welfare legendaries for everyone! who knows what for.. the game is 18+.. they shouldnt cater to all the kids playing it... if they cant handle farming, they need to go play tic tac toe for almost instant gratification.
Under "people who CAN handle farming" one might think of no lifers, you know, many people have a life, no time to farm 10h per day, so yes, this is very welcome because believe it or not, vast majority of players are casuals, few hours per day
The collective qq of the masses can accomplish really sad things.
The game is supposed to have an rng element.. "guaranteed drops" hardly fits the rng mentality.
I hear wow is already ruined and fully caters to casuals. it should be available in the launcher.
Just did three T6 games. Killed all four keywardens in each game.
Two Act 1 keys
One Act 2 key
Zero Act 3 keys
One Act 4 key
That's four keys on twelve kills, or an effective 33% drop rate on T6. That is unbelievably discouraging.
And that is why Ubers still suck. I was on the highest difficulty, did THREE GAMES WORTH OF FARMING, and have zero machines to show for it. You need four machines to make ONE ring/amulet, meaning at this rate I'd need 12+ games of farming just to make one ring/amulet after completing all four uber events with their guaranteed organ drops. ON THE HIGHEST DIFFICULTY SETTING. God forbid you're not on T6 and aren't getting guaranteed organs.
And then figure most people are going to have to craft dozens of amulets before they get one they want... and Jesus tap dancing Christ. Players are sacrificing legendary drops (by not doing rifts) to make these rings/amulets, and the process is utterly prohibitive.
Even if keys and organs were 100% each on T6, that would mean you still have to do four games worth of clears just to make one ring/amulet. It's almost like they want to bore people to death with this content. Farming keys is not a fun process at all.
EDIT
As redditors have pointed out, they should have made the keys 100% drop on T6 because, at the very least, the ubers fights are more interesting, and less frustrating, than running around Fields of Misery, Dahlgur Oasis, etc. hunting for a random spawn monster. Most people would probably be happier if the Ubers fight were the "roadblock" to making a ring/amulet as compared to the Keywardens. Personally, I'm all for it. It seems more engaging and interesting and I find farming Keywardens to be one of the most boring D3 activities out there.

I don't think you understand what the word "dumb" means. Reducing farming is not "dumbing down" the game, it is reducing the amount of time needed (on average) to farm a particular item. Your logic hurts my head :/ "instant gratification tic tac toe"... really? I don't think Blizzard is wondering why people don't play as much either :/
Who cares if there are "welfare legendaries"? This short sighted and quite frankly, neanderthal thinking is prevalent in WoW too. Honestly, does it matter? No matter what people get, some people aren't going to be capable of end game content at any meaningful level; no matter how much welfare comes their way. You're complaining, essentially, about Blizzard increasing the likelihood of the average player being capable of finding somewhat significant items??? If this form of logic is anything like the stuff I've experienced in my WoW days, it always came from a person who played the game a lot, but never really progressed to anything top tier :/ I'm sorry that it bothers you that people are able to get the same items as you, it makes me sad that you think like this

Yeah, same here (actually everywhere, not just on Reddit). The shared key success/failure on ubers is actually interesting and somewhat fun in groups; a non-100% drop chance gives a feeling of special "success" when you actually get an organ. By making the drop rate of organs 100% they removed the thrill from the uber fights entirely as they only last 10-20 seconds max and now have 100% drop chance. Farming keys, however, is still a pain and as key drop rates aren't shared you can't synchronize... "hey, let's farm act 3 key" - "no, I need act 2 key"; or, if you farm 10 T6 games for keys one person might get really unlucky and not get the machines while someone else can build 6 sets which feels somewhat bad because not everyone can contribute equally to ubers.
I absolutely think they changed the wrong thing and I'm still not doing ubers.
That's a step in the right direction, and I think keys should be 100% in T6 too.
The real problem remains that you still need to roll a good amulet. I only crafted 10 of those for a single char since 2.1 started, none of which were good (and most were plain terrible), but I'm almost out of souls.
I know there are people out there with souls by the thousands, but that's definitely not the case for more casual players like me (around paragon 450 and playing multiples classes, which means I tend to burn through souls for reforging).

and lol at making you sad... seriously?
and yes.. you repeated pretty much everything i said but in a "give-me-welfare-legendaries-i-have-a-lollife-casual" way.. what was the point? where you trying to make sure, or just retyping it so you could understand it better?
I think the only thing offsetting the drop rates on the keys, and not everyone getting the key at the same time is the fact that for every machine that can be made in the group, everyone in the group, @ T6, can get an organ.
I know for some, probably most, farming keys isn't the greatest. I choose to load a Hoarder gem and go hunting, good way to make some gold, and I tend even so to run thru the zone and not kill everything in sight.
Even so, with the shared organ drop, I had enough for four machines, messaged a buddy, who had none at the time, and invited him along and we both got an ammy. I guess my point is, everyone doesn't have to have a full set of machines, which it was similar previously, but now a contributed full set yields an ammy.
I do the ubers on T6 and the drop rate for me feels pretty good. No I haven't tracked it, but it's decent. I also try to bing others along if they can simply keep up when I hunt them.
I guess I see it as an opportunity to help out instead of lament.
please, the people who say its discourageting to "only" have 33.3 % dropchance from his 12 bosses killed, please submit a higher pool to do math from... doing 4 runs and then complaining you only had 33 % droprate, is just not enuff data to make that assesment from
I'm not saying that's the actual droprate on keys.
I'm just illustrating that key farming is the annoying part of the Ubers process, not organ farming, and that Blizzard chose the wrong aspect to make guaranteed. My experience with T6 Keywarden farming may not be "normal" but certainly it's not far from it, and that's a problem, because it's still far too big of a hurdle to get people to actually want to do the content.... and that's all that matters.
Farming keys is the first step in the process. How many attempts do you think people are going to give, especially solo, before they realize they've spent 20+ minutes running around some of the largest zones in the game like a chicken with its head cut off, and they don't even have ONE machine, let alone FOUR machines, and that even when they do get four machines, whenever that may be, they're still completely at the mercy of the RNG gods for a proper set of primaries AND a good passive despite being on the hardest difficulty and having the best chances to get the keys? I mean even after this drop rate buff to the organs you're talking about hours of investment per craft. Most of that is spent running around Fields of Misery and Dahlgur Oasis. Woooohoooo for progress, I suppose.
There is a very good reason why they should have buffed the key droprate, not the organ droprate.... farming Keywardens is a horrible, boring, waste of time.
I think its great that we have theese discussions, however its becoming a little to much with all this "boost droprates issues" - its gonna end up with everything just being easymode to get, and where is the fun in that ? diablo is a game about grinding, if you dont like that, diablo is not the game for you, it has allways been like that.
I'd like to point out that you admit you got a great hellfire amulet in about five hours of farming, and only six crafting attempts. Given that luck I don't think you have any right to sit back on your high horse and lecture people about "grinding" as you didn't really make that much of an investment into getting an amulet. You got lucky. Period. Other people have crafted dozens of amulets without getting a trifecta amulet with a good passive. Maybe you'd like to switch places with them, since apparently you don't mind grinding Keywardens for weeks and weeks.
It's almost like listening to rich people lecture poor people about just going out and getting a job. At some point you realize they're so disconnected from reality that their opinion doesn't really hold water.
Amulets costs 10 souls to make, i was leaving all my legs on the ground and now out of them with plenty of mats to craft amulets. Dont be lazy and de unlike myself

reading comprehension isn't your strong suit eh? Goes along with your understanding of vocabulary :/
I don't have a "lollife casual way"; I'm ranked on both HC/SC ladders and when I played WoW, I was consistently in the top US 50 guilds for clearing. I am as competitive in video games as I am at work. I don't do or take anything casually :/ It's also why I wouldn't care about "casuals getting legendaries", much like you do...
It's people like you that make me sad about humanity. You're complaining about other people's ability to enjoy a video game. Like I said before, you're probably one of those people that plays a lot of video games, but never progresses to anything top tier :/ I said sorry because I feel sorry for you when you have a mindset like the one you've presented here.
ive farmed t6 wardens over a hundred times in october 2014 and not one organ ever dropped. am i missing something? i play on ps4. i thought u er dropped organs anyway. i got zero there as well
thanks, i read that before, but here is the problem im having. if by "organs" they mean the viles and whatever required for ammy or random ring, i get those. BUT... when i try to craft a specific ring, it shows i have zero required organs (spine, etc, reminicent of diablo 2 organs). if droprate was 50% and updated to %100, then shouldnt i have at least one organ?!?!?

I think you're missing the way this works. You get the keys from Kewardens. The keys make a machine. The machine opens a portal and the bosses inside the portal drop the items needed to craft an amulet.
The Keys are never guaranteed (just more likely on higher Torment Levels). The items from the bosses are 100% in Torment VI. They are not guaranteed in any other Torment Level.

Help me understand: You've killed Keywardens, gotten the keys, made a machine, used the machines to summon portals, entered the portals and killed the Uber bosses, and received the crafting materials for the ring/amulet... is this correct?
If so, having received these crafting materials, you've tried to craft the ring/amulet, but it showed that you didn't have any of the crafting materials, even though you know that you do?
If so, then here's the most likely problem: There are level 60 and level 70 versions of the rings and materials. If you have the level 60 materials, they won't work with the level 70 patterns. If you have the level 70 materials, they won't work with the level 60 pattern.
My guess is that you're trying to craft using the wrong pattern.
edit: Also, on the off chance that you were unaware, you need more than just a single organ to craft the ring/amulet. You need at least one copy of all of the organs.
well my hero is level 70 paragon in the hundreds, and im assuming that level 60 items wont be dropping at this point. the blacksmith offers either "hellfire ring" or "hellfire ring of intelligence, strength, etc." the random ring i can make no problem. are these new drops the level 70 "organs"? the vengeful eye, whithering spine, and devils fang are the "organs" that WILL NOT drop for me. are these the level 60 organs that i no longer need? if yes, then i assume that now i can no longer craft main stat specific rings and only random hellfire rings? if yes, will it always smart roll or am i at the mercy of RNG after all my hard work?
The game is supposed to have an rng element.. "guaranteed drops" hardly fits the rng mentality.
