I have been playing D3 for some time now, and I have yet to find anything that sells for a semi decent price, and I cannot for the life of me find any upgrades I can actually use. I spend pretty well all the gold I make trying to buy upgrades, but the rate I make gold is just silly. I have actually resorted to picking up everything I come across minus whites, and porting back to town a ridiculous amount just to make the small amounts that keep me going. I have heard people tell me just to skip blues and only pick up certain yellows/legendaries, but it feels like even trying these suggestions I just cannot for the life of me roll a decent item to sell. Curious to know how other people make out with their luck, and how often you come across a decent selling item? The most I have ever made off an AH sale was 1.5 mil.
I get good streaks sometimes, where I'll find a couple items worth 10-80mil, and then a bunch of ones 1-5mil, and that usually lasts about a week. I've been on a dryspell as of late though, a few legendaries a day, but no drops of any value. After building a set for my wiz, I'm back to broke.
Ouch, I hear you there, I am trying to gear up a WW barb ( I know, everyone has one lol ) but I had played a DH for so long I was really excited to get into one Just need the funds now to even out my gear! I can do Mp 2 lol, but that's about it! crossing my fingers bigtime for that one drop that will help get me those few upgrades I need to move on. Hell if you can believe this, I have such bad luck with RNG that I haven't even been able to complete 1 hellfire ring lol, Sad story right?
So you can tell me I have nothing on you? that I haven't put in 800 hours played? and that I have no right to complain? I know people IRL who are as smart as an eraser, and they get drops out their ass, farming act 1, 0 MP. I didn't start the thread to get bashed, I was simply seeing what kind of luck others have had with drops, trying to see if those items worth 100+ mil i've heard about actually exist, and sell for said price.. 320K dps sig tells me you're just going to berate me.
I seem to vaguely remember getting an item worth 100mil many patches ago. Haven't really found one since then. I usually find things worth anywhere between 500k to a just a few mil. Nothing spectacular. Little sales is where most of my gold comes from. It's still fun to find legendaries though, even if they're not good.

I have found a few legendaries, just nothing particularly useful lol, and I tend to roll low stats, so I get into the 30k region lol, took me ages but I finally had a JC plan drop, got so excited because I hadnt checked the price in forever, just to find out it dropped to 15k lol. I will keep my chin up though and hope I find something good soon! Thank!

I don't know where this hostility came from. I requested legitimate information. Why? Because I've seen countless—as in honest to God I completely lost track of how many—people post about how they never find anything. Then I see they have 5K elite kills and less than 20K lifetime kills. I'm not saying you're one of those people, but if you are, there's no surprise why you haven't found anything yet. The way this game is designed at the moment, you're not likely to strike the mother lode with that kind of progress.
Yes, I have almost 1,000 hours logged into my account (over 800 on my wizard). However, I didn't start finding my 100M, 350M, 700M gold-valued items until I was well into paragon 80s. In fact, the first 100M item I actually sold was a mediocre trifecta glove when I was in my paragon 60s.
I can count the number of 100M+ gold-valued items that were self-found... on one hand. And I have over 60K elite kills and nearly 1.5 million lifetime kills.
My apologies, but in my experience, posting here and the MMO forums, I have had people ask similar questions and get on my case about not being " hardcore " enough. I suppose I owe an apology, I will get these stats for you Jaetch.
I mean, if you're paragon 90 and you haven't found a single thing, and you pretty much pop every chest you find, flip every body, kill every trash mob that grazes your screen, elite and champ you find, and still haven't gotten a worthwhile drop... then yes, you are pretty darn unlucky.
Otherwise, your time will come. How soon will depend on your current gear progress and your play style.
Fair enough, I have not logged nearly as many hours as I have had alot of RL stuff popping up since august really. I am Paragon 40, so I suppose I can't complain really, and I don't have a decent MF set sadly, again I apologize to you Jaetch, my hostility was not necessary. Again I will keep plugging away! hearing that you guys have found some good items gives me hope, and I will keep trying!
Thanks guy! I do have hope now lol, I am sure I will get that golden item if I keep plugging away! Just nice to hear that it DOES happen Any suggestions on how you farm? Would love some feedback on what else has worked for people

I was, I rolled a WW barb not long ago because of the OP farming power lol. I would love my DH to be my main, but the survivability of my WW barb rocks my DH farming wise at this point, with my current gear on each character anyways
I'm paragon 89, and I have never gotten a single item I sold for more than 100M. I've got plenty of 50-90M ones but never a single great item. Most of my fortune I earned selling those 5-15M items
I guess it all depends on when did you find an item. I remember a time when I wished i got a IK chest, since the worst was at least 60M on the AH. Then some time went by and I got my first IK chest. Guess what was the price for the worst one 10M. Just sad. Although I got a decent one and sold it for around 80M if I've gotten it a month earlier I could have gotten 800M.
It all comes down to luck at the end, some of us have it some of us don't. I wont complain, as there are worse cases than mine, but a buddy of mine that I play with(and around the same time as I) has found at least 2 200+M items so far, and yet I have not found one over 100M.
