Okay, this is going to be a multi-purpose thread to reduce clutter on the forums. Here you can do the following:
Complain about the game not dropping item X
Insane luck because you got 3 Shard of Hates in a row
Ask if Kadala drops item Y
Show off your insanely well rolled Thunderfury
Discuss whether or not the drop rate was stealth nerfed
Point out that the Mystic refuses to give you a socket on your weapon despite you asking her politely
State the obvious fact that Onyxia Deep Breaths more often since last patch
And all similar issues that come down to a simple thing: RNG.
I was going to add this to the FAQ, but since those threads pop up daily, it deserves its own thread. Here's a breakdown of information about current drop rates:
The drop rates have not been altered since the last patch 2.0.5.
Kadala might give you everything except for Bottomless potions, follower items, and cache-only legendaries.
Kadala might give you nothing ever.
There's always someone who gets every desired enchant on the first roll; to even out for this, you are the victim who will not get the desired enchant even after 100 re-rolls.
If you play for 500 hours and find 2000 legendaries, you will not get an average distribution of all the legendaries in the game; instead, you will see lucky streaks (for example, 3 Wand of Wohs in a row - feel free to post this here than so that I can hate you) or unlucky streaks (for example, never get a Wand of Woh - feel free to post this here so you can join my despair).
Important: If you see a thread that is an "RNG thread", post a link to THIS thread and leave. Do not engage in discussions. New threads that purely discuss RNG, even about a specific item or in a subforum (classes) will be locked. One thread is enough. Thanks.
people say that you have the same chance of drawing 50 royal flushes from 50 shuffled decks as any other 50 combinations of 5 cards you can name.
it makes perfect sense. the cards dont care about which card is which. they are all just cards. they all have the same odds of being drawn. They do not keep track of what has been drawn before. The decks of cards and the shuffle do not understand what a poker hand is. the deck of cards does not understand the difference between 1 ace and 4 aces
but the players do.
just like how one can assume that the D3 code does not understand what a piece of shit unique is. But the players do.
The game does not see 3 "useless as all fuck" Ivory Towers in the past 5 hours. But the players do.
The game does not count 25,000 shards spent for nothing entertaining. But the players do. and so on and so forth.....
The rules that could be writen, and the enhancements that could be grafted into the game as far as item drops and/or noteworthy occurences go, that would increase the number of positive experiences for the players or reduce the number of negative experiences, is as infinite as one could imagine....
I suppose these shitty scenarios are rare. thank goodness!!
Are they rare? They must be.......
Does the Ivory tower still suck? It used to be a goddamn joke....
Food for thought?
TLDR: I think hearthstone is awesome for the same reason chess is awesome. its because the amount of possibilities is virtually limitless. Same with starcraft. Because some units are weak against units and strong against others, It's like rock paper scissors on a grand scale.
What does this have to do with D3? im not sure yet....
