I will just say this, if the Blizzard calculations is "150% of", not "150% increase to" health, then the other guy is right. If its the other way around, I am right about the monster power sweet spot, and the data I gathered seemed to support my theory.
In terms of keys and extra items, correct, I am not factoring those things in. I am just talking about very basic % bonuses based on the chart Blizz provided. For me, I find it useful, since my character is not steamrolling the content, "knowing" that MP3, MP4 is the most bang for the buck is good to know. Maybe it will be for others.
Again, if someone can provide confirmation of the health % increase and how it works I would love to know.
I can't say I'm positive MP1 is 150% of MP0 and not 100+150=250%. It would fit better with the pattern (which seems to be +50% of the last level) and with my experience (MP1 doesn't seem like things are more than twice as hard to kill than MP0).
However, even if I'm wrong, that just makes your chart even LESS accurate.
I'm saying MP0 has the lowest HP/loot. If you increase the HP of all the others, it just makes their HP/loot higher, and so MP0 becomes comparatively even better.
What you are forgetting in the monster hp discussion: in act1, in addition to gaining health for MP, monsters also gain health for being level 63 instead of 61 when you are switching on monster power. You'll also gain much more than 10% more exp, because level 63 monsters are worth much more than level 61 monsters.
To make it short: you can't really include MP0 in those tables for act1 and 2 (the items will also be significantly worse because they'll only roll level 61/62 affixes if you play without MP in act 1 and 2).
That's absolutely true, if you want to do Act 1 or 2 you definitely want MP1. That doesn't mean MP0 Act 3 wouldn't still be more efficient though.

There's an argument to be made though that monsters in Act 1 are mechanically easier than the ones in Act 2 or 3. If you're hunting elite packs, that can be a difference. Looking to kill lots of small monsters obviously you're going to find the highest concentration in Act 3.
Except your numbers are totally wrong bro. Re-do your chart. Its 150% increase to a monster of health 100, so that means 100hp *150% + the original life of 100hp for a total of 250hp at monster power 1. Its 150% increase to health 100hp, not 150% "of" 100hp.
If you redo your chart with the correct numbers you will see that you will get the same ratios in my original chart. Im a CPA, I do this shit for a living.
It's not a 150% increase. It's 150% health, i.e. MP1 has +50% HP from MP0.
Granted. that is true assuming you are right. But I was just in the game looking at monster health bars, and the numbers seem to indicate my assumption. I guess I could be wrong though.
I just went throught the fields of misery with my friend and gathered the HP of the goatmen in MP0 & MP1, the data supports a 150% increase to health, not 150% of health.
Those are Act 1 mobs... The changes refer to mlvl63 mobs.
Granted you gimp yourself on drops, but how does MP10 hell compare to inferno if you were looking at it from purely a XP grinding point?
Nevermind it only took one run to realize this isn't a good idea. At least for a wizard that can't get around as fast as other classes.
good geared CM wizards are the fastest moving characters in the game due to always having wormhole on cool down. as long as monsters arent instantly killed and u can get decent crit rolling going
the sweet spot will always be based off of dps and movement speed. and in some cases maybe a little higher due to crit rolling for cm wizards so they can chain wormhole and barbarians so they can keep WOTB up. basically u want to be almost instantly killing things. so if u have 200k buffed dps u probably want to do mp4
You can't compare act 1 mp0 monster HP to act 1 MP1 HP, because jumping to MP1 also increases the monster level from 61 to 63. Nobody should even think about farming MP0 act 1/2 as that's an incredible waste of time (even if you have to sacrifice lots of DPS to do that, you should still do it and go farm act 3 MP0 instead). In act 1/2 you can only compare MP>1 to MP1 (MP0 there is pointless as it's extremely easy an unrewarding due to monster/item level). In act 3 you can compare to MP0 as well.
As for download links, seems like mediafire changed some stuff there (this is pretty new, they have been working for years just fine). I'll try looking for a new place where I can easily host and share files without too much hassle.
EDIT: OK, I hosted it on our Arma 2 Israeli community website storage...
