So, things to take into account. I've never bought anything online, ever, and I live in Uruguay, South America.
About preordering D3 online:
1- I understand that you can preorder the game for $60, download it and then on May 15 install it and play, without ever getting a physical copy of the game. Is this correct or am I missing something? Is this US-only or can it be done from anywhere? What happens if my computer dies, do I get some kind of password to download the game again?
2- Let's say I do want a physical copy. Original games here cost like $200, and arrive late, so that's out of the question. How much does it cost to ship the game here? Can it be done officially or do I need to hire a third-party shipping company?
3- A relative of mine is going to the US on July. Can I preorder the game, play on release date and pick up the copy 2 months later? Buying it there would be the simpler (does "simplest" exist?) option, but I really don't want to wait 2 more months.
If there's a Preodering FAQ that I'm missing, just point me to it. Thanks!

1. Yes its a prepurchase, you download and play the 15th from anywhere in the world on your home region (which is america for south america you ll be mixed with US players, brazilian etc whole americas). Its linked to your bnet account, you can redownload from it as long as you dont lose your account somehow.
2. Not sure what you talk about, just order to a retailer that ships overboard. Shipping will vary, expect 20/30$ and some days of transit. You probably have to do this online.
3. If you prepurchase you have no box, if you prepurchase and buy a box you need to buy 2 games... Not sure once again what you want. If you know someone that has the box though he can send you the key, add it to your account and then you can pick up the box but it requires someone of trust to open the box for you.
Unless you really really want a box (which is not even CE) just buy it online at blizzards for 60$.

1. Yes, if you pre-order the digital version, there's no need for the physical disc.
No, it's not exclusive to US citizens.
You can download the game as often as you like, your PC dying doesn't affect your accoun
or your accessibility to the game. Just go to your Battle.net account and download the client again.
2. Depends on where you order the game from. My guess would be around 10-30$, don't take my word
for it, check prices online.
3. No, you can't unless the shop you're ordering the game from, opens up the box and gives you the
key on release.
I guess I can't preorder and get a physical copy then. I'll just buy it online and forget about the box.
So, totally different question, can I install the game on several PCs with the same key? I know I can't play at the same time with one account, but say I took turns with my brother, each of us on their own PC, is that permitted?

Yes you can install it everywhere, the autentification is through a login when you enter the game. Like you said you cant connect more than once at a time though.

Installing it on multiple PC's is fine. Sharing accounts is against most online games' terms of service though because customer service doesn't want to deal with the support calls when someone gets angry and changes the password or sells items the other wanted or whatever. I don't know for sure if it's against the TOS in D3 so you'd have to check, or just not *wink* do it *wink*. Really though, if you can afford it, wouldn't you rather play with him anyway?

...and if you disagree with me, you're probably <insert random ad hominem attack here>.

Blizzard probably cares. I'm just pointing out that if he does that, he probably shouldn't advertise it or expect Blizzard to help if he and his brother have a falling out.

He's not as big a fan as I am. Besides, he doesn't have much free time is probably moving out soon, so buying two copies is not really a sensible choice. It's just so he can try it out with his own PC.
So, I've ran into a few problems while trying to prepurchase this game.
As I said before, I live in Uruguay, and apparently the Credit Cards from here are not supported (specifically VISA.) Is there a way to prepurchase this game without a PayPal account? Are any of you from an "unsupported" country as well? How did you buy the game?
Also, I set my Home address to the US, as I do in every website, and now I can't change it. Is that going to be a problem?

You can install the game on over 9000 PCs no problem,
you just can't log in at the same time to play the game.

Who cares about that.
I agree playing 2 is better though !

Besides, we're both single players at heart.
Thanks for the warning though.
