 monk and 3 DH's. Which is not the case simply by inspecting the Leaderboards.
With that said, Barbs and Crusaders need a pretty big toughness boost or something so they don't have to turn into essentially ranged classes. Which is primarily why you dont see them in alot of the 40+ grift makeups.
In all honesty, I am very, very surprised that blizzard puts as much effort into this game as they do. They aren't making money. They are losing money every time they put work towards D3 that isn't an expansion. I'm personally expecting them to start, eventually, adding buyable vanity items (new wings, ect) to the blizzard store for D3 (as well as things like buyable skins for SC2 units).
Thats whats funny Hyperion never plays a WD and he feels for them, so that is called being selfless. I feel the same way, I main WD and I know DH has struggled for so long, so I am happy to see them where they are now, and I don't think they need to be nerfed at all. The frustrating part is the lack of change that occurs in the game, and yes the game has bugs that are many years old and still not fixed. In fact in the 2.1 patch they have memory leaks which cause the map to be laggy and drop frame rates.
Let me fill everyone in on the so called "Balance" of pets, even if your pets get toughness based on you, it wont matter as soon as a jailer goes off and hits you? You die, and so do all of your pets. The only thing they could possibly do to fix that issue is.
1. Boost pet toughness for sure
2. Increase the range at which pets will aggro and attack mobs.
3. If they could some how add in a pet targeting system so you can choose what you want to attack, and a pet recall option to back them off. This would allow pet versatility and play style, and it would allow you to do things off of a more skill based system/dodging mallet lord slams, avoiding meteror impacts, avoiding AOE from bosses that murder pets etc.
All these people saying he is just complaining is redic..... Had the game been fresh and new and people cried I would get it, but it has been what like 5 years???? And before that they made us wait forever to say they wanted to make sure they did things right...
The main frustration is due to the fact that WH is no longer dominating the game. Indeed many classes need revamp and balance including pet WD, but the situation is not as desperate as it is described in OP. You kept mention five year, but to be fair did you record what Blizzard has done over these five years? It is now a completely new game that I believe many player enjoy more than ever. There is a slight imbalance in favor of DH at the moment especially in higher Grifts, which Blizzard has taken note. I roll all 6 classes to T6 and all other classes are pretty fast too in grifts 30+ especially wizards, WDand saders.
