The only thing on your list that bothers me is the fact that we still have to identify 1 and 1 item, i miss Cain, he would identify your whole inventory in Diablo 2.
Thats basically my biggest issue with the game, and the fact that they killed off Cain
Stats are indeed rolled when the item drops. If we want to be really technical about it the stat is rolled before the item shows up but after the mob is killed. In other words the item is created the moment the mob dies and after the process of creation and all the rolls for quality and stats are made the items appears and drops on the ground.

I think the question, in light of what Dehydrogenaza brought up as a possible scenario, is WHERE are the stats for the unID'd items stored? Are they stored on the server and the process of IDing an item forwards that data to the client? That's a realistic possibility since, basically everything in our inventories is stored on the server in some manner. Or, when an item is dropped, is that information immediately relayed to the client?
I mean, regardless of when the items stats are rolled, that doesn't actually change the fact that the IDing timer could be in place to prevent purposeful desynching and possible duping. What matters is where that data is stored. Frankly, I think it's probably better that we don't know as it's clearly a point where some duping could be done. Granted, the hackers probably already have this knowledge so who am I kidding?
i can understand your frustration, but the one that i most agree on is the gem crafting which feels ridiculous.
For example say i want to make radiant gem, i got to makes dozens of lower level ones before i can click to build a radiant. This takes dozens of clicks !!! its ridunculous >:{
1) By vast majority of the community, I believe you mean a bunch of threads on the noturiously whiny b.net forums? Cause I sure don't care.
He means people who compain on diablofans and such AND people who are annoyed but too lazy to go to the forums and make threads about this (like me and everyone from my friends list).
I have a few hundred radiant gems that still need upcrafting to higher tiers, so I guess I'm in favor of that feature getting put in. I mean, most people, if they had the gold, might craft a ton of gems at one time to higher tiers.
Gear-crafting, while people MIGHT craft 20-30 at a time, I don't think that should be messed with. Take at least half a second to assess what you've just made, and at least acknowledge it as something you don't want, before crafting another. Gems, yes, they tend to be crafted all the same way with all the same result, so that could some kind of a "craft X of this type?" button...but unless you're doing a stream where you're GUARANTEEING viewers that you'll craft X of some particular piece, most people won't craft 30 pairs of gloves or shoulders if they don't need to.
As for ID ALL, this tends to be a sensitive subject for me. For one thing, I remember having to pay Cain 100g in Diablo 1 PER ITEM, and when soloing, gold was pretty scarce. And I was fine with that. When Diablo 2 came out and I rescued him from Tristram, he offered to ID all my items for free. My first thought, I kid you not, was, "seriously? This is going to make the game way too freaking easy." True, it didn't make the game way too easy, but it just felt a little TOO streamlined. Like, if you're going to have Cain just ID everything for free, why bother even making things NEED identifying? When doesn't Cain just pass on his "identifying" power to the player, and anything you pick up is just magically identified?
When D3 hit, and I found out that ID'ing goes the way of the player, that it takes a little bit of casting time, but for the most part...no NPC AND no scrolls? I was very excited. Yes, the 3 second cast time was a lot, and I'm happy it's been reduced, but seriously, I'm fine with it the way it is. I know it annoys "a ton of people," but that ton of people are used to their routines in D2 and fear change. As I said, if they make an ID ALL feature, they may as well not even bother with forcing you to ID anything. They may as well just grant you the Power of the Horadrim, and anything you pick up is ID'ed the moment it hits your inventory, then at least you can see what you have before you even get back to town.
As for making that feature optional? Why make it optional? It's not like if the feature was in the game, people would actually forego using it. No need to make it optional.
