Right, there was a poll on Facebook, made by one of the polish online shops (they sell game codes etc.), they made a contest - vote in the poll and you get a chance to win Diablo 3 or get cash back (if you'd already preordered).
I'm not saying it reflects how will the whole community split among the classes, it can picture it, but it doesn't have to. Note that this is a small number of people compared to how many are actually going to play it.
For me however: Before the beta I though I was going to play Barb, but after the beta it's Monk for sure!
I agree with poll up there. There seem to be the least group favoring Monk. There are always a lot of magic-class fans to go with Wizard, melee die-hards to go with Barbarian, mainstream dummies to go with DH. Monk and WD are not that favored, but overall WD seems much more interesting and charismatic.
Wtch Doctor. I would go as far as saying i hate this class. it really is a class that you either love, or dislike. theres (almost) no middle ground. it just seems like such a lame class. i mean honestly, were fighting hordes and hordes of demons, fighting for our survival as a race, theres death everywhere...... and THIS guy is sitting there blowing darts from a straw, throwing jars of spiders, tossing frogs, and lighting bats on fire..... THIS guy.....
I love the WD and its definitely going to be my first class played. The options the WD has for skills is just enormous. TONS of CC, direct dmg spells, aoe, pets, and cool as hell character sets make him tops for me as well. I can see how they would be lower on polls simply because its a different type of class and the diablo class that its replacing (necro) was really popular and WD is definitely different. I honestly think if they make sure there are no broken mechanics like teleport from d2, then Barb will always stay #1, but the other 4 will be roughly even. There wont be an assasin like bad class in D3 the way things stand. They have really done an amazing job balancing these classes out, IMO
Sadly, the WD is nothing like the Necro-summoner of D2. persistent summons aren't 'that' powerful and act better as distractions to keep the heat off you while you toast the monsters. Nevertheless, overlord of minions is still an option with sacrificial exploding zombie dogs. There are a handful of builds floating around, just search for "sacrifice" in the WD subform and you can get a good idea.
I do wonder though why the WD is in such disfavor. In the poll on the official forums he was lowest by a substantial margin. I haven't looked at any other polls though, time to check.
To me it is because he looks like a crackhead. Hes shaking violently like an addict. Him even fighting forces of evil is laughable to me, and his skills are pretty bleh to me as well.

I think you will find that he kicks demon ass as much as the other classes.
Im sure he does, just the way he does doesn't do anything for me. I can smash evil face, punch evil face, shoot evil face, magic evil face,....or I can drop some toads or throw jar of spiders at evil face....yea....
Well, from what I've seen, WD and monk (WD being probably a bit less played), but once people see how awesome WD armor is they will change their mind
It's like death and macabre inspired (obviously), but it aint static. It's moving, like Cthulhu style.
From my time in the Beta, I'd say the WD was easily the most op class. At least until you got a decent 2 hander on the Barb. So I'm sure the doctor will be popular, it just may take some time.
What is your favorite Diablo 3 character?
Barbarian 353 (21.28%)
Demon Hunter 315 (18.99%)
Monk 408 (24.59%)
Witch Doctor 303 (18.26%)
Wizard 280 (16.88%)
Total votes: 1659
Atm, its so close that it hardly means anything though.

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?"
I think this reflects my idea of what the community will think. They did a good job of making the Demon Hunter badass, so even though the archetype isn't as popular, lots of people will play it just because it looks so cool.
Personally, I can't decide between Monk and Barbarian for my first class. Every time I think I've decided on one, I find out something cool about the other. Demon Hunter comes in third for me, followed by Wizard and then WD. WD is the only class in the beta that I didn't really have any fun playing. That being said, he gave me the impression that the class will be RIDICULOUSLY powerful at higher levels. Just not for me.
Therefore, I think WD will become much more popular when people realize he "owns" and perhaps numbers will even out.
I cant believe that people think WD is least playable. WD is the only class that has a little bit of every class and plus more. Playing a WD is just as effective as playing other classes even without minions. YOu can focus on Direct dmg, AoE dmg, CC, minions, or on all mentioned. The most fun class to play, and it greatly scales with levels and gear.
i like how people are linking polls to peoples FAVORITE character. just because one class is lowest on peoples favorite character, doesnt make them the least liked. just means they arent the favorite
